Heh, Cap's gettin' all Anne Geddes on the Puppeh. Next (s)he'll be dressed as a sunflower and sitting in a ginormous flowerpot, playin' with his(her?) lil puppeh toes.
ZOMG, IT's A TRAP!
Noooo, the cute, the cute....I can't handle the cute!

Original concern: Maestro is a canon villain in the Striga Isle story arcs. I'd suggest adding a qualitative adjective between The and Maestro, or at least have an alternative prepared IN CASE someone reports it and the GMs generic you. (not saying it's gonna happen, just saying you should consider it and be ready. ounce of prevention and all that)
That said, let's get to answers:
1. Defender / Controller
2. Defender: Sonic/psychic/psychic
Controller: Mind/Sonic/Psionic
3. Male: Tuxedo-style blazer jacket in black/white, with a bright red/blue/gold/coloured cravat, tuxedo pants (with stripe to match the cravat) and baron boots. Basic High collar cloak in black exterior, and the interior to match cravat / tuxedo pant stripe.
Female: butler wedding tux if you have it w/ deluxe tuxsleeves, if not, a tank top or similar top that exposes the skin at chest-to-neck but covers the stomach. (still use the tank top w/ the butler tux) make it a dark colour to compliment the black/white... burgandy, dark gold, hunter green, navy blue, etc. metal links belt in silver or gold + a brighter version of the colour (blood red, brighter gold, summer green, blue), tights, pattern bikini to match the tank top, and white leggings to match tux, or the lighter color if no tux. high heel boots (or witch or thigh high or whatever in the darker colour) arcane high collar cloak, basic style in back, black w/ bright colour inside.
....i think i gave more than my 2 inf.... -
At work so can't post my girlie's build so far for you, but i put the Pacing of the Turtle proc in my 3 aoe/cone powers (quills, spine burst, and throw spines). It really helps, especially against bosses+, because their recharge is practically guaranteed to be floored. (20% chance for -20% recharge. stacks. works great so far.)
i'm also going with the sets that offer + defense bonuses. -
Most of my characters are tech. They could go either way natural/tech, but because they use tech gear, they fall under the tech category. Tekka uses subdermal kinetic implants to transfer and transform energy and electro-pulse gauntlets to non-lethally taze the baddies. the ENG1NEER has a cybernetic arm with gravitational and force shield mods, EnJean is a robot tanker, etc etc.
i have one mutant. she was born with her powers but they didn't manifest til adulthood.
i have one natural. a shield/sword valkyrie. her powers are derived from her race and her training. whupps, two. ninjas are products of intense personal training. can't forget her. actually, do. /ninjavanish
i have one science character. she opted for a supersoldier programme that spliced her DNA with that of a lace monitor (her hero name, now), and she can shove her bones through her flesh to defend herself (like those weird frogs!) and heals at an incredible reptilian regeneration rate.
i have a few magic characters. three who were trained in the occult from a young age (ancient egyptian priestess, peruvian bruja, and a cajun traiteur who wields the hoodoo), and one who inherited a magic brooch that gives her her powers, so without it, she's powerless.
...and dozens of other alts who don't last long, so i just kinda blitz through the origin selection since i'm just testing the water, so to speak. -
Ah, so that's why granny's able to hold onto her purse for so long against those young whippersnappers. She's really a super strength / willpower tanker.
-
Wild. Smarter brains than this poor sick girlie's will have to conjecture why that's happening, then. On the other hand, grats on the unexpected bonus

Ok, Found the guide.
Thanks, Culex!
Hellions? interesting, they're supposedly only worth 50% standard lvl xp per mob. wonder if the devs fiddled with exp since Culex wrote this.
Edited to add: Were they really hellions, or were they outcasts? i know the early teens is when radio mishes can go either way, and outcasts are worth more xp than standard (120%) according to Culex's guide. -
Some enemy groups are worth more XP than others, too. I don't remember where to find the weighted chart. Will look for it and post back if/when i find it, unless someone else does first.
Curiousity piqued: what group were you fighting? Freakshow? -
Sounds awesome, Stacker. I've done this with a few friends' SG builders before when they asked "how did you..." right after i13 went live. Talk to EnnVee about getting it mentioned in the City Scoop. Mebbe you can get some established SGs with lots of prestige to play with to host your workshop(s).
I'll even offer to let folks to play around in my heroes' SG base on Infinity if you need volunteers. I have space to add a few add'l rooms to play around in. -

so does no one have a base that's finished enough to submit for feature ?

I submitted Temple Sinistratus ^_^.
Hope to finish my heroes' tech base now that the banners and glass and invisible logos have been "fixed" (*grouses*) soon for submittal as well. -
((Ok, I should learn my lesson and just not post in threads i like to read...cos as soon as I do, they fall off the map. Moar updates please, Heroid.))

