That would just mean more power pool powers I'd have to squeeze in. Probably in lieu of travel powers.
And in other news, boxers do a lot of running and other fitness training to give them the stamina to fight for more rounds without tiring as fast. -
I have a character villain-side whose search tag is "needs XP badly" that got propositioned for such a transaction. But personally, I don't think it's worth it to pay to be on *any* team.
-
So I got a blind invite to an AE boss farm while playing my Energy blaster. Sure, whatever, I don't care - I just want to blast things and get XP right now anyway. The team's halfway through the map already, and I fly up and start blasting away with single target attacks, only hitting my explosive attack when the earth controllr drops his AoE immobilize.
We kill a couple of groups like this and then someone gets extra aggro and we have two groups and people are taking a bit too much damage so I hit Aim and Buildup and Nova, taking out a third of the two groups and tenderizing the rest quite well for easy cleanup. Or so I thought. A moment later the leader tells me "Don't use your primary, seriously."
Out of all the bad teams I've been on, that was the most idiotic request I'd ever seen. Makes me long for the days when there were actually teams a-plenty doing radio missions or story arcs. I suppose I coulda stuck around and just used Electric Fence and Air Superiority, but it just left a bad taste in my mouth. -

but our heroes are in a City

A city with far too many frelling caves. -
My only concer other than how extensive it will be, is whether they'll make us jump throughhoops on a character by character basis in order to unlock it or something silly like that.
-
I used to get invited to PUGs all the time. Seems like I rarely get those invites these days unless I'm on a mid-high level character and happen to be in Atlas. And then it is, of course, a let's-crowd-around-this-pillar-of-light-and-do-boring-outdoor-mission-maps team.

And never have to think twice about another super hero mmo promising all the same crap this game already has >.>

Plus emission points and such. Unless/until they manage to work such things in over here. Still, I applaud the effort that must have gone into it. Indeed, I'd rather have I16 than 14 and 15. It's probably too much to hope that it gets here before September.
I'm curious as to the extent it will go. Will we be able to colour the various stone armours? Will coloration affect Kheldian forms? White WSs and Purply PBs? Will making certain powers black cause them to appear invisible? -
[ QUOTE ]
Would the SuppressCloseFx command get rid of it? I know it's worked on Blazing Aura (for stopping migraines) for a few people, but I don't know if Granite follows the same rules as other toggle armor graphics.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm no expert, but I believe Granite Armor actually swaps out the character model like the Kheldian forms and thus isn't affected by the SuppressCloseFx distance. -
I was having similar problems on my previous PC running Windows XP. After that got stolen, I acquired a laptop with better specs and a better Nvidia card with Windows Vista and was having the same problem. In one of the threads around here, someone suggested that the ndisplay-driver-recovered crashes were a timing issue and to try underclocking the video card a tiny amount. So I downloaded whatever extra kibble it is from nvidia that enables those advanced settings in the Nvidia control panel and underclocked just a smidge and haven't had any crashes since.

As long as it has a good DPA, I'd use it. Though sheer coolness has its place... cyborg pack's self destruct comes to mind.
[/ QUOTE ]
Self Destruct is awesome because it will go off even if you die. During a recent near-team-wipe my Controller was about to die and I activated Self Destruct right before I took the last hit. So I stood there, dead, with half the team unconscious and blew up, taking out enough of the group that those left could finish the mission while everyone was laughing about it. Hopefully that isn't a "bug" they "fix" because it is a very cool aspect of the power. Someday I'd like to have a character who can immediately follow that up with Rise of the Phoenix.
As for the cast time on making an origami crane out of a car and hitting someone with it... I imagine it might be almost as long as Propel. -
[ QUOTE ]
There's only so many variations you can do on the "burning you with my hands" routine before it gets boring. It makes sense to me, personally... you can manipulate fire, so why not be able to make fiery shapes?
[/ QUOTE ]
Someone with Super Strength could make an origami crane out of a car before hitting you with it, too. So why not? Because sometimes I just want to hit you with a car, that's why. -

Being quit of the broken, boring endurance mechanic is a goal in itself.

