Nope, it is spelled properly in game. They were going for "metropolis(word for big city) + Neuron" and to make that obvious they needed to keep the "trop" part to make that sound.
Also, "Neuropolis" sounds a bit "Neurotic". Neuron wouldn't want that.
And FYI, First Ward doesn't properly follow the other Praetorian arcs, especially if you went Loyalist undercover in the Warden arcs.
You turned Noble Savage into an undercover agent for the Loyalists in those arcs while seriously angering Katie by betraying her when she was about to free the seers.
That path was completely ignored. -
Quote:Actually, they're completely tossed aside. So far, I'm absolutely lost. While the writing is stylistically similar to what happened in Praetoria, I'm finding myself feeling like there's a 5 year in-game gap between what happened at the end of the GR storyline and what starts in FW. Major plot points concerning Calvin Scott and the Resistance (as well at the events involving the change of Noble Savage and a lot of the Ghouls) are handed to you as if they're a side dish and not important at all.
Katie (last name escapes me, former seer/teleporter) and Noble Savage completely forget they even knew you.
It is as if the first zones in Praetoria never happened(probably to save time after making the "you came from primal earth" version) when you do go there.
They also remove practically all choice that you would expect after going through the under level 20 Praetorian content.
It's really not a cohesive story. -
Quote:The undercover Warden arcs don't paint him in the best light(though certainly not bad) given the fact that he wants you to save copies of ghoul control implant for seers data. His biggest problem will be trying to explain why he waited so long before joining the Resistance - the last minute side switchers who turned to the good side only when the dictatorship was collapsing mightn't have as much popularity with the people as the ones who risked their lives to take on the dictatorship at the height of its power.
Plus, as one of the oldest members of the loyalist dictatorship, he'll be guility of a lot of crimes against humanity - he even admits that the "safety" of Praetoria sometimes requires "extreme measures" - so he's fully aware of what the government he served had been up to - and that mightn't go down well with the people he was helping to oppress until very recently.
He does agree that the war shouldn't have happened though, even helping to make it happen in Warden undercover arcs.
He would be a believable choice, having run the arcs. -
Quote:"redoing the entire zone"!!!???This has been answered in relation of Penelope Yin and Faultline - it requires redoing the entire Zone from what I understand.
Definitely not, at least not if common sense applies.
They make NPCs disappear all the time, especially if you count the ones we fight. They add new NPCs all the time.
All they need to do is code War Witch in Croatoa to check for a player's specific souvenir(for her initial load in) and have it either "not load" her or "make her vanish" and then have the same code make an alternate solid War Witch pop in right next to her.
OR, maybe War Witch has a power that makes her semi-transparent. They could just "toggle it off" so that she is like the one in Pocket D.
It seems super simple to me. -

Try opening your graphics options tab in an area with somewhat high graphics load sometime. The FPS will be cut almost in half.
Also, don't flick any slider, tested this with window opacity, back and forth a few times. It makes your netgraph go crazy, super laggy.
Those got added to the bug list. -
Quote:Is Croatoa same or higher level than Night Ward? That's part of the level = time bit, I believe. THAT version of her hasn't changed.
I'm pretty sure it is close.
Anyway, they have the technology to change contacts based on what you have completed. They did so in Nova Praetoria with Cleopatra and in Atlas with Mathew Habashy's wife.
Why haven't they at least done that with War Witch? /shrug -
Quote:Are people not expected to have off days where they have been greatly angered?Good luck with that. Both statements.
Having read the general tack of your posts today, I won't be reading further. Take care.
Are you married?
Have you ever looked at another person of the opposite gender in an admiring way?
Your spouse should hold that against you despite all your past and future actions.
My post you quoted was before I was angered today. My angry posts also say nothing against how clever I am, but they do say that I am a normal human susceptible to harassment from others(who will all be modsmacked with me if they want to uphold the forums rules) like any other human.
I'm not Ghandi, so expecting me to be like him is a tall order.
are you Ghandi and Einstein and Stephen Hawking combined? no? then maybe you should hold your tongue.
I'm not religious, but I like this adage because of what it means : "let he who is without sin cast the first stone"
Nobody should be "casting stones"(that means you too) because nobody is "without sin"(misinterpret this one phrase which means "without fault" in this case, go ahead). -

FACT!
