Quote:I debated counting buying a-merits with merits but decided to simply go with the earned ones from tip missions since I cannot buy reward merits and have to run missions to get them (except for the exploration ones).I think I'd value them a bit more highly than that. By direct purchase, 20 A-merits = 1000 merits + 400 million inf. And an A-merit recipe purchase is up to a 5 fold discount over regular merits (1-2 A-merits v. up to 250 regular merits). So, hmm...
Some big number of merits :-)
I figure as a factor of time I can actually earn my a-merit slightly faster than 50 reward merits (solo). -
Quote:Both my lvl 50 PB and WS did 176 + 88 bonus against a lvl 50 Possessed Scientist minion with nem staff. Thanks Swellguy. I won't be back on until after 7 tonight. Not an auspicious start to Halloween ToTing.
Perhaps you saw a difference when a damage resistance buff or a debuff was in effect against your targets. -
Quote:But then if people don't play their 50s there will be no new supply of purples generated so prices will remain high.Maybe. People who didn't play their 50s much made that decision for a variety of reasons. Given that there's not *that* much new content at 50, and given that the alpha slot might be the kind of "grind" that kept them from being interested in playing their 50s in the same content over and over prior to I19, the idea that people who weren't motivated to purple their 50s will suddenly want to do so isn't something I'm sure I agree with.
But I also stink at long term predictions on the market, so I guess we'll see what happens. =)
Basically I see no condition where the prices go down for purples. -

Quote:Actually I wanted to play it all year!lol now theres an exact figure from someone wanting to play it NOW
I am sad it is only for 11 days this year. Trick or treating for Halloween and present hunting for "winter holiday" (it's CHRISTMAS!) are my favorite things to do in the game. -
Quote:If I remember and take time from Trick or Treating I can verify this at lunch.I was leveling up a WS and PB, and for my other ATs, the staff usually takes half to 2/3 of their life. For my khelds, it took 1/3 to barely half. I know my blasters can use the staff to two shot most minions. That just was not working for my khelds.
Antecdotal evidence is not enough to sway my case, of course, so if I really want to know, I will have to stop playing long enough to actually test it out.
Thanks for the stats though Sam. -

Quote:Put this in the suggestions forum. I heartily approve.I've always thought linking a gladiator to an anniversary badge (or any combination of anniversary badges) was a bad idea, even if it was supposed to be a "sneak peek" at the time. We've had a number of badges over the years which have had their requirements changed to reflect the changing nature of the game. The most notable one lately was the Power Liberator / Master Thief badge.
With that said I believe the fairest way to deal with the 5th column Gladiator is to reassign it as some kind of "defeat" badge as Matt_King suggested. With the 5th Column now re-established as a permanent group in the game there's no longer any reason to treat its associated gladiator as exclusively as it is now. -
Quote:Every single Vet reward has been met with whines by people who want them now and most have been hit with mehs by some longtimers, so Lothic's point is true. Most of you "Old timers" have really only played for half the time you've subscribed for, so please don't toss that out there... I've come across way too many people who try to throw around the age of their account but left after ED hit and came back only recently but kept their account active.
Vet's should get special rewards but nothing that's better as a boost pack or TF reward, things like the targeting pet are great, nice little bonus that isn't a costume piece or so on. I think this XP thing is sort of useful but for a 78th month account? What a rip off, the team assemble power is one of the most widely used powers I've seen, something that helps the player but isn't useless. Maybe they could add something closer to the existing vet powers instead of something boring and pretty much useless to a level 50. -
Quote:I AM THE CASUALLY PURPLED WARSHADE! FEAR ME!And given that it was originally stated that purples wouldn't be buyable with merits because purples should cost more than the merit cap, we're getting them stupendously cheaply with A-merits.
Although of course I'm confidently expecting to purple my warshade purely with the drops I'll be getting in the next few weeks. Anecdotes don't lie.
Yeah, I am surprised they haven't added Purples to the Reward Merit Vendor now.
With a purple costing 20 A-merits that would be 1000 Reward Merits to my math thinking (1 a-merit gets 5 random recipe rolls, 100 r-merits get 5 random recipe rolls) -
Quote:I just want it once a year. and only I matter. In a perfect world it would be great, but how often does that happen in a corporation. The website guys probably don't even start work until 9 am pacific time.
Sheesh, I just realized how many people I just came across like. -
For a moment there I misread it and thought we would get the exp from the patrol exp without doing anything.
So five charges eh? This one may be tricky to decide when to use. -

