If you are talking strictly about screen size, yes, there are command line switches you can add to the shortcut to set the screen size.
Create separate shortcuts to launch the game for each monitor and add the switches using the instructions below to set the screen size for each one.
If you are using the NCSoft Launcher, here are the instructions that Leandro posted for someone else:
Quote:You don't have to mess with the registry. Are you using the NCsoft Launcher? If so, click the arrow pointing down in "CITY OF HEROES" and select Properties; then add this to "Extra Command Line Parameters":
-screen 1920 1080
That assumes you are using 1920x1080 as your display resolution, put whatever resolution you want in there instead.
If you are using the old style launcher, you have to edit your shortcut and add the parameters at the end.
If you are still using the original CoH Updater, you can use the instructions from Paragon Wiki in the Launching the Game section on this page.
You could also do it by exporting and importing the registry settings before starting the game. You'd have to get the settings you want, go into the registry to the CoH keys and export them to a .reg file on your desktop (name it for the monitor to make it easy to recognize) then change the settings so they are set for the other monitor and export the registry keys (named for this monitor). When you get ready to play, import the .reg file by double-clicking the appropriate file for that monitors settings then launch the game.
You can even do this if you use only one monitor but like having higher graphics settings for normal play and a lower setting for raids or other lag inducing play. For a while I had a .reg file I loaded prior to Hami Raids to lower all of my graphics settings and a separate .reg file for my normal solo play with high graphics settings. I just imported whichever .reg file I needed before starting the game. -
Quote:Why do you have to have it running in the background? The performance and gaming experience has diminished noticeably since I have to have that damn memory leaking/lag causing/cookie munching/activity tracking/trojan-like NCSoft Launcher running in the background. It might not be intentionally malicious, but stupid is as stupid does.
There are settings to have it close after launching the game. -
Zwafflehorst,
Are there any plans to port the existing characters from the EU Test server to either the (formerly NA) Training Room or the GR Beta server? -
Quote:Zwiffenpuff, would you explain this please? What ARE the normal channels and how do we file an appeal? So a few things here:
- Please refrain from posting accusations of exploitation. If you believe someone is exploiting, go through the normal channels and file an appeal regarding it.
If you are referring to the /petition process as being the normal channels, how do we file an appeal? -
I've already wished you a Happy Birthday elsewhere, but it's worth repeating.
Happy Birthday and enjoy your trip. -
Quote:The specs for this laptop show that the display is capable of either 1920 x 1080 or 1600 x 900, depending on which 17" screen was selected for the build.Well my first question is what resolution is your normal desktop running at? You have an Nvidia 550 which is a very powerful card and very capable of running very high resolution monitors but your CoH Helper report doesn't show what this is.
A Simple way to find your current resolution -Minimize all your windows until you are looking at a clean desktop and the right click anywhere. This will bring up a menu where ever your clicked. Look down this menu until you see "Screen Resolution" near the bottom of the list. Left click this and another window will pop up listing your Monitor Brand and Model, your screen resolution, and orientation.
I suspect that your resolution is 2400ishx1600ish or higher which is making the CoH screen appear very small as it is running in 800x600.
If this is the case the solution is going to be changing the CoH resolution, but unfortunately the only method I am aware of to do that is from inside the game. I'll do a bit of digging around and see if I can come up with anything. I know there used to be a 3rd party program that allowed you to change some of the in game settings but I don't think it is supported anymore.
Meanwhile, if anyone else knows how to actively alter the game settings (Screen Res, Windowed/Full Screen Mode, etc) from outside the game UI please post it here. -

Nice to find out who is behind the Tunnel Rat name.
Glad you finally got a redname to post with. -
Something I haven't been able to check but that might be of use would be to log in with a different Administrator account if one exists.
I know that I can run MBAM on an account that has domain administrator privileges and remove a small amount of the malware so that I can then log in to the infected account and run the exefix registry entries and then run MBAM as that user.
Of course, with the way our domains are configured I have to temporarily add the users domain account to the domain administrators group to allow them to access the registry for the exefix to be able to work.
I haven't tried this with a computer that is not on a domain but it may work in this case as well.
Just another thought I had. -
Quote:One thing that will generally get the Menu to show is to start the computer and pull the power cable from the computer as soon as you see Windows starting to load. Plug the power cable back in and restart the computer. If you get to the point where Windows starts to load, pull the cable again, plug it back in and restart. For some reason, my keyboard goes inactive during part of the boot-up process ( all or most of my usb ports seem to do this), so hitting f8 isn't working. I've had this usb issue for a long time, don't know why it happens.
Is there another way to get into safe mode? I am able to get into setup and boot menu, but it seems like the time window for hitting f8 is in the period when my keyboard goes dead. (I can tell it's inactive because the lights under the keys go out, as do the lights on my Fang controller)
There are ways to get into Safe Mode by manually editing some files (since the normal methods to edit them aren't available due to the malware) but I won't go into them with people who aren't "computer savvy in the least" as you stated your case to be.
I have to agree with Memphis Bill's assessment and suggestions in his post after my previous response. I'd also agree that it's likely not necessary to do a reinstall. The only way I could recommend that would be if there was no other choice at all.
Another option may be to find a local computer tech to have them work on it for you. A good place to check is with the local school districts Technology department as many of the Techs may do work on the side, usually at very reasonable rates. Also, check the classifieds of the local newspapers as you will often find some good techs advertising there. If you can, get recommendations from co-workers, friends, or similar to find reliable techs that do good work.
I'd recommend against taking it to the repair department of any of the national chain computer parts stores. I won't name any names, but you can likely figure out who these might be on your own. -

Today wasn't to put in a fix. It was to remove a filtering request that was causing even more lag in Leagues and to resolve a Database issue and a Crash issue.
The patch notes state that an optimized filter will be added in a future patch. -
Boot the computer into Safe Mode and then run your anti-malware program.
To boot into Safe Mode, as the computer is starting, repeatedly press the F8 key until you get a DOS-like screen with several boot options. Select Safe Mode and press Enter.
EDIT: Since some motherboard BIOS options use F8 to select a Boot Device, if you get a screen asking which device to boot from select the Hard Drive, press Enter and then again begin repeatedly pressing the F8 key to get the Boot Options menu. -
Quote:Are you looking for them to say something like the following post?
At least an attempt to fix, or acknowledgement that it sucks and your working on it, would be awesome at this point.
Quote:Hey guys,
Thanks to your feedback we believe we have tracked down the cause of this lag (we did something weird with Leagues), we're working to get this resolved on the live servers as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and most of all your feedback on this situation.
Guess they anticipated you wanting them to say something. -
Quote:Looks like an acknowledgment to me. From April 26.Temp travel powers, AND TRAVEL POWERS THAT PEOPLE PAYED REAL MONEY FOR are still not working in PvP zones.
I ask again, is this WAI or is it still broken. Would be nice if SOMEBODY would at least aknowledge this issue.
Hello?
Anybody there?

That answer still stands and is correct.
Of course, if someone has asked the OCR team to unsticky it and they decided not to, we are likely going to be stuck with it. -

That would be quite a yolk to bear.
Sorry, as you can see in the post you quoted, I had already pre-emptively voided that answer.
