Quote:I like the way you think. But I am still impatient. If only names on accounts dubbed "Trial 59602" were going to be freed up...
I completely understand why that can't be done, returning players and all that. I just tire of coming up with a name, seeing it is taken, and finding out (through /getglobalname) that the account that's holding it is a generic trial. Oh well.
As for the release date, I'm still betting October or later, considering Mac users cannot yet access the full version of the open beta, nor access the paragon store, and Zwillinger stated here that i21 would not go live until that was fixed. Granted, that could be fixed tomorrow and a September release would be feasible. But I would rather plan for a later release and be pleasantly surprised if it shows up earlier. -

Freedom launching in August?! Or do I have to wait longer?

I would like the solo path buffed somewhat and I would definitely love the incarnate building process to be easier (less complex to use that is - edited for clarification). I find it a bit overwhelming compared to the ease of inventions.

Quote:Or just keep in mind the complainers are trying to set both of those definitions and they are mostly only buying. What's amazing to me is that a seller is so easily accused of greed for deciding the price of an item he owns, but a buyer who desires to set the price of an item someone else owns is so often considered pure as the driven snow.
Seems to me we need a new definition of greed to reconcile that disparity.
Do what I do. Continue to enjoy the game and enjoy it more knowing every single time you buy an item for "too much" or list it for "too much" you are enraging the whiners. I love to pay "buy it nao prices" as I imagine the seething of the ignorant. -
You know I was thinking I wouldn't be playing any of my 50s this weekend but maybe I should at least take one on an incarnate TF.

Quote:Equating inf with real money is one aspect where the people who wail about the high prices always go wrong.Dollars? I doubt that.
Part of the "big price tag" problem is that people think in dollars (or any other currency) instead of influence. 100 million influence is a relatively small sum of currency whereas 100 million dollars or euros is way more than most families can earn in a lifetime.
Think in influence: how much one influence is worth, what your basic salary (1mil/hour) can get you, how much influence you need for a really good build compared to baseline (hint: not very much).
Their second error is typically "well I don't have that much inf so the price isn't fair" because they are so self absorbed that if any aspect of the game doesn't cater to their desires it is "broken" or "bad people are keeping me from what I want".
So your point actually needs to be not directed at the person but the playerbase overall. It doesn't matter if I only have 200 inf to rub together if 60% of the playerbase has a billion or more because the majority of the players will be setting prices.
In the how much a 50 can earn thread while the worst of us could solo 1M per hour in just inf that character is still in competition with the 10M per hour earners. They can either adjust their expectations or rail against reality. -

Quote:The problem is from the mile high view it probably does work. Across the entire playerbase of activities it likely shows a proper random distribution. Unfortunately I think it behaves preferentially for some and very nasty for others for some reason.I totally agree with this. The RNG seems to be missing its R. I'd love it if the devs would talk to us about how it works, or at least agree to double check it and make sure everything is kosher.
I haven't had as bad luck as some of the folks in this thread, but there's been plenty of times when I notice a long streak of misses, for example. And I normally have the combat logs open or I monitor "Last Chance To Hit," so I know if I've been debuffed or not.
At the very least it is often very streaky for me.
Of course dice rolling in real life has also never been favorable for me so perhaps like gravity and contrary to Obi-Wan's claim there is such a thing as luck. -
I don't know for sure who I am going to play other than it won't be my 50s since I do want to get some characters up some levels.
It depends on who seems like fun at the time when I login. -
Considering the source of the claim I wouldn't believe it even if I didn't know it to be absurdly false.

I am curious about how Praetorians will fit into the hero/villain dynamic of the missions.

Suggestions and Ideas tip: If it seems like an obvious request odds are it has been made before in the last 7 years so a search in the Suggestions and Ideas forum might be in order before posting.

I will be the Chosen One of the Market and bring balance to it.

The answer to "Just how much can the RNG hate you?" is "How much hate is there."
Then every now and then the horrible thing will throw you a bone just to let you know who's the boss or to get your hopes up so it can smash them. -
Quote:Right now a lot of people are probably hanging around in Pocket D bashing snowmen and such.i dont think i said this before but this is THE most fun game ever!!!!! anyway my lev 29 tank is now lev 31
but my lev 24 brute is still 24 because i cant find anyone in sharkhead on freedom(?). freedom of all servers!!!!
I still say this is the most fun game ever and it's getting close to 7 years for me. -
Quote:Or they could just give us some other stuffs to buy with our inf.So will inflation continue forever? That really depends on how much further our combat efficiency is allowed to increase without some corresponding decrease in reward for defeating the same foes with greater alacrity. As far as we know, the future will bring more combat effectiveness in terms of Incarnate abilities, but also as far as we know, there's nothing about that increase that will make, say, level 52 mobs worth less per defeat. That suggests that market-wide inflation still has some wind in its wings, with a rate that will depend on how fast we can earn new incarnate abilities. I'm not sure inflation will be allowed to continue forever, but if it continues at its pace from the last year or so too much longer, I think the devs might be forced to concede that either the aggregate rate of per-capita reward or the inf cap need review.

Quote:The first movie was "biblical" too.I'd like to see it come back, but with the spirit of the 1st movie and less of the "biblical" second and third movie undertones. Hackers vs Programs in the Matrix-world.

My feelings are if we can drop a 10-stack in the market I would like us to be able to drop a 10-stack into our email.
Some means to more accurately email would be nice like right clicking on a name or global from the global friends list.
As for emailing to ourselves I would love that but here's what I do in the meantime is I send one test mail to myself and copy the global name out before I send.
Then I paste it in the emails I send after that. It's annoying but safer than typing each time.
