As compared to the previous green, anthropomorphic pizza-eating joke ninja given to the masses and children? Naruto is, at least, a step up in the badassery department - a more lighthearted take on Ninja Scroll and Samurai Showdown-esque ninja.

What image is that? There's not much imagery unique to that show. Exploding tags, illusionary replicas, log replacement, oversized shuriken, the magical hand-gesture techniques, elemental magics, etc. have been around for quite some time.

What, is someone going to suggest the third tier ninja be a blond guy in an orange jacket? That image might be Naruto-centric. Or it might be ripped from one of the 3 Ninjas movies.

Instead of being the Oni it is now, how about increasing its size to huge and giving it a large iron club (true oni folklore) to use the war mace powerset ?
I could live with that, provided it still had the fire breath. But personally, I always thought they should have gone with a Tengu instead of an Oni.

IIRC, in the case of interruptible powers an opponent that runs out of range or ducks behind an object before the powers interruptible time is up will cause the power to fail. I don't know whether or not such a power gets the Build Up buff if it is activated before Build Up wears off but then Build Up wears off before the interruptible portion has passed.

But in any case, I suspect a charging power would act similarly to an interruptible power.

Indeed. I always thought it should be Shuriken/Kunai.
  6. Deathly Hallows. The Deadly Hollows are where you fight Frostfire.
  7. I can see such a mechanic being useful for a few powers. Having it in a snipe could be useful - we're already essentially stuck "charging" those to full right now, after all. But if such a mechanic ever made it into the game, it'd probably be best suited for a new powerset, lest an uproar occur over power changes.

Frieza was defeated before he threw those energy disks. Goku showed him mercy and then Frieza threw a tantrum over losing and ended up essentially shooting himself in the foot.
  9. I saw a brief commercial for this the other day and forgot the name and didn't see when it was going to be on. Hopefully I remember to watch it next Tuesday.

If your Fire/Fire tank *needs* Tough/Weave, I'd call that a problem with either the build or the Tanker primary in question. Likely the latter, judging from the general grumbling I've seen surrounding it.

A very limited application, and thus Superman gets far less benefit from wearing such a vest than a squishier person. Especially given that under the force of any given threats other than Kryptonite bullets that he regularly faces, the vest would get destroyed being relatively worthless compared to his Invulnerability. The best way to replicate such an effect in game would be a Defense/Resistance bonus that doesn't stack - thus you get no benefit if your defenses are already better, but it might help you against that Kryptonite bullet for which you have little-to-no defense.

Never mind that run-of-the-mill PvPers' actions very often mirror such villainy, intentionally or not.

Their reply didn't look like hurt feelings to me so much as a recognition of non-humour where humour was, perhaps, intended. The childish tone of your response, however, seems quite peevish.

Yes, I get that it's more than that, but this is a basically a suggestion for them spending more time on the way the game looks . . . which I say we've had enough of in the past year. What this game needs "RIGHT NOA" is FRESH content.

Once that's done have at it with further customization.
"Fresh Content" will never stay "fresh" long enough to allow them time to put in further customisation. Customisation, on the other hand, has a much more lasting effect.

I sort of agree in that I've always thought Tough and Weave should offer far greater benefit to the soft targets than the hard. To me, a Tanker needing to take Tough/Weave is as ridiculous a notion as Superman wearing a kevlar vest.

I'm competitive by nature, but I also have a strong sense of fair play. If it weren't for my screwed up knee, I may well have played sports in high school. It wasn't because I wanted to bully people, or prove that I'm the best at something, it was because I wanted to push myself to see what I'm capable of.
If all you wanted was to push yourself, there are plenty of non-competitive activities in which you could engage. Being "competitive by nature" inherently means that you don't just want to push yourself, but that you also want to... push others, as it were. And typically those with a competitive nature prefer to win, which means beating others whenever possible. Now, I'm not saying you are a bully, but that competitive, driven mentality is just around the corner from being one; and the environment which encourages such a mentality has churned out or attracted enough of them that it has become a stereotype.

What you're essentially saying is that all those little league baseball teams and after school sports kids participate in are bully training, and that is so far from true it can't even SEE true.
In my experience, some of the biggest bullies are the coaches of such little league teams. Not that young children need such a role model to pick up the behaviour, but it could certainly push many of them in that direction.

Sports players are stereotypically bullies (or vice-versa). The necessary mentality is easily fostered in an environment where one's goal/drive is to be "better" than others. Even moreso when you have supporters fueling your inflated self-image.
  20. PvP is essentially a competition to see who can be the very best bully. That's not an endearing group behaviour, by any means.
  21. The powers-that-be couldn't even come to grips with wooden swords doing lethal damage. If you try to sell them on the notion of, say, fire effects doing ice damage you might over-excite the shrivelled husks of their imaginations.
