  1. Sorry if I missed a post to quote somewhere in the thread, but consider this a giant "thumbs down" to the exploration badges. These to me are the least rewarding to get, but they make sense as a way to get new players to try to learn the game better. But to double them? They were tedious to get the first time around, especially in zones with fog of war. Now we get to criss-cross all of the zones again?

I dub thee fail, additional I17 exploration badges.

I dub thee success, rest of I17.

P.S. I realize it looks silly for me to be complaining about badges while I have a badge-tracking avatar. I assure you that is due to pure laziness. Using the stock avatar is easier than finding something else I like.

If anything, having a "single function" dev is the extreme case of "locking up" a resource.

Anyway, even if that wasn't the case, you still also have several *other* devs working on MA from time to time, so there'd still be time spent on MA that could in theory be used elsewhere.

That's not really interesting though. The question is "simply" if it's worth to spend resources on developing the MA, and the devs clearly believe that this is the case.
My assumption there was the person was so focused on MA from the start that there are few other areas where the person could make an impact. Probably should have been stated. For example, asking me to troubleshoot the phone network in my office would yield little to no positive result
  3. Is it wrong that the little evil guy on my shoulder wants the badges to include a bunch of day jobs, so that he can enjoy the forum drama resulting from people who are now "forced" to miss out on all the new content because they "can't" play their main character(s)?

For i14. But man, 15 16 and now 17 all have chunks of developer time dedicated to Architect as well? Is it blasphemy for me to suggest that you stop adding bells and whistles to the Mad Libs and try something different?

Again I know some people like it and I don't disparage that, but I'd like to suggest that "more changes to Architect" goes right up there with "power rebalancing" on the list of phrases the marketing department shouldn't be leaning on.

Didn't read to the end, so sorry if someone else said it, but they hired a developer whose sole (or almost sole) responsibility was MA. So no developer time is being "wasted" that could be spent somewhere else.

That is part of the role play. Pretending you don't notice those things, or finding reasons why it does not matter.

Or you could just have all your characters be Hippies or old men so you can blame it on being stoned or alzheimers.

It may not have actually been phase, but as I was attacking some NL I did receive the "unaffected" message. In my one attempt, we never got close to the winter guardian appearing with 9 people total. The unaffected period did not seem that long, but it was definitely happening. I don't think it was anything related to damage type, since all of the attacks I was using were energy.

I am really pleased with the way the event went. I want to thank Ice Knight for helping me by banking and Eric Nelson, Medieval Power, and Everest for some of the prize donations. PERC managed to raise a lot of funds which will be used for more events on Victory! Thanks again!
What did the community folks go for?

As far as the Old Hami vs New Hami.

Definitely Old Hami. New Hami essentially doesn't exist on Victory. The new mechanic is too limiting for smaller servers it seems.
I think the bigger problem is that people don't want to put in the time to learn, given how easy Hami-Os are to get via STF. The raids that were tried on Vic had a lot of people bail after one attempt at taking down the mitos because they weren't just steamrolling their way toward merits or lewt. By the end of the attempts we had been there hours because about 20-30 people were left in the zone.
  10. I mostly just play my kin/elec blueside, but I do have other blueside toons as well. I do not really have anything redside.

I will be happy to do the following:
    • TFs of any kind, including and especially master runs
    • Get killed in the arena for badges, including gladiator badges
    • Kill mobs for defeat badges, including BP masks and Illusionists
    • Oro Badge missions
    • Stuff in PVP zones
    • Help people test their MA missions, even in test mode.

But seriously, I understand the idea behind it. I really do. Hell, I even think it's kind of neat! But quite frankly, the amount of time spent NOT playing your badge-collecting character (22 day job badges x 21 days each = 462 days) is excessive.

I motion for a 10 day maximum. That's still 220 days of not playing to get 22 badges
Only your OCD need to get them as fast as possible stops you from playing your main badge toon. Really, just settle down, play the toon you want to play, and the badges will come. Really, they will. I'm not lying.
  12. I want to second someone's earlier request for the Tsoo Tattoo Parlor map.

