Quote:Just turn it around on them. Clearly, it's the people who believe they're entitled to have things other people don't/can't that are the ones with a sense of entitlement. And an elitist one at that. Why is this always the same stupid argument people use? "Sense of entitlement"? Who has expressed any sense of entitlement to anything?
Saying "It'd be nice if we didn't have to wait for nice costume pieces" is not a sense of entitlement, and being told I have a "sense of entitlement" just because I think it would be nice if more people had things gets a bit tiresome. -
I don't generally target through another player. It seems potentially detrimental to me with very little benefit to be had.

Quote:I'm not sure it was ever changed. It's been that way since CoV came out at the very least. My Dark/Dark Corruptor's three cones always worked as I described. As as every AR, Archery, Dual Pistols, Sonic, Psy/Mental, Electric, Cold, and Fire cone I've used. I assume Energy Torrent and Throw Spines work as usual, also, but I can't personally verify those. I have used the Temp Power Plasmatic Taser, though, which I believe is pretty much just like Energy Torrent and it worked as I described.Seriously? I swear Energy Torrent and Throw Spines will stop after it hits its target. Unless something changed recently, I remember having to target the furthest mob with my Throw Spines in order to hit most of the mobs.
Even Melee cones I've used will hit enemies behind the one I target, though it's more difficult to do so with those. -
Quote:That's not my experience at all. Every ranged cone I've used hits out to its proper range even if I'm targetting an enemy point blank. If you pay attention to most cone powers, you'll notice that if you target the closest target, only those next to the closest target will be affected by the power, those further back will not be affected even though they are still within range; the effect just stops right at your target.

I don't hide because I almost exclusively PuG. If I don't feel like teaming for some reason, being unhidden simply means polite responses of declination to the few tells I receive.

A Mastermind named Gus Gorman has a program that siphons off the Prestige into his own villainous group's account. They're using the billions of Prestige gained in this fashion to build a super computer to defeat Statesman.

Dark Armor for Tankers and Scrappers has a stealth effect in it. As does the Dark Primary for Defenders.
There's also a few Stealth IOs. -
Indeed. One of my favourite things to do when I started playing this game was to join teams gathering to smite Giant Monsters. Now the Giant Monsters spawn and I rarely see any teams forming to kill them. At one time I joined a channel that was purportedly for Giant Monster slaying, but it availed me not.
I like the idea of adding badges for killing the GMs multiple times. And I like the idea of adding some sort of Accolade. More suitable rewards might be nice as well.
As for the zone events - I like the Deadly Apocalypse event in theory, though it rarely seems to pan out. The Rikti Invasions and Zombie Apocalypses would be alright if the game could properly keep up with power recharging and activation when the player gathering gets particularly large.
(The Zombie Apocalypse would be a lot more awesome if the zombies didn't spawn right around players like the Rikti Invasion, but rather spawned from several points in a zone and shuffled out attacking players, civilians, and NPCs alike, creating more zombies as they went (I'm envisioning an effect similar to the Lost Curing Wand wherein the zombie attacks an NPC and the NPC disappears and runs off while a new zombie is summoned in its place). As is it just feels like a smellier Rikti Invasion.) -
Quote:That could work rather well. Although it would undoubtedly lead to the power detoggling on its own at times.Which would make the suggestion of it detoggling entirely with movement even more viable, right? That way all you have to do is click the power once, and you can keep going until you move out of your teleport immobilization.
Quote:Ha. So many Granite Tankers and Brutes would raaaage. But it'd still be just teleporting, so I don't see why it shouldn't work with Granite/Rooted. -
Quote:And forgetting to toggle it off would cause more annoyance in an already moderately annoying power.I believe that having to toggle it off would require much less effort than having to click the power (or press a button if you've set up a bind) before every teleport, but I appreciate your input.

Quote:As I recall, FF spent a fair amount of that time at the crafting table crafting numerous recipes to sell the IOs on the market. IMO, that's far from "playing casually." As would be concentrated farming of AE for tickets to roll the recipes for said crafting. "Playing casually" is more than just a matter of time spent in the game.Read Fury Flechette's A Market Journal: From 0 to Millions and follow the advice there. Playing casually, just a few hours a day, Fury went from 0 to 1,030,858,048 (over 1 billion) in a week.

I prefer it not being a toggle. Changing it to a toggle wouldn't cut out much effort for me, and it would add the extra need to toggle the power off after use.

While I personally think the recharge time is a bit high and would like to see it reduced, I doubt it will happen and won't complain if it doesn't.

If I had a stun to stack with it, I'd probably take Oppressive Gloom. If the character was built so that the extra End drain wouldn't be an issue and I didn't have a stun to stack with OG then I might take Cloak of Fear over OG. If I was building Defense a bit, but wasn't going to hit the softcap, I'd definitely take CoF for the To-Hit Debuff (if I'm recalling correctly that it has one).
If I seem to be favouring CoF a bit in the above statement - on my level 50 Spines/Dark I've found OG's HP drain to occasionally be dangerous in large groups. Of course, it's a Toggle Man build so it lacks in efficiency in several areas. -
Such an option could be useful. For me, it would be most useful if the keymapping interface would accept multiple modifier keys in combination with regular keys (for instance: CTRL+ALT+1).

Quote:I don't expect it to "feel fresh" any more. The game is a mild, comfortable amusement that I indulge in when the odd mood strikes (often accompanied by an inspiration for a new character) or when I simply have naught else to do.o How do you, oh veterans of City of Heroes, make the game feel fresh, or at least somehow continue scrounging up fun?
Quote:o Do you have any suggestions as to how I can somehow make doing the same lower leveled content feel alright again (like, perhaps building a nifty A.E arc or something)?
Quote:o Do you have any suggestions as to how I can make the City of Heroes experience feel more social, friendly, and more like an M.M.O.R.P.G rather than a mental abuse machine? -
If having a green bar indicating my HP doesn't break my immersion, and having a blue bar indicating my Endurance doesn't either, then an indicator of XP and Level certainly won't bother me.

I think the character creation screen is my "go-to"

Quote:Some people have different priorities of importance, thus it's inherently subjective which abilities are "important". And they may prove to be a competent enough player even if their priorities differ from yours. Some sets have more important powers than others, so it depends on the set.
Quote:If you want to work out a widow build that does not take either Mind Link nor TT: Maneuvers and explain why you think it's a better build for not having those - I'll be happy to read it.
One perfectly valid reason could be "it's a better build because it doesn't have the power to make dancing purple shield icons swirl about".
