ye that build looks good
i would only make one minor change and that would be to swap the 2 res IO's in fire shield for a res/end from titanium coating and aegis, if u +5 these u only lose less than 2% res but u get some nice end reduction that will help a bit.
other than that i think u will be very happy with it!

From looking at your build you were over the 6.25% Rech cap as u had 7 sets with it in so i swapped it around a bit, couldnt decide what to do with fire breath though so i left that for you, if it was me i would take stealth instead for another lotg and put the extra 2 slots in your fire shield so it does a bit more. Also you need the kismit in a power that is on for it to work, so i took combat jumping and put it in there so it will work all of the time when CJ is toggled on, this also means that you will have soft capped range def.
The best power for me in the dark set is heart of darkness. you should have it for most mobs and the stun is awesome, on my dark/dark i lead with fearsome and then jump in with the stun. means nothing hits you.
Also u could take rebirth instead of barrier so you have a heal.

What does the hp % increase to when catalysed? is it 3%?

Here a build i based on my Ice/Km tank, Works very nicely. I know u said u wanted more aoe but FS should be up every 7 seconds so u should be good. Also i like to fill in the fire/cold def a little on my ice tanks so u will be a small purp off soft cap for that too, or after a full EA u will almost be at soft cap.
Hope it gives you a few ideas anyway

Here is a soft capped positional build, I have a Dark/KM with this build, just changed it to SS. Only problem is it includes hover to achieve the def. Its fine with KM, but will b a problem for FS.
Hope it gives you a few ideas anyway!

Since the release of i18, I have a slight obsession with KM. I currently have 6 KM toons at 50. 2 Tanks, 3 Scrappers and a br00t. I just enjoy the way it plays and have intentions to make a few more, with different secondary's. Have tried it with Dark, Ice, Shield, Regen and Fire x2. Still WP, Invul and mebe Elec on my list.
I also enjoy fire blast on ruppy's, i have fire/dark, fire/traps, fire/kin, fire/cold all at 50 -

Click on the powers tab and next to where it says combat attributes you will see the Incarnate tab, within there you can craft and convert. Hope this helps =)

I have tried many tanks at level 50 (Shield, Ice, WP, Elec).
When they released i18 I started playing a Dark/KM tank and it had quickly become my favourite tank to play.I
I have since slotted it so that it is softcapped to Melee/Ranged/AOE and its survivability is amazing. I went for the Cardiac Radial Boost for the end management and it works great.
I took OG too as a lvl49 power and use it when needed. Is nice for some soft control.
I have tanked the 2 new TF's on multiple occasions without any trouble, while having lots of fun with KM at the same time. -
I have also just made myself a dark/rad ruppy and am currently playing it through praetoria which has been good fun so far.
My intended build at level 50 will have soft capped SL def and hasten/AM will be 1 or 2 seconds off perma.
I am also going to take the pet from the epic pool and with the recharge its only 6 seconds off being perma too.

Wish it was that regular tbh, its kinda just spur of the moment, and not as frequent as we would like.
Which is why i have moved nearly all of my pvp toons over to union, but its a bit dead there to now. Would love a server merge just for some actual regular pvp. Cba to start all over again on the US servers. -
Most of the blasters have flash freeze as a mule for the sleep purple set as it is very cheap and is an easy 10% rech.
It is probably not even in their tray as its useless in pvp (and pve) really.
I have a psy/nrg on Defiant and its not as expensive a build as most and still has HP cap and does alright. I know Defiant isnt regarded highly for its pvp, but there are a few of us they take it seriously and build toons for it.
Here is the build that i currently use, as you said you cant afford purples you can change the 3 apoc's in the build for something else without actually making too much different. Other than that it is a relatively inexpensive build. Also it does need a respec, as I havent changed it since inherent stamina.

Actually Sapping in pvp is pretty much the only way you will win a pvp fight with an elec blaster.
Many people have made Elec/mental as an alternative for an elec/therm ruppy as they are able to sapp effectively.
SC still works great in pvp and your other attacks + the pet keep the opponents recovery much lower and you can effectively drain someones end and then you are free to kill thm. -
Just a quick note on deadboy's build, looks good and i see what your going for.
The build needs some KB protection, which is easy to put in by changing up one of the BOTZ in fly and i would also prefer to slot shocking grasp for damage as it is a high damage hold, this will be needed as elec is one of the least damaging sets.
Also i feel tht short circuit is one of the key powers within the set in terms of solo'ing and survivability as SC + PS means an entire mob has no end left, but everyone has a different playstyle. -
People have been providing good info but none have provided an alternate build, So here you go.
As you stated you didnt like Blapping I went for a range def build, with some nice SL res too.
The build has soft capped range def and 43% res to SL and 27% res to energy. So on the odd occasion u get hit it should soften the blow somewhat.
Mids got updated tonight with stamina inherent so make sure yours is updated before viewing the build. Hope this helps you out and you can start enjoying the toon again!

Hey there, You are on the right tracks but personally i think it would be better to go for SL def, gives you are broader range. Just Knocked up a build for you with soft capped SL def and 62.5 % rech, Hopefully will be helpful. With i19 you can add a new pool for more LOTG procs if you wanted.
