Another thing to keep in mind is that you can get Disintegration/Spread Disintegration to proc on other players' Disintegrate attacks. Things get wild when you have a whole team of Beam Riflers.
-
I liked Beam Rifle enough in Beta to pick it up now that it's available on Live. I'm using it with a Devices Blaster right now simply because I didn't want to be constantly redrawing so it was imperative for me to pair it with a relatively hands-off powerset. If I made a Defender or Corruptor with it, I'd have to pair it with Force Field or Sonic Resonance.
-
I don't mind it, and it has good contrast against the blue, at least. However, if they're looking to differentiate VIPs from Preems and Freems, the titles might be a better tactic.
-
If it had legs it looks like I might expect a live action version of Batman's Batmobile-mecha from Batman: the Brave and the Bold.
-
Probably Beam Rifle, though it'd be Street Justice first if that were out yet.
-
If they ever made a (Ted Kord) Blue Beetle movie, I could see him in a vehicle like that. But it doesn't look very Batman-like to me. The Tumbler suffered from that as well. They could use some Bat-stylistic touches, at the least.

Good job managing to work in so much of what was added. It's such a huge issue, I was expecting a blipvert followed by exploding people.

...the Twin Towers' terror and fall?
We've been made too aware of the Twin Towers' terror
Now I'd rather forget it all...
There's nothing quite like media over-saturation for feeding apathy. -
Quote:It's the same as the difference between Batman and Batman with a Green Lantern power ring. What's the difference between a pet that comes with the character, and a pet you get on a temporary basis?

The more the importance of the AT and Primary/Secondary powersets is diminished, the less impressive the victory becomes as it's no longer a victory for the character but rather a victory for extraneous powers. -
I recently re-watched the entire series on Netflix. Good stuff. Found out that after all the numerous viewings of the series I've had over the years, I still hadn't seen the very last episode (and it was the only episode I hadn't seen, the rest having been seen by me at least twice each).
The other thing I discovered watching the old series again, is that I really miss the miniskirt Starfleet uniforms. -
Quote:It should be obvious, but your store/account information is not stored in the pigg files on your computer.This.
I understand several problems during the Beta sprang from the fact that the Beta server information on what each player had or had not purchased was not the same as the information from the live servers. This being the case, it seems to me that merely copying the piggs file from Beta will give one the same problems of mismatched/missing items.
Maybe some switch thrown or step in the above-described process will straighten things out automatically, but I would like a dev to verify this as well. Until then, I'm planning to sweat the full release-day patch download. -
On the one hand, I liked how old Amy knew Rory well enough to know that he'd not leave her and talked him out of it despite also not wanting to get left behind/erased. On the other, I missed the old TARDIS interior door more than ever.
I'm beginning to get the impression that the story arc they've left hanging isn't going to get resolved until a two-part finale that will end up feeling rushed as it ties up far too many loose ends with various hand-waving shenanigans. -
Quote:My "metric" involves a bit of both. I don't generally like brown in clothing or superhero costumes. It tends to be ugly (sometimes ugly is appropriate), and looks out of place alongside the blue and white on the WWII outfit. The straps on that outfit would be great if the grey bits were blue - even if that blue were darker than the top. As it is, they're an eyesore. If your metric is how accurately they're recreating the comic book character, then yes. If your metric is not looking like a *********, then no.
The design of the modern costume is basically very similar to the WWII outfit. It has the same fold over jacket and collar. It has the same middle-torso bit with obvious ballistic insert pockets (and spaces in between said inserts for flexibility), but since there are no straps the red stripes are integrated into the design. The shoulder pieces are slightly different, and the bit between the shoulder is changed (for the worse, as I noted). The pants are basically the same pants, with the same leg pockets and everything. The cloth (on jacket and pants) appears to be a different quality, but that's because the old cloth looked to have an old style ripstop weave where the weave pattern is very apparent (the quilted-looking diamond pattern texture) - newer ripstop weaves can look as smooth as regular cloth (I love my 100% cotton ripstop BDUs - durable and practical).
The hard part of the helmet/mask piece on both costumes is practically identical. The new costume changes the soft bit to a full blue coif of sorts, which would be okay except (as I previously noted) the hard cap diminishes the chin/jawline of Evans. Hence why I said that the old outfit is superior (despite not being wholly accurate to the modern costume) in that it accentuates his chin/jawline with the chinstrap.
Style-wise, the gloves on the modern costume could easily be an evolution of the old costume's gloves made with modern, lighter weight yet more durable materials. I like them better simply because they're red rather than ugly, ugly brown. If I was wholly concerned with accuracy, I would complain that they should be plain red leather gloves with folded cuffs. If they were still using the old glove design (which I would personally love to have in black) in a decent red, I'd be just as happy with them though they'd be a bit anachronistic. -
Now that you mention it, his voice has been rather absent. I rather enjoyed his posts and the posting style therein. While I didn't know him personally, it does sadden me to hear of his passing.

I had a lot of fun messing around with an SR Tank in Beta, finding it extraordinarily nice to finally have a character at/around the Defense soft-cap (something that has heretofore been out of my reach). I really want to make one when it hits live, but I also really want to pair it with Street Justice, so I'll likely be in for a frustrating wait.
And I really didn't find it to be very fragile, despite not having the Medicine or Fighting Pool. (I've by and large sworn off grabbing the latter, anyway.) -
While I agree that the costume slot price is perhaps a bit high, we should also keep in mind that the price is for newly-added slots 6-10, and slots 2-5 are still opened in the regular fashion. And if I'm not mistaken, each slot purchased from the Market opens the extra slot for every character, which may justify the cost.

Quote:The Queer Questor - it's not inherently any more offensive than Fairy Queen (Faerie Queen would be a safer bet). One could use Strange Questor or Odd Questor but they lack the alliterative flair. Not offensive
Queen Elizabeth - Royal Title
Fairy Queen - a mythological royal title
Nurse Nancy - A name with a job description
Offensive
Raging Queen
Flaming Fairy
Nancy Boy
So out of curiosity what unoffensive names can you come up with using queer? Cuz honestly I'm drawing a blank.
I'm not sure it would get generic'd at all. I have a hunch that they'll let you get away with essentially labeling your character an idiot (as long as you stop shy of "retard" and the like I'd say), whereas they won't even let you attempt to label your character as "queer" (which, even in its slang use isn't universally considered negative).Quote:Try using moron as a name and see how long it takes to get genericed. -
In the end, did she find that there was no cure for you being sinister?

Quote:Perhaps he said that simply because there is no emote where your character pulls their pants down and presents their backside.Well, after some careful words with a certain community rep whom came online to Freedom today, he gave us a little insight or hint as to when Issue 21 was to be released.
The hint was given in another language and was carefully deduced to mean "Full Moon"
The next full moon lands on September 12th 2011.
So, make your decision, to take or not to take a day off?

I heartily disagree. The gloves being properly red and the lack of miscoloured straps alone is a vast improvement. The only thing I see as better about the WWII outfit is that it's more properly white between the shoulders and the gloves, and that the chin strap possibly accentuates the heroic facial profile enough to keep the headpiece from diminishing said profile (as it seems to do a bit in the modern outfit).

Is "queen" still viable in-game? "Fairy"? "Nancy"? Seems a bit of a double standard if so.