Quote:I think the point is it isn't every Tuesday it's just been most if not all Tuesdays since the release of Going Rogue. Which I predicted beforehand because of the patch history for City of Villains.Yes Forbin - we know that - from time to time surely doesn't mean every Tuesday does it?
Now since some people were not subbed before GR/I18 and came back for it or joined due to it, to them it may seem like it is always every Tuesday. But when were are a good 6+ months of just the Thursday maintenances prior to that and those ending early, those of us who were here see only the temporary spike not an ongoing problem. -
Quote:And given that, I predict at least a temporary huge price spike since the drop rate will not exceed the demand the first month or so.I see that happening. I know that my usual Sunday group will probably be spending a lot of time playing 50's.
I think more purples will be in demand, but I also think more purples will be generated as people play those 50's at 50, since we'll now have more reason to.
But only on the good ones of course. -
Quote:But what if people had shelved their 50s for lack of content now unshelve them and need purples because they never bothered playing them?Yes.
Non-smart *** answer: I19 is coming up, which provides gameplay incentives for players to play their level 50 characters. If the mechanics of Alpha enhancement (not slot) acquisition remain unchanged from what was seen during the Going Rogue closed beta, then I imagine purple prices will decline following I19's release. -
Legion used to be one of my favorites in the mid 70s. I have strong memories of so many issues still in my mind.
Now, who do I choose? -
-
I don't let my travel power dictate fashion. I just go with whatever looks good from every piece of costume including auras.
I can spend hours at the tailor trying to get a look I like. -
Quote:Or longer. I got a bunch once and went almost 20 months without seeing any.I've gotten 3 purples in the last two days. First was an Armageddon : Dam/Rech/Acc with my fire/kin on the "Save warrior clan's village" mission. Second was a Hecatomb: Damage, on the same mission, but on the second day with that toon. The third one was with my spines/dark scrapper soloing the "Defeat Battle Maiden and Guards" mission - a Ragnarok : Dam/End
I was like waaaaaaaaah?! lol. All together it was about 5 farming runs. My fire/kin got his on the first run each day, and my spines/dark was on his first run too. I did two more runs afterwards to see if I could get lucky again, but no such luck. I guess now I won't get any more for a year! heh -

Is that the one where they are trying to kill off the kids because the mother married an unacceptable husband and returns home when he dies?
-
Quote:And yet I have gotten none in that same time frame spending a great deal of time leveling a Fortunata from 47-50 and a scrapper from 45-48 (at +2).Since I18, I've had the following drops:
Apocalypse: Damage
Coercive Persuasion: Contagious Confusion
Soulbound Allegiance: Dam/End
Soulbound Allegiance: Rech/Acc
Fortunata Hypnosis: Rech/Acc
Ragnarok: Rech/Acc
Now, considering the time I've spent in Praetoria, the time I've spent badging in low-level flashbacks, and the time I've spent stealthing paper missions to get Mayhem badges, it's absolutely clear that the devs must have stealth buffed purple drop rates and fixed the biased drop ratios. If it wasn't for evil flippers controlling the market, then purple prices would have crashed to Trap of the Hunter levels by now.
p.s. This is clearly a buff. I don't want to hear any of your crazy theories about 'selective reporting' and so-called 'randomness', or any feeble yammering about 'statistics'. I SAW IT WITH MY OWN EYES AND IT IS TRUFAX.
[edited to add] Grouchybeast stole my purple drops. I demand action!
