Really weird graphical issues
I'd recommend starting with Zloth's ++ Common Solutions & Posting Guidelines ++ thread that is stickied in this forum.
Secondly, post a log from running CoH Helper as it will give information about your system and the CoH installation and settings.
Thirdly, post a log from running HijackThis. This will show what else is going on on your computer while you are playing CoH.
Also, being able to play Age of Conan or one of the myriad other MMO's that are popular has no bearing on how your computer handles CoH. AoC, and most of the other "popular" MMO's use DirectX whereas CoH uses OpenGL. Yes, WoW can run on OpenGL, but from what I've read it's not always easy to enable it. Comparing how a DirectX game runs to how an OpenGL game runs is comparing apples to oranges.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

OK, well, the HijackThis deal detected that I had nothing out of the ordinary going on with my computer (and I don't run anything else while running COH), and here's the COH Helper log

The issue you are having is related to your graphic driver. Vista don't handle the 186.xx driver very well.
If you roll back to version 185.85 I think you should be good.
You should also turn off Bloom, Depth of Field, and Desaturation. They can cause all sorts of wonkiness. Looks like you'll have to enable Advanced Graphics Options first.
Updating my graphics driver fixed everything! Thanks guys
I would also recommend upgrading Vista to Service Pack 2. It seems to help with game stability.

Just for the record, Hijack This doesn't tell you anything is wrong. So I'm guessing you thought it did, or you went through it yourself? Just curious.
August 31, 2012. A Day that will Live in Infamy. Or Information. Possibly Influence. Well, Inf, anyway. Thank you, Paragon Studios, for what you did, and the enjoyment and camaraderie you brought.
This is houtex, aka Mike, signing off the forums. G'night all. - 10/26/2012
Well... perhaps I was premature about that whole 'signing off' thing... - 11-9-2012
I'm dealing with a very red game right now, and I have no idea why. I've got a decent graphics card that used to run COH perfectly, but having recently replaced the hard drive gives me this mess.

After installing the new harddrive, I went to NVidia's website and reinstalled the proper drivers, and I'm running Age of Conan just fine, so can anyone explain this redness to me?