Opinion:
Oh wait, you won't bother reading the words on that page. I don't know why I kept copying them FROM IN GAME to this forum to try to prove to you the FACT of the intended behavior of that power.
You call it opinion, but then you are calling the game's words "opinion" that I didn't even write.
So City of Heroes is a race car game now? It doesn't look like a race car game when I play it?
I could provide pictures and tell you "just play it" to prove it but you would say "that's you opinion as I have not seen the facts you have posted copied directly from the game".
Can you tell fact from opinion now? -

Quote:Well, I know I assumed(you know), but I was guessing your son was around 13.Well it's been some time but the last time I changed a diaper he had all the equipment so I'm assuming he's still a dude but I could be wrong. His voice is deep and he's got a lot of facial hair. Am I all right with just guessing from that, that he's still a dude?
"He" is 17. "I" am 49, for a few more months. They'd have to show some PANCAKES or a BELGIAN WAFFLE for me to watch Lost Girl and probably not even then. I've seen high school plays better acted. The writing is just terrible too.
That would be a bit young for watching that in most households, less so now than it was 5 or 10 or more years ago when I was that age. -
Quote:All true, but I won't be happier.Positron and War Witch, yeah. I'm not saying it's a brand new crowd, but the game is definitely not moving forward with the same vision that it had when, say, I first joined the game in Issue 4/5. If it were, I can't imagine I would have stayed with it for so long. The game was honestly a little dull before Issue 6/7/8 came along (never mind City of Villains), so in that respect it has clearly improved substantially. The fact is that we've gotten a lot of stuff that we've asked for over the years (power customization, player-created content such as it is, multitudes of power sets, the ability to redo previously-played content, tons of costume sets....).
You really can't blame them too much for new stuff breaking old stuff. I know it sounds like a pass but it's really true. The legacy game code is a tangled spaghetti mess of undocumented code produced mostly by people who moved on years ago, it's gonna be near impossible to introduce new code into that without creating all sorts of weird errors (which is going to happen under the best conditions anyway).
There are certainly criticisms that can be made though regarding the dev team's propensity for pushing patches/Issues to Live despite the fact that there are known game-breaking bugs present (the philosophy of it being better to push out a product that doesn't work right for some people and fix it later, versus delaying it for everybody). But it's still not black and white, and you'll be a lot happier once you realize that.
I'll be complacent.
There is only one state that is good enough: "hopeful".
this game hasn't had me hopeful since Freedom was announced(no sub WOOHOO!) because everything after the F2P announcements was "that's cool, but what about fixing this or making everything perform as it did just a few months ago?" or "more stuff? doesn't look that interesting because it's more smashing and lethal damage types"(melee set disinterest because of lack of imagination on the devs' part).
I'm definitely not hopeful when looking back on their history.
It will take a new game to make me hopeful probably. That's not good for CoH.
Yes, I haven't taken a break yet. I will soon. I'm just looking for "non-inflammatory" civil posts to comment on. -
Quote:I'm not naming names, but the 2 biggest head honchos of Paragon Studios(or at least just of CoH) were there since practically the beginning at Cryptic. The following devs are no longer with the game (too lazy to get real names for the ones I don't know):
Statesman/Jack Emmert
Back Alley Brawler
Castle
Lord Recluse (both of them)
Sexy Jay
Just to name a few of the big names. Probably also a bunch of these folks went with Cryptic to "the competition".
You seem to be very unhappy with the game lately. Perhaps it's time for you to take a break instead of sniping at other forumites and actively driving new players away from the game.
and even since they moved form Cryptic, the game has not gotten clearly better.
Sure, we have "more", but that "more" just breaks the old stuff and never performs quite right itself.
And yeah, I'm cooling down. I'm not sniping so much and being more apologetic.
I still am very unhappy at being cut off even from my global friends in game though right now. -
Quote:I wholeheartedly agree. In all honesty, where I13 PvP is concerned, this is plain truth. They put together a broken system, they were told it was broken by the community they were supposedly serving with the change, and they mulishly stuck to and saw that dreck through to completion.
