    2. Click Cancel on every New Hardware wizard that comes up. If you've gotten rid of all of the nVidia video drivers using DriverSweeper it shouldn't autoload any drivers since they won't be there.

    3. Same as XP, during boot process press the F8 key rapidly until you get the menu.

    I15 broke the

Only for the nublets that leave the settings on
  3. Uninstall drivers, boot to Safe Mode, run DriverSweeper, boot to normal mode, don't let windows install any drivers, install these 185.85 drivers.

Also, if it were me, I'd drop the Physics Quality to High since there is no Ageia PhysX card installed.
  4. Well, part of the problem with that is that people with a lower graphics card won't be able to see the improvements in the video with high graphics.

  5. Really? Are you using Firefox or IE? If it's Firefox you may need to right-click the download link and do the Save Link As ... dance.

Edit: Works for me in IE and Firefox just by clicking the link. Firefox asks me what I want to do and gives the option of Save File or Cancel.
  6. Eh, no sabotage at all. Just killin time until we get logs.

    And you are incorrect.

    <ul type="square">[*]I AM SEXY![/list]
    See above pic for proof.

  7. And Twitter does me no good anyway since I can't access it at work. Guess I'll just have to wait for the updates from Comic Con to hit the forums.
  8. Did the same for me. Reloading the page did nothing. I got a small white box in the lower right of the screen, but the majority of the text was thin grey lettering on top of the huge graphic of Statesman, Sister Psyche, Lord Recluse and Ghost Widow. All of that text was on the left side of the page.

Happens for me in IE or in Firefox.

    RANT!!

Ya know PK, I kinda like you.

Waddayaknow, PK is right, us old people DO have impaired judgement.

  10. First, post a log from running CoH Helper as it will give information about your system and the CoH installation and settings.

Second, post a log from running HijackThis. This will show what else is going on on your computer while you are playing CoH.

No bug reports get personalized "thank you" letters, if that's what you mean. From what I've been told at cons, they DO look over every bug report. Whether they're high enough priority to do anything about, is really the question.

    [/ QUOTE ]

All of the bug reports I've filed that actually make it to a ticket do get a canned ham Support response saying "we've filed this as a bug report, it'll get fixed eventually". However, some of the reports I've filed don't even get to that point, which has made me wonder if some of my in-game bug reports aren't even showing up.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Generally, if it is something that is already on the list of known bugs, I get the canned response. If it isn't on the list, I get no response.

Also, before anything actually gets to the Devs it goes through QA. If it is not something that they can reproduce, it likely doesn't get passed up the line and you probably wouldn't get an email about it either.

Problem is, if it's not on the front page, chances drop drastically that anyone will even look at it.

Are you sure? I know when I run through this forum, I normally run all the way through all the new topics. I pay particular attention to threads that have no response, too, and threads that have clear titles.

That doesn't mean I respond, of course. If your thread gets a dozen reads and no response, that can be interpreted as "Dunno - go ask official support."

I'm thinking we should wait for the new forums to pop up before going and making new rules. We could have new tools there, if we're lucky. (Like maybe a "my question was answered" flag? :drool

P.S. Speaking of official support - wouldn't support have the issue well in hand after three days most of the time?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I too read through all of the new posts. Of course, I have my preferences set to show 50 posts per page and 50 threads per page. So I seldom have to go to page 2 unless I'm on a computer where I'm not logged into the boards.

As for the P.S. question, support would only have the problem well in hand after 3 days if people actually, ya know, filed support tickets. And provided the information that was requested in response to the post was given.
  13. Right. Secret and underground. Which is why on Justice we've had to recreate our Hami channel more than once due to it getting full.

Our current channel of Justice For All has gotten so full that we've formed a split-off channel for those that want something a bit quieter and to still be able to see the same MoTD announcing events and be able to look for teams. Diet JFA fits the bill nicely for some of us that have additional channels where we normally find teams, or don't want to read all the random chat.

Nothing Secret or Underground. Heck, you can even Search for channels from the Menu or (IIRC) from right-clicking in a chat window. Yeah, really secretive.
  14. Only if you aren't running the correct drivers.
  15. I would also recommend upgrading Vista to Service Pack 2. It seems to help with game stability.
  16. And please, please, please keep all of your posts about this in this thread. It is difficult to keep track of what is going on when it is spread over multiple threads.
  17. Check Tease's thread about Vista and Server 2008.

    His solution may help
  18. I'd recommend starting with Zloth's ++ Common Solutions &amp; Posting Guidelines ++ thread that is stickied in this forum.

Secondly, post a log from running CoH Helper as it will give information about your system and the CoH installation and settings.

Thirdly, post a log from running HijackThis. This will show what else is going on on your computer while you are playing CoH.

Also, being able to play Age of Conan or one of the myriad other MMO's that are popular has no bearing on how your computer handles CoH. AoC, and most of the other "popular" MMO's use DirectX whereas CoH uses OpenGL. Yes, WoW can run on OpenGL, but from what I've read it's not always easy to enable it. Comparing how a DirectX game runs to how an OpenGL game runs is comparing apples to oranges.
  19. Finding just 6 people in PI means nothing. The only evidence you will likely find if you look for me on Justice as to whether or not I am online is if I say anything in one of the global channels I'm in, I unsilence someone in one of those channels that is set to Silence on Join, or if you happen to see my character that I'm playing. Luckily, my characters are all easily recognizable as me if you've run across any of my characters in the past. Same colors, same chest emblem, Texas in the name, same SG (yes, it's a solo SG).

You won't find me on Seach lists, you won't see me on Friend's lists or GFriend's lists, on global channel lists or anything where I'm visible to the spammers.

I know of several other people that are using variations of the same hide features I use.

Also, when I'm in PI it's generally due to an Invasion of some type, talking to one of my contacts for the first few times before I get a phone number, or going into a mission door in PI. Oh yeah, the inevitable street hunts for Carnies etc that the contacts have me do. But you'd still have to actually see me or see my text to know I'm there.

    Massachussets Furlough Program?

Also known as The Dukakis-Horton Plan.

  21. Well, what seems to have happened is that the player quit the team before the leader had exited the mission although they'd gotten the completion message.

I can see where this could cause problems if the leader goes afk right before the end or is looking at something else and doesn't exit right away and some quit the TF before the leader gets out.

With Docam's scenario of it being anyone that hasn't exited, this could cause quite a few problems.

Luckily, the GM they were dealing with awarded the merits for the Synapse TF to them, so all is good there.

Have fun with the rest of the TF's this week.
  22. Eh, Jay and I have discussed it. He doesn't necessarily agree with me, but he sees my point.

He did get me to say it once, and only once, last year just before HeroCon. He sent me a file of one of the chest details that I was trying to work with to make a shirt.

True, that file didn't scale for beans so was basically useless, but he still sent it.

Of course, BAB did one better and noticed it wouldn't scale so he "whipped something up in Photoshop" that he hoped would work.

EDIT: Not the best possible photo to show off what BAB "whipped up in Photoshop", but you can see a good part of it here.
