Quote:There was a vote a long time ago for which melee set we wanted most. I seem to recall that what we chose wasn't what got made, but I'm sure someone around here better recalls the specifics.... then where oh where is our gorram MOON ZONE that was voted as our favorite new zone for the Devs to create, what, like 4 or 5 years ago...?
Seriously... We're gonna have all these SPACEMEN (and women) running around on EARTH.

This has been an oft-requested option over the years. If they ever get customisation for Power Pools into the game we may see it happen. But it's highly unlikely that they'll just remove the current effect for everybody.

Quote:Given his earlier +1 to Doctor Roswell's post, I assumed that particular reply was in response to/agreeing with Zortel and Techbot.Someone wants to make a Roman Centuion-themed character.
You go to the character creator and...there are no Roman parts. You have to get your Roman Centurion to level 35 and run the ITF to unlock them. So for the first 35 levels your 'Roman' is walking around with...medieval or Samurai armor.
Now do you get the logic? -

I'll definitely be grabbing the Roman pack. I dislike Cimerora in general, and any use I'd have for the pieces would generally start at level 1.

Quote:I wanted more for my character from the story, but I generally don't care about the signature NPCs. I like it when I come across a story that makes me care one way or the other, but I'm so used to not caring that I'd be perfectly fine with all the signature NPCs getting vaporized with little fanfare.Like you, I can't speak for everyone, but I never got the impression that people who wanted more for their characters out of the story - people like me - actually wanted to destroy all the signature characters. I'm convinced that we wanted quite the opposite, to be given the opportunity to proceed past where the signature characters stop.

I play numerous characters, and I've played some of them far more than I've played my "main" character. For me, my "main" is simply my namesake character and the one to whom I best relate. I tend to make a version of him in any given game I play that allows character creation. My universal alter ego.

My reply in this thread prompted me to finally get around to re-rolling Tenzhi. I don't exactly regret it, but reclaiming level 38 seems so far away...
-
It seemed appropriate to the character from what little I've seen of him. He comes across as a bit of a pompous weasel to me.
-
My main got put aside (mostly) a while ago. Ever since Instant Healing got changed from a toggle to a click. I keep meaning to reroll him, but whenever I contemplate it I can't decide what to reroll him as. Willpower would be the most natural choice, but I find myself contemplating Super Reflexes as well. And I'm not sure I want to stick with Martial Arts, either - Kinetic Melee, Street Justice, and soon Staff Fighting are all possible choices. Not to mention a change of AT might be in order.

Quote:Putting aside that your lifeless body could potentially be arranged to visit Japan, the visit itself is optional, ergo so are any requirements for it.Which is why I clarified the statement with the word "entirely".
If I lose my life, I lose all the things that go with it. For example, given that I wish the visit Japan this year, my life is not optional for that task, it is, in fact, required.
If I wish to make a character using those pieces it's the same as wishing to visit Japan.Quote:If you miss out on those costume pieces or wolf, the only thing you don't have are those costume pieces or wolf. They are entirely optional.
Life, as I said, is optional. One major focus of life is to seek to improve our options. It may be ridiculous, but it's life. -

Quote:Supporting the status quo just because it's the status quo is ridiculous. But then, I don't feel entitled to everything being released how I want it (again Celestial/Fire&Ice) so having some exclusivity in how things are obtained is basically keeping the status quo.
I complained about the Tier 9 costume unlocks, too. I have them and I'll still complain about the methodology.Quote:Why should you be able to just unlock costumes in a poof while others have to wait or spend a sizable wad of points (haha Celestial/Fire&Ice again)? Because you're VIP?
And I've also complained about the costume pieces mired in the incarnate stuff. For numerous reasons beyond just the fact that they have to be unlocked via Incarnate content.Quote:PS: I like the Elemental Order set to (mainly just the belt and gloves) but see no difference in locking them in SPs vs locking other sets behind incarnate content which is itself locked behind being a VIP. I say, tuff cookies to you and the rest. At least SPs come with other stuff my lowbies can use.
But at least the Roman pieces that I've complained about appear to be getting a conventional release allowing them to be used from level 1. -
Given that you can't attack with it on, it seems to me like it is pretty much unsuppressed movement.

Quote:Absolutely. There's some nice costume pieces in that set, but I'm not gonna gamble for them. Put them up as a bundle and I'll buy them in a heartbeat. This has absolutely nothing to do with 'selfish' or 'want now!' or any of that utter guff.
This has EVERYTHING to do with "I will put points down when I so choose and I will receive costume parts or something equivalent for my points. I will NOT and flat out refuse to put points down with a CHANCE to get what I actually want, and run the high risk of getting absolute dross that holds interest for me only in negative amounts."
I would like the Elemental Order costume out of the pack, and that is it. The other stuff holds NO interest for me. Ergo, I refuse to have to gamble for what I want. That is not acceptable. Just because you've needed something to waste money on and gamble with doesn't mean everyone does. And I KNOW I'm not alone in this, going by the Beta board responses. -
Quote:That would generally be my preference as well. Still, it wouldn't surprise me to see it as a power. In the case of jetpacks I'd much prefer to see them added as costume pieces like wings rather than individual powers.
Spazfrag FTW. -
No kidding, the world would be a much better place if everyone just accepted things because the people in charge said they were working as intended.

I'm betting the "i" is for "ice" which should really have been "c" for "cold".

Quote:If they could just manage to produce animation that was decent, I'd say going animated would be the best option. The technology is currently convincing, but JUST barely convincing and there are times where is is a glaring effect. The problem isn't the tech though, the tech is there, the problem is the cost of that tech. In a decade, maybe, they could pull it off cheaply enough for a TV show, but as it stands now, it would cost a season or two's entire budget just for the age effects.

Kinda surprised there were no lion dancers.