Hear! Hear! -
I enjoyed my Spines/Dark up through level 43, but I wasn't playing a normal build. Some cruel person made a hilarious "Toggleman" post that inspired me to build a character with nearly all toggles. One of these days I should try to finish getting him to 50 just so I can say I did it.
I'd probably have an easier time of it if I made an alternate build for the character, but that would defeat the purpose! -
Sometimes. Sometimes I just want a nice, burn your face off melee set without any fancy constructing swords out of fire.
And sometimes all I want is a nice fire sword, spreading cauterized gashes wherever I go.
It always bugged me that the two ideas are crammed together in the same set. As I inevitably want to skip one or the other types of attack on concept alone.
Post-post Pre-post Warning: There is nothing particularly useful contained in this post, just a mild expression of irritation. -

I miss pohsyb. I never see him on anymore.

He's busy having NERF gun fights with his shotgun against Graham

Actually I found out this morning that he's been away for 3 weeks on his honeymoon. So you guys should start a thread for that or something.

Those are some powerful, long range NERF guns! -

The whole character control argument is total bs. I've been playing a blaster with SS for a few weeks now, and when I get SBed, it brings me up to the speed cap of about 78mph. I can still control my guy fine.
[/ QUOTE ]
Before I upgraded to a better computer, there were times when SB would make controlling my character very difficult. Moving too fast would sometimes cause FPS to drop to 10 or less, which means tapping in any given direction could be like teleporting into a group of enemies. So I can sympathise with control issues brought about by speed.
[ QUOTE ]
I also have a decently high level grav/kin troller. IMO, the only person that deserves to constantly ask about SB is a stone tank.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't think anyone deserves to constantly ask. When I played my stone tank, I'd plod along happily without SB.
My Plant/Kin doesn't currently have SB and I don't believe I was planning on getting it with her. Or ID for that matter. I wouldn't necessarily expect other Kinetics characters to have it, either. -

However, they're pretty busy working on I15 right now
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, I15 has so much content in it that it's undoubtedly consuming all of their time and manpower. -
The game only marginally supports joysticks. As far as I've seen, in order to have mouse control or get it to do something useful like recognize combined buttons for one input you need some sort of software to remap the controller to keys and mouse. I believe there's a third party program that does it for the 360 controller, but I use a Saitek controller and never needed it.

Well, I just finished setting up a new computer last night with Vista 64-bit and the SP2 update wasn't showing up.
Today when I logged in and checked for Updates it is now showing up for the x64 based systems.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hrm. Still no SP2 for me. -
This has cropped up over the past month or so.
When you login, the login site is a secure server "https" - as it should be. Normally, after logging in it would switch back to a normal http site, but lately it's been remaining an https which means I get security warnings that some of the content isn't secure on every page I try to load unless I manually change the "https" to "http" in the address bar.
A minor annoyance at best, but I thought I'd mention it. -

I so agree with this statement. Many here complain that they hate the lower levels because its the same thing over and over and it takes so long to get to the "GOOD" stuff.
[/ QUOTE ]
I find the entire game to be largely the same thing activity-wise. The "Good Stuff" would be powers and enhancements that make doing those activities less irritating and tedious. -

the hotfix:
I see Fix245313 and Fix233686
which one do i want for a Vista 32 bit system?
ty
[/ QUOTE ]
You don't. Instead, you want to go to Windows Update and check the 'important' updates. There you will (FINALLY!) find Vista SP2 which includes the hotfixes. Fully tested hotfixes, in fact.
I'm installing it now myself.
[/ QUOTE ]
Only for 32 bit, I take it? I have yet to see SP2 in the updates, anyway. -

Yeah, a lot of the people we used to hang with have left over the years. A lot have also been banned. I wonder, though, if anyone ever misses me