I've seen them purposely put together complicated and/or gimmicky solutions to simple problems for the purpose of "different" and I was then unsurprised that they failed to solve the problem or were buggy as an ant hill.
Not really. The devs are still mostly the same small team, especially those making the decisions. They are the same ones that came all the way over from Cryptic.
I have no hope for the future of this game.
I used to have "a fool's hope", but Customer Support has taught me "all hope is lost".
CROATOA (left behind on my keyboard as I vanish without a trace someday) -
Quote:Customer Support ****** me off.i've recently seen you in several threads insisting the Devs are incompetent fools who somehow accidentally kept the game going for over eight years
Also honestly, I am truly amazed that this game has not died yet. I was happy about that fact, though not delusional about the problems this game obviously has and their lack of solutions to them or even apparent attempts at most problems, but now I would like to see this game die just to show them that they can't get away with ignoring issues until they start causing severe problems.
Also, I would get a bit of satisfaction form being proven right beyond a shadow of a doubt and seeing them have no way of bringing in more money until they frantically put out another game, because CoH is Paragon's only product even announced as close to being released.(The latter is because Customer Support ****** me off. I never wanted that before today.) -
Quote:Hypocritical post alert! When players come looking for help they are looking for other players who know facts and not players who include their "uninformed opinions" in their responses.
Seriously, you can't even follow your own advice.
Leave me the hell alone or you will be reported for the next jab you make at me.
Hypocrite. -
Honestly?
I don't pvp because the developers are inept at making anything work properly. They guaranteed pvp would be broken forever.
It's as simple as that. -
Quote:You didn't read the power info in game, and you never will.I can agree with that part. It may be intentional, or it may not. We don't know. YOU don't know. So stop with the grand pronouncements of how it "should" be working.
You're a perfect example of why I hate this community. You just want to push my buttons.
You win Ironblade.
RESURRECTS ARE MEANT TO KILL US!!
I agree with you.
I will now argue the opposite of logic just to anger people because the company that runs this game and the "community" that "infests" it is doing just that and getting away with bending and breaking the rules of conduct.
I don't care anymore.
Hell really is other people. They're all liars and backstabbers and psychopaths. -
And get them stolen before cpyrighted? No.
I wouldn't help this game if my life depended on it either. They don't care about us customers, least of all the non-VIP who still spend money, and they don't listen to the obvious problems this game has.
I just got treated very poorly by customer support so no more Mr. Helpful. I'm telling it like I now feel, abused and unwanted.
Make whatever jokes you want. They just prove how horrible this community sure as hell seems right now. A community the company representatives love being that horrible so long as they get their almighty dollar. -
Quote:Well, I don't know about SyFy being a pay for thing when basic satellite for both DirecTV and Dish Network have it in their basic programs. We certainly did on Dish and do now on DirecTV.SyFy isn't terribly uptight actually. As a pay-for cable television channel, it doesn't have to play by the same rules as public teevee. (See also: Game of Thrones on HBO - it's even earlier into Prime Time and is far raunchier and often gorier).
They still tend to follow ratings rules as much as other networks.
I can't even remember the last time I heard swearing on SyFy, which is either the shows avoiding it that I watch or maybe the network doesn't let it through.
Edit:
I mean what is there now besides Cable and Satellite? There is only the basic antenna channels, which aren't many, last I checked. -
I don't know.
several people are having problems with downloading the game while playing.
It is best to download the entire game before playing. -
You can always easily get HOs the same way we have always gotten them....through Hamidon Raids and "Synthetic" versions from the Lord Recluse SF and Statesman(now Miss Liberty) TF.
You don't need the AH. -

Quote:It works for other games, but I know the risks and have already planned simple ways around the problems.Client side calculations would be bad.
If my computer has a faster set clockspeed, that could affect the "ticks" - regen faster, recharge, faster, etc. Also, enables blatant client side hacks like ones to manipulate to-hit chances or damage or just plain "chances to".
I'm a bit more clever than I may appear. -
Was this the new Longbow Chaser/Arachnos Flier/Praetorian Chaser power?
Either way, it always goes to your active mission, last I checked. You just have to set the proper mission as the one in your nav bar.
