Well I think you should try to purple out my fire/fire brute.
But if you insist on one of your characters I like your Lavish Glory. -
It occurs to me there does exist the possibility of teammates asking someone with the power to use it on their behalf and it could become a source of annoyance to some vets. It's not like we can hide our vet badges.

I think if you pursue the exploration badges you should see most of the cool sights there because it takes you to the shipwreck and thorn tree in Nerva, the big TV in Grandville and the casino in St. Martial among other locations.

Quote:Yes I am feeling very entitled about sharing my vet reward I get the first week it is out.Feeling entitled, are we?
I won't see it for at least another year as a Vet reward. And as I've just gotten serious about some marketeering I sure could use it. But I can wait.
What I REALLY want to see (besides a base AH access item) is Web access to the AH or, better yet, some smartphone apps (Android/iPhone) to allow mobile access. When I can get into the game I'd much rather be playing City of Heroes than City of Day Traders. When I can't get into the game would be the ideal time for me to be marketeering and crafting, at least from my point of view. -

I threw it down in the suggestions forum so have at it. I hope they open it up to those of you not hitting 84 soon.
-
The upcoming 84 month vet reward is:
Quote:I suggest making a market related accolade that will enable /auctionhouse for those who do not have the vet reward. In addition to the badge, for 7 years in City of Heroes you will be able to remote access the Auction Houses with the slash command /auctionhouse and gain an additional Character Slot.
Perhaps one of the existing major sales badges could result in the accolade that would do this.
The vet power would still be better in that we won't have to earn it for every character but it would be a nice feature for newer players. -

I'll put it down there.
The opposition can fire away at me and I won't care. -
Quote:Pop those down in the suggestions. There's no reason (I can think of) that it couldn't be available as a non-Vet power accolade for people who have gone through massive market hoops and earned it or bought it in a pack.I just wanted to add my voice to the, "cool feature, but not as a Vet reward" crowd. Something like this would be better off as either part of a Booster Pack, or even better, as a sort of second tier Accolade (the workbench being the first). As a Booster, anyone for whom this feature has value could get it whenever they chose (and converesely be ignored by those for whom it has no value; think of it as the Praetorian Party Pack). As an Accolade, it could again be earned by anyone who puts in the time.
I know many, many 5 and 6 year vets who have no idea how to use Wents, or how the market works in general; I don't know very many people with the Field Crafter badge about whom I can say the same. -

Quote:I don't remember any of that. But that doesn't mean I wasn't playing then.Heck, this young whippersnappers don't even remember when you couldn't have more than one armor on at a time, or when Temp Invulnerability was a click power, or when Scrappers had only four secondaries.
They need to get off our lawn! -
or "I've made up my mind and am not going to let the facts confuse me."

I was going to scold you for telling that. But since the "quitters" aren't competition for us to buy what we want I realized they won't believe it.

I knew nothing of the Green Hornet other than a few snippets about the old TV series I had read and their appearance on Batman in the 60s.
I was mostly unfamiliar with Rogen. I looked at his list on IMDB and it seems most of his work I've encountered has been voice acting. After seeing him in the movie I can see people not liking him. I was indifferent to him. Kato was awesome.
I saw it in 3D because 2D wasn't an option at our theater and the 3D was unnecessary. It was interesting (first 3D movie I've seen in decades) but not beneficial to telling the story. The Thor trailer in 3D seemed to make more use of 3D than the entire Hornet movie.
I enjoyed it quite a bit and will be adding it to my DVD collection when it comes out. -
Yeah, I skipped over 81 because 84 is going to be:
In addition to the badge, for 7 years in City of Heroes you will be able to remote access the Auction Houses with the slash command /auctionhouse and gain an additional Character Slot.
May seems very far away to me right now. -
Quote:I would agree with you but there was a scene in Get Smart that makes me think she can do it.I'm probably in the minority in thinking that Anne Hathaway isn't a good choice for Catwoman. To me, Selina's supposed to radiate enough sex appeal to actually put a dent in Bruce's dedication to justice, and Michelle Pfeiffer pulled that off well, I think. However, I'm not yet convinced Anne Hathaway can play a devious seductress.

