  1. I actually like the ideas.
If they could be done, could lead to much better story and stuff for MA missions.

Second, STOP breaking the damn thing just to stop farmers. If the Devs care THAT damn much, they should police the thing themselves! /rant

Third, Sorudo, stop fishing for compliments/sympathy/trolling comments. Your opinion does not equal truth. It equals your opinion.

My Skull ganger has made the Tarot cards her trademark, and it would be ace to be able to have her use 'em a bit more.

No one just starting out wants to run for 3-5 minutes just to get to a mission and as has already been mentioned,

    [/ QUOTE ]

Treat the journey as a mission. Take your time, look at the scenery, and fight the mobs you encounter along the way. It will be more fun, and you will gain a couple of levels in the process.

    [/ QUOTE ]
but a game needs to grow the player, the player doesn't need to grow in order to play the game.
to make that simple, the game needs to level you while you are playing, but the current mercy(and some atlas and galaxy mission) sends you across the whole map with enemy's 3x stronger then you around there.
as it is, there are design flaws, and they need to be fixed.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you fight mobs you encounter on route, the mobs near the mission won't be 3x your level, because you will have leveled up a couple of times on route. the game is designed arount the idea that you will street hunt (and hence, grow) between missions. Mercy is a great place for street hunting.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And you also end up with a grey conning mission that is nothing short of boring.
Hence cutting out the middle man and simply street sweeping from the get go
  4. Totally rewardless MA = Test mode. Which is nasty. You don't even get insp drops, which makes for a whole array of sucky situations.

Leave MA alone until they fix all the bugs and stuff. THEN argue about badges and things that, lets be honest, bar accolades are not that important or gamebreaking.

    Tail

My defender/psi blaster's backstory finally got to the part where her physical mutation accelerated. Kitsune she might be in face, now, but no tail. And certainly nothing that is close to Kitsune worthy.
It shouldnt be anything to do with wether or not furries are liked/disliked/indifferent to them, its stifling creativity and one of CoX's strongest areas.
And Dragon tails too, that would be good.
  6. Sounds cool, actually. Tbh, Spades, PvP in the aactual zones is borked. Having it in various maps sounds much better. And the suggested mission types sound quite nice. So you could have proper PvP bank heists, etc.

  7. "Cool it pal. When people's lives are on the line, you don't mess about."
Wolf had descnded to street level, and had stepped into sight behind Tinderspark. The customised Redding rifle was held idly, but with an ease that spoke of years of specialism. The blue-white blend power armour Wolf wore had been seen across the City before, although most frequently in fights with the Rikti. The air temperature dropped a degree or two, the source of it seeming to be the bulkier gauntler Wolf had on his right arm, the focus of the suits built in thermo-negative powers.
"Fifth floor?" he asked, looking askance at Hicks. "And I can get airborne myself, so if firebrand here is coming with us then you'd better grab a hold of him."
  8. "Roger that."
Wolf shuffled across the rooftop, ducking from cover to cover. Fox still hadn't finished work on the full spectrum cam-field yet, but he was running the base version, meaning that, at this range, anyone looking up would see little more than a shimmer. At anything other than extreme range it wasn't much use, but that was were Wolf operated best.

"We've got two goons in the main lobby, Lieutenant," he muttured after a while. He was back in the original spot, having completed a full circumference, in no small part thanks to the armours built in jets. "Armed, though I can't quite tell with what. Also, be advised, the Safe looks like the area where they are keeping the civilians. Counting on nineteen, twenty, possibly more. Over."

He peered down, keeping an eye on the new arrivals.
"Pyro's...good thing Fox isn't here to try and duke it out with them," me muttured, flexing his own right gauntler for a second, just long enough for a coating of frost to spread over it's surface.
  9. A figure edged along the rooftops opposite the bank. A high optic sensor array swung over the windows.
    "Great..."
X21 Ice Wolf sat back, resting the long rifle on an a ledge and sighting along it. His featureless, flat helmet fixed on the building, he reached up and tapped his comm, switching it over to Police band.
"This is Wolf Hound. Positioned on building behind and above you, over. Any points you want scoping?"

Or simply ignore the missions, and start carving your name into Mercy by beating up on the locals?
Much more fun, and much faster levelling, I find.

Not possible unfortunately to make those look good. We understand that the devs tried to do it but cant make it work properly.

Ps. there is a special costume request threat in the developers part of the forum. I give you a hint. it is the one with the most posts.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Most of them irate comments about the pointlessness of that thread?

Just let females have a lot of the details males get. That skull mask for one, Official belt for another. Face and hair options would be nice, seeing as the range is rather...pants looking atm.

The long runs in Mercy are nothing compared to The Hollows, back in the day.

Kids these days, blah blah blah *mutters until out of sight*

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hey, I remember the Hollows back in the day, when it was proper, with just Trolls, Outcasts and CoT. And Igneous.
And I STILL go there at lvl 5, without a temp travel unless I was on a decent team that did the bank mish anyway.

And Mercy Islands hospital run STILL bugs me. The reason? Mercy Island is a starter zone. The Hollows aint.
  13. Techbot Alpha

    No more toys!

    I would rather have both.
Well, whats the point of more staff/devs if we cannot have awesomesauce?
  14. [ QUOTE ]

I'm going to go with the OP on this one.

For me, Mercy is designed all wrong. The enclosed part should have been slightly larger and in the center of the island, with extended parts going to the ferry. This where villains should start out from.

It should have had some form of open area for villains to congregate, with some missions being set outside the walls - as they are now.

I don't think there is any way that it will get changed, but I've always been curious about the odd design of Mercy.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    ...
    That actually sounds really neat.
Make Mercy more circular, with a hill with the fort/walls in the middle. A bit like Grandeville has the city in the middle and the Gutter on the outside.