meh, home sick and no new story to read? you're such a tease, DR.
-
Alles Gute, Stryph! Herzlichen Gluckwunsch zum Geburtstag ^_^.
/puzzles sick brain suddenly remembering german now, of all times. -
Agreed. I was speaking for the iconic and easily-recognizable face of the Sith: the Jedi's evil counterparts.
(In the d20 system we're playing, all Force-sensitive Jedi/Sith use lightsabers. Not necessarily for offense, but because when they have their lightsaber out, they get a bonus to their defense, scaled for level, and can deflect / redirect blaster shots with them. So that's my frame of reference ^_^) -
That's a quirk of the game, so it doesn't look like you appeared out of thin air to anyone else on the street.
As to the MA and villains at the entrance, it IS an option. My husband's first arc "The Sands of Time" (35191) does this in his final mission. One is set as a watchdog for the other, so he spawns at the front. You have to beat him to get to her.
((Note, if you're gonna play this one: You face 2 EB/AV, but not at the same time (3, if you count that you face the first one a second time))) -
Heh, blame the cold medicine on this one: Have you tried the name "Bee Itch" >.< cos beestings hurt, and you're allergic they itch...
-
Whoops, my bad. that's what i get when reading when sick and tired (of being tired and sick...hurr.)
I don't think there's a ban on purchasing renames. What are they gonna tell you? "We don't want your money!" Unlikely. -

2) Heroes do not get a time travel mission or arc in normal play as the mission holder until approximately lvl 25 or thereabouts. We gotta be fair; just like the Devs always say.

Jim Tremblor's line in Faultline (lvl 14-19 range) also gives heroes the Ouro portal power when you complete it. -
[qr] Lord Lundar's the KOTOR fan, i just play a tabletop star wars RPG with some of the D&D buddies ( we alternate campaigns), which or DM has set in the same time period, circa 4000 BBY (Befor the Battle of Yavin--in which the first DeathStar was destroyed). So far it's a blast (hubby and I have only recently joined the SW campaign, though we've been playing D&D with the guys for years) My Twi'lek is actually the star wars version of my namesake CoH gadgetgirl defender

A Zabrak sith might be fairly easy to pull off convincingly. For reference, Darth Maul was a zabrak. they have short horns growing from their scalp and can have hair or be bald. they usually have facial tattoos as a symbol of their trials of adulthood. ((Darth Maul took his to the extreme))
Cerean would be more interesting (since it's rarer) but hard to pull off costume-wise. you'd almost have to do the conical helmet, unless you could pull off some stunning feats of WTF??! with the scales sliders
or of course, any number of human jedi/sith exist in lore, so you can always take the easiest route there ^_^.
For primary powers: a brute or stalker, i'd say, with Dual Blades or Katana(stalker only). you HAVE to get the Talsorian weapons unlocked as soon as you hit 35 to simulate the lightsaber(s)
secondary: Super Reflexes (the Force lets you anticipate your opponent's moves), Willpower (your power with the Force allows you to shrug off an enemy's advance) or Dark Armor (Come witness the power of the Dark Side.)
...i wish there was a way to incorporate my Twi'lek from our Star Wars tabletop RPG into CoX, but there's no head-tails option and the doofy pigtails just weren't doin' it for me...
oh, and here's a shot of the Talsorian dual blades on my stalker, in hot pink. and here's what they look like when she uses her dark armor's hide ability with no other toggles going.
...i'm such a nerd, i'm sorry. >.< I'll be going this way now...

You should have received an email stating that you were genericked, and how to petition for a rename. You'll have to give a couple name examples, they'll check them for non-infraction status, availability, etc, and rename you.
You might have several go-rounds with a GM (or three) before you get a new name while they check availability and whatnot. -

There is NOTHING in game that gets under my skin quite like a timid tank. (Not even rewdboi jerkholes) Why the heck would you play that archtype if you don't want to be the one to jump in first?
[removes cathartic rant] -
Personally, I prefer wading hip-deep through a sea of mobs to taking on small groups of ultra-tough stuff, because it makes me feel powerful. Especially when i'm either hanging on by a thread or just plowing through them. (Sometimes it's nice to have that edgy challenge, and other times I just wanna be an uberwench.)

I'm in agreement that a private warning to each of them first would be best. If they continue to slack off and leech (especially if they're on the low end of the level range,) ask in group if they would want a sidekick to be more effective. This is a subvertive way to say "hey, step it up" without looking like you're calling them out in front of everyone. Bonus points if they're max lvl for the TF and they don't catch the veiled snarkAfter that, I'd warn them in group. "SoAndSo, I already whispered and requested that you stop rocking the aura and start [insert skill here: control / fortitude / etc]. Please assist the team or you will be removed."
A note on timing: give them half a mission or so between the private request and the subversive snark to improve on their own, and a full mission between the snark and the open ultimatum. (the snark will point out the slacker to the other smarties in your group, who should then pay attention to how little the slacker is doing, and won't be surprised when the ultimatum is passed down.)
...
Additionally, it is ok to kick anyone who verbally abuses any other member of the team, regardless of who started the argument. As soon as the first snipe crosses group chat, I say "Please direct arguments to private tells--the rest of us really don't want to see them. Verbal abuse will not be tolerated." And if i see a second, they're gone.
I'm not picky on class balance or spec or anything, but I do try to keep my Fun Time from feeling like babysitting high schoolers. which is an insult to some high schoolers, I'm afraid.
...I almost went off on a rant about the lack of manners, what happened to please/thank you/sir/ma'am, the golden rule, etc, and I'm suddenly feeling overwhelmingly old. I'm only 27. -
Wow, nerts. I've only recently started using Mids, but have been really impressed with it. Thanks for taking the torch, Steiner; your contributions will be greatly appreciated.