Quote:Similarly I didn't want to do those things to get the costume pieces so I chose to not pursue them. I would like to have them but not enough to go through that nonsense for them. You get "some" rewards at "some" pace, this is a point to remember. Some rewards you plain do not get in the ways you want to play, and some you get at such a reduced rate it's almost pointless. Examples?
100 Rularuu Overseers for the Rularuu weapons. There's no chance in hell that I'll do enough Rularuu missions that the odd single Overseer spawn per mission will make up the 100 needed. I need to hunt them. I hate hunting one way or the other, so as long as I'm hunting, I may as well pick up on greys and get it over quicker.
1000 Vanguard Merits for the full costume. To get those from just running Rikti missions would take forever. The entire War Zone storyline plus the Organ Grinders plus Division: Line aren't even close to enough. So I either run Borea's paper-equivalent missions, or I do a ship raid. I don't like either, so my only option is to farm (which I don't do), grind (which I don't want to do) or run Mothership raids (which I hate).
The Romulus Sword and/or Romulus Shield. The only way to get that is via running the ITF. I am SICK AND TIRED of running ITFs, and I don't like the TF to begin with, or TFs in general. But what option do I have? So as long as I'm doing an ITF, it might as well be a fast one.
Quote:Incarnate Shards: At the drop rate they have now, trying to gain enough solo is next to pointless. Well, unless I want to run at +OVERNINETHOUSANDDD!!!, which I don't. Teaming is an option, which I generally don't want to do, and end-game TFs are an option, which again basically means ITFs over and over again. Either that, or Tin Mage, which sucks big time. As long as I'm grinding for Shards, I might as well get it over with faster.
Quote:Hunt 50 Rikti in Abandoned Sewers at level 38. Trial Zone size (aka 8-man size) spawns of level 38 and up in all locations other than the Atlas Park entrance where they're 36 and up. Solo. Yeah, I hate hunting, I hate hunting huge spawns with bosses, and I hate having to go through large spawns of high-level Hydra before I get to what I need. So as long as I'm doing it, I might a well pick the place where they're low level and gank them for a fast mission complete.
Making lots of money. "Just play the Market," they say. "Buy cheap recipes and craft them." "Get things with Tickets and sell them." "Use Hero Merits." Yeah, no thanks. Playing the Market is hideously boring, and playing crafter is even worse, especially when I have to wade through people's horrible fan fiction in the Architect. If I ever NEED to make lots of money via these methods, you can bet your cat that I'll find a way to do it as fast as I can with as little effort.
I would LOVE it if the game allowed me to eat my cake and have it, too, by letting me just play the game as I enjoy it and still get the good stuff, but it doesn't. And suggesting it should only gets people to call me greedy, arrogant, spoiled and so on and so forth. Because clearly if I don't want to put in the hard work, I don't deserve the reward. -

Isn't tin used to make tinfoil? I think there ought to be a conspiracy to drive up the price of their hats.
-
Quote:The anti-market types never get this. And yet you don't seem to grasp that "unreasonable" profit is not the result of "market pvp, price fixing and flipping", but of people *actually being willing to pay that much*.
If I'm having a yard sale and some wide-eyed dude runs up to me with a wad of bills and goes "OH MY GOD I MUST HAVE THIS COWBELL I WILL GIVE YOU $500 FOR IT", am I supposed to go "no sir, that cowbell is only worth about $1, I would be making *far* too much of a profit, I must hold on to it until an old grandmother who *really* wants it comes along"?
They also never invest one bit of effort into thinking through the time it will take to get the drop themselves versus simply just tossing 50k out there to get a common salvage or the time to earn AE tickets and randomly roll.
It's easier for them to imagine some evil forces are behind all they do not like while they ignore that those same forces seem to never touch the junk on the market.
It's supply and demand not conspiracies. Sellers have the supply and those of us with a greater demand on it will pay happily for it. I get a tell from someone every time they "overpay" for common salvage that a certain forumite will cry when they do it. I think I will start doing the same. -
Quote:You're wrong and not worth the time to read or respond to.I think you're all reading far too much into a casual statement.
A game economy that is exceedingly limited and subject to manipulations that would never work IRL is not exactly a strong ground for you to be basing moral judgments on.
And yes, anyone who price fixed a piece of salvage to a 10000% price increase for the sole reason of taking advantage of others for the sheer sake of doing so, makes you a jerk in my mind. You can justify it any way you want, but the bottom line is that most of the people doing so are simply doing it to amuse themselves at the expense of others. Making a profit is one thing, manipulating the market to those kind of extremes is another. -
Quote:To sightsee the shipwreck?Nerva is a big zone, but there's really not much justification for putting in a ferry service that would take you up to the north end of the zone. Why would a civilian ferry boat regularly go to Primeva or Thorn Isle?
A ferry boat service in IP makes sense because it's supposedly a busy port area. Nerva? Not so much. Those isolated areas in Nerva are "isolated" for a reason.
Or "Mr. Portal" could open his portal up to send and receive from somewhere.
