So technically, here in California, it's still Friday (granted it's not the work day anymore, but who has time to type things during the work day anymore?).
So it's been a crazy, wacky, weird and wild week. Issue 20 Launched on Tuesday (yay!) and some issues followed (boo!). To give everyone a quick run down:
- Mac Black Screen issues with players using ATI Radeon GX Cards is still being investigated.
- Issues with players character slots, both purchased and veteran rewarded, have been resolved. If there are any lingering issues with this, please be sure to file a support ticket ASAP.
- Issues with players being removed from Incarnate Trials inadvertently has been potentially resolved. We're still monitoring the situation, so if it happens to you following today's maintenance, be sure to report it here.
- We should have a fix very soon for players losing their Incarnate Bonus after dying during an Incarnate Trial.
- We've been having a great time during our impromptu server downtime UStream chats, although we discovered that some artists have a thing for moonrocks evidently... o.0
- A great way to know if and when we're starting a UStream cast is to follow us on Twitter or to "Like" the official City of Heroes Facebook page. Actually it's great to follow both of those options to keep up on everything CoH as it happens!
- The Community Team will be keeping an eye on things over the weekend, and should we have any updates on fixes we're working on, we'll be sure to share them with you ASAP!

I've seen one system that a co-worker was working on as a side job that continuously threw errors after installing SP3. After removing a few hundred bits of malware using various methods (slave hard drive to another computer - scan and remove, put back in original computer and boot to safe mode - scan and remove, boot into Windows normally - scan and remove) and then uninstalling SP3, removing about 40 more malware items and defragging the hard drive then reinstalling SP3 the computer runs fine and has for over a year.
I have yet to see a system "bricked" by upgrading to SP3.
I've heard reports of it, but most of them were discovered to have been caused by other existing problems that weren't resolved before the upgrade.
As Kitsune Knight says, turning on your computer could turn it into a brick. But ultimately such statements are quite silly. -

The forums have also been down for me for the last 2 hours or so.
No one can access the online store. The Account Server is offiline while they are trying to fix some problems with the store and character slots. There are some other problems as well.

People misinterpreting or misreading a badge description doesn't constitute griefing.
Not sure why you couldn't find it on Paragon Wiki (which is part of the Titan Network BTW) since this page is labeled Issue 20 Badges.
I typed in one of the badge names in the Search box and this is what came up. I also typed Pacification Grenades in the Search box and this was one of two results that came up. -
Are you running 32-bit Vista or 64-bit Vista? If you are running 64-bit Vista then you are trying to install the wrong drivers.

2 hours after starting the update and I'm still only at 85% completed. ~20 minutes of download left at the current speed and then it has to apply the update.
The pre-download system would likely have had me in the game in a very short time tonight. -
After an hour and fifteen minutes, I'm finally bouncing between 39-45 KBs/sec. Currently at 51% completed.
This pretty much matches the experiences I reported with the speeds when testing the new Launcher.
Guess it's a good thing I'm on the annual payment plan and I'm not up for renewal until November. Maybe by then the Launcher will have finished the download. -

Making these lists is a great way to participate in the CoH Community because:

- I enjoy making fun of devs
- As a small child in rural Sasketoon Canadia I often enjoyed venturing out into the wilderness and poking bears repeatedly until they roared with rage.

Texas Justice L50 Fire/Device Blaster -
As Tex said, if you were able to play before installing the Launcher it should still be able to play. I have a test system with an integrated X1250 graphics chipset using the Legacy 9.11 drivers. I've successfully launched the game using the new Launcher.
Since you give no information about your system, just make sure you are following the links dealing with troubleshooting the Launcher on the Support site.
Here's one of Zombie Man's posts with those links.

And I still disagree. The badge is to save the PPD that are laying on the ground, but they are not necessarily dead. The bug/issue is the fact that escorts and other objectives now get damaged by AoE damage before you have a chance to even locate them, which causes these PPD to be killed (and then vanish from the map). When that happens, the objective becomes impossible to complete, and sometimes it's out of our hands.
From what you describe, yes, it is something that needs to be looked at and probably changed.
