Quote:Not gonna happen. What people seem to forget is the whole point of I13: to make newbies good.
In all honesty, stalker's need to have AS buffed and sharks toned down. Stupid is stupid.
Think about it. AS is arguably the hardest thing in the game to do. I mean, in a game where all you have to do to attack someone is click a button, having to be right next to someone for a good couple seconds (5-8 secs with Freedom's lag) puts AS on a different level from everything else.
In my opinion, the fact that AS is weak and sharks are strong is completely intended. It makes newbies less dependant on the most skillful thing in the game, and more dependent on pretty much the easiest. This makes I13 a success. Newbies become better than they're supposed to be.
Good luck getting the devs to go back on their entire goal of I13....a goal they willingly lost like 70% of the PvP community to attain. -
You're missing nothing. The set is basically broken. Just like claws for scrappers. The sets do less damage than everything else, with ZERO logic on why. Since I13, the devs have ignored all questions based on the logic of anything. And it makes sense why. The new system has no logic whatsoever, with everything being based around random whims of the developers.
So ice blast and claws became basically unplayable (at least you'd be a moron for playing them, when all other sets do twice as much damage)....while stalkers got sharks, tanks got fossilize, doms became blasters with weak mezzes, etc.
But hey, at least PvP is perfectly balanced now, right? -
People here don't need excuses. People tried playing traps in CoH a long time before you did, and they realized they suck a long time ago. You're the one making ridiculous claims, so you're the one that should prove it. Kind of like Columbus. He didn't ask all of Europe to prove to him that the Earth was flat, because HE was the one making the crazy claim that it's round. So he ended up proving his point.
So please, for everybody's sake, be Columbus. Come to Freedom, and "teach" all of us how amazing traps are in PvP. I know you totally failed at that last time you were on Freedom (hence the existence of this thread), but maybe the 2nd time will work better. -

Yep, both NW and Fort versions.

Quote:Wouldn't it have made more sense to have a rule requiring people to show up for at least ONE practice in order to be eligible for match play? Sure, D6 is "just for fun", but that doesn't mean people should be completely incompetent.we all run the risk of having those people come out to play and hurting the team for that night...
Requiring one practice is obviously not a big commitment, but it would at least help clueless people become less clueless.
It doesn't seem fair to the people who are truly trying to have some guy show up one total time, literally lose the match for his team, and then never show up again. -
No, I don't think it would be any "funnier". It's funny enough.

99% of the PvP community agrees with this. Unfortunately, the devs don't care. They decided that the entire "crowd control" system should be all or nothing.
At least it's consistent. Just how Fly can be completely stopped by using one of 50 different powers, an actual player can be stopped by using one of 100 different powers (any mez).....and there is absolutely nothing he can do about it, regardless of how good he is at the game. It's the epitome of "all or nothing". -
Zone PvP is only considered a joke because it's almost never fair....not because it's really easy. There's nothing easy about fighting 1v10.
Virtue's zones would probably be a good starting point because there are zero good players left there. But soon after starting, you'll most likely want to transfer to Freedom, because chances are on Virtue, you'll rarely even have anybody to PvP with. Basically the entire PvP community has moved to Freedom at this point.
Lastly, you probably don't want to hear it, but playing something in PvP just because you enjoy it in PvE is not a good idea. Chances are your playstyle, and sometimes the entire AT, will be completely different than what you're used to. But it won't hurt to try. -

Explaining skill to a bad player is like explaining color to a blind man.

No matter how many times you ask the same question, the answer will be the same. You were told what's good and what isn't....about 10 times now, each time in a separate thread you made. Stop asking pointless questions.

WP is pretty useless.
Only good scrapper sets are /regen, and in far 2nd place /fire. -

Yeah I saw her sitting next a drone couple days ago, desperatly hoping to drone anyone that got close enough. Leet skillz.

You do have a point about dominate being "auto"hit. And yeah, I guess if you spend enough to get to elude levels without taking elude, you might as well be a fort.
But you gotta be the only fort left in the game that's spent that much on a fort -
lol you mean 200 times this month. Seriously skeet, we're all tired of arguing about it. If you really think I13 was good, great for you. You're wrong, but nobody really cares about proving you wrong anymore.

Is there any reason whatsoever that you're talking about forts and not NW's? I don't see a single reason why someone would even bother with a fort. NW's can be useful though, for all the reasons Steatoda mentioned.
Keep in mind, shatter armor is a permanent -20% res. Perma meaning it's very easy to keep it on someone all the time. That's kinda like a rad corr permanently having EF on someone....EF that can't be dropped. It does become very noticeable. -
You're all liars. Everybody knows PvP drops happen for 1 out of every 3 kills. Just how scrappers can 1 shot +10 level bosses, remember?

Read the patch notes for Issue 13. Or search the forums for "diminishing returns".

Quote:Perfect explanation.those 3-5 people don't have to work for their kill because after a certain point the mechanics give them that kill .
The number of people you should be able to get away from varies...or at least used to vary, based on skill. Like mac said, 2 people could roll the zone if they were significanlty better than the rest of the players. And that's how it should be.
Now it's laughable to even think that could happen. You could have the best 2 players in CoH history, and if they're outnumbered like 10 to 2, they will get completely wrecked by complete newbies....because that is how the game is designed now.
