Quote:Ok you really don't know what you are talking about.Ice Armor isn't new as Energy Armor is a cheap knockoff that is all. Regen definitely isn't at the bottom but rather I put it in the middle of the pack.
1. Nin
2. Willpower
3. SR
4. Ice Armor
5. Regen
6. Dark Armor
7. Energy armor
8. Electric Armor
Yes low HP hurts Regen Stalkers, but it is even worse for Dark Armor, and Electric Armor. Energy Armor's Overload is what keeps Energy Armor afloat or else it would be at the bottom.
Its quite clear at this point. -

Now having played both a KM/EA and a KM/Ice Armor at 50 with purpled builds (used my KM/EA copies to reslot both toons). I can tell you that they play rather similarlly.
The same things that hurt EA hurt ice. EA can hit higher numbers of global recharge due to having higher base Defense numbers, while Ice has that lovely icy bastion to fall back on.
EA I recommend skipping disrupt (especially on KM due to the hidden state BU refresh feature) because a 5 target minion stun just insn't worth the loss in burst. But on ICE you would be insane to skip CHilling embrace, just don't pair it with KM.
The EA buffs aren't a DUD, they massively increased the ability of the set.
The uninfored biased LOLEASUCKS stuff really has got to stop, or at least go to beta and build one up before saying so. -
Quote:You keep talking like you have actually tested it yourself, yet I know you haven't.EA is an inferior clone of Ice Armor, especially with Icy Bastion. I am laughing now because the improvements people have been waiting for EA turns out to be huge duds.
I mean you even mention ELA as being bad, yet I know its not when built right.
Have you even played Ice Armor at high level yet? -
Quote:Have you tested both these sets with IOs and SOs?Ice Armor will blow Energy Armor out of the water.
Sad, that Energy Armor will be at the bottom with ELA for stalkers, oh well.
I have. You might be surprized the answer isn't as clear cut as you think.
Especially since EA is a clone of Ice Armor. -
Ew Stalker DB blows....
Why not wait for street justice? -
Quote:I wouldn't say blows it out of the water actually.Street Justice is pure win.
Ice Armor blows Energy armor out of the water. Not even a contest.
Seeing as my Sloppy KM/EA
Has Perma Energize (40% cost reduction, w/Set bonuses Constant 25hp/s regen).
The heal is up more often too.
120% global recharge (which I will increase once I finalize build)
Higher base defenses(but your beefier Energy Absorb makes this up)
Gets slightly less defense from Energy Drain, but more energy.
Has similar resistance numbers.
More importantly though:
Doesn't look stupid like Ice Armor :P
I would say Icy Bastion puts you ahead, but then you fall so far behind based on how ugly you look
EDIT: I would have listed distrup but its ugly and sucks. -
Its not something Imperfect Lotus regularly uses.

Quote:If you guys are happy with how KM stalkers perform on live, please make bug reports about the removal of the Concentrated strike 100% hidden build up recharge. It doesn't get Nut... er, Rib Cracker.
But mostly, it's because they kept all the finishers in and the combo builders (other than Rib Cracker, which carries a damage and resistance debuff on the target, which is why I want it more than the animation) are pretty much swappable. Given how Electric Melee and Kinetic Melee were ported, hopefully this is an indication of a new direction in Stalker powersets rather than an oversight on the part of the powers team.
There is no patch note so I hope it's a bug, let's try to get it fixed before it hits live. -
Where are you people.
Yeah I know its a dying dead community but there only seems to be myself and Jibako posting ANYTHING stalker related overthere.
I have a feeling if I didn't copy over my Kinetic melee the Concentrated Strike Bug/Nerf would have made it to live, because no one is testing anything or providing feedback from the unique stalker viewpoint.
(I have PM'd Zwillinger, and was told the KM issue was passed on, here is hoping).
Street justice is turning out to be another set that is ported to stalkers as an afterthought. Whereas Brutes scrappers and tanks get Combat Awareness, the devs tied the same Combat level mulplier to Assassin strike instead on stalkers since the AT is Limited by the AS, BU, Placate limitation.
They didn't even give AS 3 combat levels but 2 instead, yet there is no discussion about it because stalkers are non-existant on the beta forums.
I am asking you guys to COPY your stalkers to Beta and test them out. Make Street Justice stalkers and provide feedback.
Lets avoid being forgotten, and avoid getting another Dual Blades in the stalker AT. -
-
If the devs do not fix stalker kinetic melee I will be re rolling it as a street justice.
On live concentrated strike recharges build up from a hidden state, on beta it only works on base crit chance. Its a rather massive nerf/bug.
I hope they fix it -
Quote:Has the NDA been lifted?Anyone who's been looking at the open beta forums today knows I'm not a fan of these changes, but here at least is how they pan out on the ol' handy-dandy spreadsheets:
There were some problems with the math on my former spreadsheets, which have now been corrected on these:
Peacebringer Analysis
Warshade Analysis
The formulae for my calculations are located at the top of each page where relevant, and you can copy/paste the build in the note of the yellow box at the top marked... "BUILD" for a peek at the SO builds I used.
Here's the rundown:
Peacebringers
Single Target DPS Potential:
Human: 117
Dwarf: 82
Nova: 88
AoE DPS Potential:
Human: 170
Dwarf: 137
Nova: 173
Max Survivable DPS:
Human: 165
Dwarf: 331
Nova: 106
Fatal Burst:
Human: 5387
Dwarf: 10773
Nova: 3859
Warshades
Single Target DPS Potential:
Human: 186
Dwarf: 196
Nova: 182
AoE DPS Potential:
Human: 264
Dwarf: 302
Nova: 383
Max Survivable DPS:
Human: 1 Foe=99 10 Foes=876
Dwarf: 1 Foe=345 10 Foes=1506
Nova: 1 Foe=82 10 Foes=868
Fatal Burst:

Dwarf: 1 Foe=6476 10 Foes=9169
Nova: 1 Foe=1478 10 Foes=3941
So... yeah. There they are.
Are we free to talk about the beta? -
Edit whoops.
Never noticed there was no way to delete a thread. -
Thanks, looking forward to trying my EA stalker tonight.

Hey guys can someone share the beta character copy link for me?
-
Quote:Traps/Ice/Power:I'm just getting back into the game and it seems like Defenders have been given a bit of love, so its time for my first try.
Does anyone have a /ice build they would recommend that is a solid all around performer? I solo quite a bit but I also would want to be useful in groups!
Thanks in advance!!
Mez Protection
Easy to Softcap to all types and Positions.
Easy to get to perma hasten.
Its like have two debuffs sets
Easy to solo.
/Thread. -
I run a Plant/Earth/Mace SLE softcapped permadom on Lethal Farms.
I can finish a +2x8 Map (Finish as in hit 750 tickets) in 1 minute 30 seconds on average.
The plant (Roots spamming, Creepers, Seeds) protects me and kills the LTS and Minions,
The earth Side (Mudpots, Heavy mallet, Stone Mallet, Seismic Smash) destroys the bosses. Its rather nice.
Now this toon is built for regular PVE (Hence the def cap, if I took fire mastery It would be even faster. -
Quote:People believe this dreck? It's a normal human reaction - the vast majority of people like to see the good side win, and the evil side lose - heroes are winners, and villains are losers.
You may think this is how the world works from watching movies and cartoons but honestly, the shrewd people who are willing to make the decisions that many can't (and that many would deem "evil') are the ones who drive our civilization.
Good is generally stupid and don't realize progress is made on the backs of their fellow man.
I loved the Phipps arch, because he did a necessary job. Arachnos needed the Freaks to be exactly what they were (uneducated louts) because it helped promote the orginization's goals.
I love the Peter Themari arcs because destroying a fledgling force of "good" is exactly what a Villian should do.
The new writers are doing evil quite well though:
Have you guys run the Morality misison where you basically murder this sidekick's grandmother to teach him a lesson? I think its a vigilante one and its fantastic.
Dean McArthur is a fantastic Power trip
The legacy chain fella on the docs in sharkhead (sorry I forgot his name) has one of the best arcs in the game,
where you discover more about the well, the Coralax and take power through manipulation and betrayl.....
My villians aren't blood foaming at the mouth types, they just understand that Heroes are just another word for stupid. -
Quote:Oooh someone talked about a stalker outside the stalker forum.I fail to understand the point of this thread.
If you don't like Blasters, fine don't doesn't bother people who do mostly.
If you want Blasters to be fixed... suggest some fixes.
Personally I think they're great as is, better than a stalker any day.
A fairy got her wings! -
Just increase the radius on the stalker crit bonus from Teamates.
Good lord Thats all that the crappy AT can expect to get from the devs because its not alot of work. -
It will be fine at lower difficulties, but you will bring little to a team and will not be a fast soloer.
-
Quote:Very clever.Limit Inspirations to 4 or 5 at a time each, make the Brute damage cap lower at lower levels like other ATs, scale the Fury bonus by level somehow, cancel Inspirations when zoning, only allow a single ambush to be triggered per boss or object, probably more stuff. But no matter what they do, people who want the best rewards will find an efficient way to get them. There will always be a big difference between what the devs design as a fun way to play the game and attract players, and what the min/maxers will do to get the best rewards.
I wonder if this will work
*Goes back to farming with his plant Dom* -
Stalkers do less damage than tanks?
Really?