A central hospital would be a godsend beyond belief. As would more contacts, tbh.
  15. -Irate-

Don't make me start throwing flames and insults...at the Devs, naturally.
Of course, if they ever looked at the forums...

    I'd still say it anyway

Back in the day, got killed by an AV twice in a mission. These days, you can actually work off the debt by killing him and mission completion.

    [/ QUOTE ]

To me, that reads as you saying I said make AVs harder.

If you got killed twice by an AV then, what's to change that now? As we all know, they're not the easiest thing to solo.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This was teaming. Im pointing out that on maps which are harder anyway, such as AVs and Specific missions, you are GOING to fail unless you incredibly lucky/nerdy about knowing exactly how to kill off AVs.

Debt should be left in the game, thats a given. But it shouldnt be crippling. And for those who didn't always have the time to spend all day ingame, debt did used to be somewhat crippling.
  17. Yeah, I didn't get a whiff of them until I saw someone juggling...
    Great firey balls!
    *ahem*
But yeah, lack of mentioning. Very neat though =]

It's like the blooming farming issue.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was in the middle of testing this before the servers went down. I don't have any information on what you can do with the MA farming wise, but if what I am planning can actually happen... well, leveling won't be a chore.

    [ QUOTE ]
Except for the Exp and Debt one.

    [/ QUOTE ]

OK. I slightly agree with you. Keep the EXP as it is since I recently found the "Disable EXP" feature. But boost debt. Seriously. It's nothing. I died and I was like "Meh". People used to fear dying. BBD! Bring back debt! Bring back debt!

    [/ QUOTE ]

So what about missions that are more challenging, or AT's that die a bit more often, like my AR/ice blaster? While some ATs will STILL be alright, and can breeze through with the odd bit of debt to work off, they will get mauled into being unplayed by getting swamped in debt.

Back in the day, got killed by an AV twice in a mission. These days, you can actually work off the debt by killing him and mission completion. It still takes a chunk of actual exp, but thats fine and dandy. Whereas you used to still have a huge wad of debt still to chew through, even after completion.

Dying should be something to avoid, yes, and still is really, for various reasons, such as long Hospital trips, time lost on timed missions, or suchnot. But it SHOULDNT be as crippling as it used to be. Especially for more casual players.

I believe Positron alluded to the fact that the graphical updates will be optional as are the current graphical frosting under the menu>options>gfx tab.

Well one badge should be implemented.

Debt badge. If you can get debt (and xp + inf) during a holographic experience, then it should count toward getting the debt badge.

    [/ QUOTE ]

^ True. Although you can bet people would be accused of 'farming' it too...

/Unsigned. MA should focus on cool missions and stories, not mass farmage.

I'm gutted to see that Cimerora did not get an Architect Entertainment building. Why not?

    Seriously, sarcasm, it must be?
  23. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
Yeah, It was Positron I believe, alluding to the fact that the current engine is capable of more, but they had been holding back on showing just what it was capable of with respect to subscriber's Min/Max PC specs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is exactly the problem as i see it we come on here and whinge about the Devs aren't doing this and the Devs aren't doing that, why haven't they updated they graphics they need to update the graphics or CO will be much better and every one will go play that.

Yet the devs are on record as saying the core game engine is more powerful than what we see and that it is capable of doing far more.

So why don't they up the graphics simple there thinking of us the current player base how many would be strait on here moaning that the game wont run any more or that its to laggy or there PC spec doesn't meet the requirements of the game.

Just look back to when CoV launched and there was the texture update on CoH it made the game look great (hell it still looks good when you have the graphics sliders maxed) now take that to the next step a full on graphics over hall can you imagine the complaints cause i can.

So yes personally i would love to see the graphics ramped up but i have a relatively good PC what about those that don't have good PC is the possibility of getting a more subscribers worth the risk of loosing loyal current subscribers?

    [/ QUOTE ]

At present, I for one am stuck on minimum the whole time. A laptop is all I have, given the old PC we have is actually, godforbid, WORSE.
Graphical updates are all fine and dandy, but some of us, at the moment in time, wont be able to keep up. Which sucks when you really like a game.

-furthers plans to get a new PC at Uni-

I hope they do finish storylines such as the Midnight Club and Cimerora. Just because MA is here doesn't mean the Devs can leave it up to us. Because remember people, MA is just a training simulator.

So, yeah. I15. I'd like to see:
[*]The long awaited return of the 5th Column.[*]The long awaited "Coming Storm".[*]The long awaited character who sends you letters in Ouroboros.[*]The long awaited additonal content to Cimerora and the Midnight Club.[*]The long awaited boost to Giant Monster EXP so people start fighting them again.[*]The long awaited boost to debt and reduction in the amount of EXP you earn because noobs get to Level 50 in a flash these days.

Oops... got a bit personal there.

Yeah, there's other stuff I want, but I just can't remember what it is. Damn age...

    EDIT: Just remembered one.
[*]Give me a C, give me an o, give me a P. Yes, you guessed. The Cathedral of... we haven't forgot about this and want some information on whether you are actually doing anything about the Cathedral of Pain.

    EDIT 2: Remebered another one.
[*]Expansion on the Ouroboros Story Line. Is Mender Silos really a bad guy? Is he really Nemesis? Is he even human? Why does this mystery person send you letters claiming they're evil?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Agree with all of those.
Except for the Exp and Debt one.
I like being able to actually get somewhere with my characters these days, rather than having one to work on and all the others languishing at low levels. Now I can actually make the time I have count, rather than feeling its all for very little.

It's like the blooming farming issue. Talk about cutting the nose off to spite the face, when changes for 'Minor' groups effect everyone, its hardly ever a good thing.
