Quote:I think I've pinpointed when this happened and fixed it today. It was doing its intermittent slowdown thing when something occurred to me. So I went into the launcher and added the -renderthread 1 to the launch properties since I recall using on the direct desktop shortcut before we were forced to use the launcher, and when I started the game back up and played it for a good while longer it was no longer doing the intermittent slowdown thing.Since issue 20 or 21, I don't exactly recall when it started, I've been running into intermittent instances where the game starts running like its in virtual molasses for 10-30 secs. It does it in the game, during character creation, and even at the character select screen.

Because it would make a great kung fu sash with the martial arts robes.

Great, you've caused me to go to The Evil Site and now I'm beginning to think that a case of executive meddling led to sudden sequel kick the disposable woman and stuff her in the fridge syndrome.

I hate that they make so many concessions to custom team building that the potential convenience of the LFG system is rendered moot. They could have just *not* implemented the LFG system and put an iTrial contact in the game world (or even just the contact list of level 50s) instead.

Yeah, even with the level shift that one killed my Blaster. I couldn't do any damage to Hero 1 (even with Build Up, Aim, and several reds I couldn't get him below ~90% health) and he could smash me quite efficiently. I believe I auto-completed that one, which makes it better than the Trapdoor battle despite being even harder.

Also I don't understand why SB catches so much flak. It's an awesome buff and I can't seem to get enough of it. I also enjoy the +speed buff along with the +rech, +recov. Sure the +speed throws you off initially if you were already moving but once you realize it's on you I don't see any downsides besides how much quicker everyone can finish the task at hand.

I agree that some of the unlocks are pretty annoying...
But I seem to recall a time when the Patron arc spawned AVs and you just had to suck it up.
Quote:I couldn't beat him at -1 with my Electric/Energy Blaster. Even with him knocked into the lava I couldn't do enough damage to beat him, and after a bit it really became a losing battle. After I got my +1 level shift I was able to go back and beat him.I don't get people not being able to solo Trapdoor. I have soloed him with literally dozens of characters (Defenders, Corruptors, Masterminds, etc.) and often with SOs.
Set difficulty to -1/1, speed through the base to Trapdoor. Defeat his first 'replication', then smack Trapdoor in about 30 seconds (with any AT).
I could see him causing problems solo at +2 or +3, but he is really easy to solo at -1.
It was an even more pointless endeavor with my FF/Rad Defender.
My Dark/Dark Corruptor came the closest of my ranged characters, but then the Inspirations wore off and he killed me in two hits. When I went back he had so many duplicates that I just logged off in disgust.
My Spines/Dark Scrapper couldn't do it, but he's a special case. I suspect if he had a more normal build he could've done it.
My WP/SS Tanker was able to do it pretty easily with Rage and a couple of reds.
I expect that with a bit of luck, if my Fire/Rad Controller were level 50 he'd have a chance. -
I play on Virtue (which was unofficially designated as the RP server pre-release) and I used to run into RP in teams all the time, as well as see Broadverts for RP superteams in Atlas on a regular basis. I don't run into either anywhere near as often, but they still happen from time to time. The best bet, I'd say, would be to find an active supergroup that favours RP - whatever server you choose.
And to do that, I'd probably start by asking around the forum of whichever server I was looking to play on. -

I also occasionally start up the game and it won't let me past login, insisting that I have to enter an account name and password as if the fields are empty. I have to exit the game and restart it in order to fix the problem. This issue definitely didn't start til Freedom went live. -

It's not so much the anchor death that bugs me so much as the incessant mez-detoggling I experience.

Caring about this game.
Letting myself be goaded on the forums.
Ordering an Eggnog Latte from Starbucks every year during the holiday season because I've forgotten how much it sucked when I had one the previous year. -
Or they could send tells to the people who are frequently advertising LFMs for DfB. But in either case, what then is the point of the LFG feature as that sort of team-forming was going on just as (in)efficiently before the LFG feature existed.

I hate Striga - it's an annoying zone with perhaps the most disappointing TF I've ever been on. I only ever enjoyed The Hollows up to Frostfire. And while I like Croatoa as a backdrop and think its Giant Monsters are interesting, I largely don't care for the enemies found there and hate the faerie ring outdoor instances.
I find Faultline interesting, though I don't often seek to do the arcs there these days. I wish there was more done with those odd random tentacles that pop up. -
Quote:Yeah, I've never liked the way salvage is handled. I think it's senselessly diverse and specific. If I had my druthers it would at least be condensed down to six pieces - generic Arcane or Tech salvage of each rarity tier.As in-world game logic goes, that particular horse left the barn in CoH beta. Why are steam-powered robots dropping Facial Reconstruction tech? Why do Council drop training in Back Alley Brawler attack styles? Sure, with SOs and the like there's a nod towards appropriateness of drops in the very broad sense of origins, but some of that really makes no sense at all. Why is my fist brawler with the power of the netherworld slotting Internal Ammunition?
Given that we've had to accept such things all along, I hardly single the Invention system out for its lack of fictional sensibility. -
I haven't been able to reliably get into a DfB by queuing up solo since a couple of weeks after it went live. Indeed, lately I've had as much luck with it as I have getting into iTrials like that. Which kinda robs the LFG feature of its usefulness.

I would largely disagree, and in the instances where I might agree I'd likely rather see the powers changed to KnockUp rather than have their Knockback nerfed.