MAPS/MISSIONS/UNIQUE/ARTIFIED/TSOO_TATTOO_PARLOR.TXT is the demo map name.

The mission is: Recover some the Tsoo's tattooing materials
It is given by level 15-19 Natural origin contacts.
  13. This sounds like a lot of fun. Some of those times get early for someone on the West Coast, but I'll have to see what I can do about that waking up thing

Not really, just that Defenders have been pretty much untouched or "status quo" as an AT for a long time. They could probably use a good once-over.

I would just have to believe that the "Meh" inherent would be one of the first things to go.

I'll probably roll a Traps/DP defender and depending on the Demon Summoning set powers, I may roll a DS/Dark MM
Looking at your sig, I may get to add a kernal of hope to your search for a useful defender inherent. At the powers panel Castle was asked which AT he would next like to take a detailed look at. Defenders was the one he mentioned. I would think part of any Defender would be a look at the inherent power. No dates or anything announced of course, but it was at least something for those who like defenders.

If there are restrictions on actual content when you're V/R, then it becomes pointless. If there are no restrictions (aside from the market), then I see no reason (again, except RP reasons) why one wouldn't want to stay V/R forever.
I *think* I remember something about when you are in the middle ground you can't use a lot of the contacts yourself, but you can join teams no problem. But I have not yet read Posi's clarification thread, so the good info could be right there.

Iirc, the intermediate roles cannot trade with the opposing faction, which would eliminate the work/time requirement mentioned above. (Posi mentioned trading insps, but I'm not sure if that only applies to intermediates, or if pure Heroes and Villains can trade with one another during coops.)
Heh, at least someone at the Vic tables was paying attention

There was a statement too about getting additional rewards, or at least different ones, by keeping your "moral compass" the same as you play through the new content. I have no idea what those may be, but it seems as though there will be some kind of carrot to keep people from jumping sides.

Thats not even counting Regen Aura's and such.

If anyone remembers Emping before i13, you certainly know how easy it is to emp with Heal Decay off. Not to mention most Emps had Phase.
Are you restricting this to kickball type games where someone is maybe calling targets and there isn't a coordinated spike? Then I can see heal aura making it tough. But no way does that aura heal alone keep someone alive if there is more than one dedicated attacker. With no suppression it is easier to evade, but still, any kind of coordination should force you into phase, which is about all one can hope for with that power available. Or I guess the attackers phase when you get low on health.

Next time maybe try host an event earlier 9est on a sunday isent great also no heal decay was kinda fail and no clue why someone thought that up lol

other then that it was fun lol

Why would you want Heal Decay to be turned on? Why does Heal Decay Off = fail?
  20. This sounds like a lot of fun.

There is a new arena option for insps that may take enforce the insp rules listed if used. Not sure if that should just be one of the match requirements.
  21. I have to agree with those asking to not go forward with this change. I would rather have a bunch of people running -1 TFs than force everyone else to play on +0. Is it that big of a deal if people get merits faster? Or get Master badges? -1 TFs are kinda cheap, but I don't think they're cheap enough to remove the ability of the rest of the playerbase to challenge themselves without the "forced gimp" Oro options.
  22. Same here. We had the requirements met to get the badge, and didn't get that or the rewards. Not that it should matter, but this was on Victory, blue side.

    Where are you?

Bay Area, West Coast. But I never plan anything, so it should never be an issue
  24. Depending on the time I suppose I can be a body. I have no idea what I would actually do, but MP can tell me that. Or tell me to get lost. Either one

Also available as a choice in the Options menu for those too scared of slash commands. Anyone complaining that the arena is "too far away" when this issue goes live should be immediately ridiculed. And attacked. And then get ridiculed while being attacked. And then possibly kicked in the groin. No, wait, that won't work, since they have proven they have no stones because they refuse arena and insist on fiteklub rules.
