ah ok, that's 2 votes for sonic. I'll also have to check out /cold as well. So I guess /time wouldn't be all that good then?
-
Hi, outside of fire/rad or /traps, is there another pair that would do just as well when trying to solo AVs/GMs? I have so many fire toons and wanted to try something different. I was thinking of ice/time but wasn't sure if it would be powerful enough? I also like /time's ability to provide a huge amount of defense. Any thoughts?

Hi,
I had a question regarding /rad's choking cloud... When facing an AV/GM and running enervating field, lingering radiation, and radiation infection, would choking cloud then work to hold them? I'm assuming with an AV debuffed by those three other powers, choking cloud has to be somewhat effective but I could be wrong. With the high endurance cost of it, I just wanted to know if it would be worth having it toggled on and staying within melee range... And also, if it was effective, I'd have to build for more melee defense as opposed to ranged since I'll need to get up close and personal.
Oh, FYI, my primary is fire. Although I'm not sure if that was the best primary to choose but I guess that is another topic for later. : )
Thanks! -
Hi,
I'm trying to figure out what the best attack chain would be for kinetic melee when fighting AVs but I'm not having any luck... Although my first and only AV solo attempt so far was against Marauder, I couldn't make a dent in him.
I started spamming the first 3 KM attacks and hitting power siphon when it came up but that wasn't really doing much. Then I started throwing in concentrated strike since it is a hard hitter and has the chance to recharge power siphon but the attack is just too slow. I'm wondering if maybe I need to use focused burst... Anyone experienced with KM have suggestions?
I know Marauder has crazy high resistance but, as a scrapper, I would think KM would still hurt him... of course, not as good as fire melee would... -
LOL I guess I should have given more detail - I have all of the other dark melee attacks with the exception of Touch of Fear. In addition, taking those 3 soul powers I don't have room for Midnight Grasp but figured having those three powers would overall outweigh having Midnight Grasp.
-
Is it worth taking if I have gloom, darkest night and dark obliteration?
-
Thanks for the input!! Just looking in mids I didn't realize the endurance cost of DN so cardiac alpha would probably be best. I'm thinking rebirth for the heal would definitely help having low resistance and support siphon life.
-
Hi, I'm not sure how players actually go with SR on brutes these days but I wanted to know if a dark melee/SR/soul brute would be a viable option for some good AV soloing. Outside of SR, the only other secondary I would consider for this particular toon would be invuln. But I figured dark melee and SR would work very well together along with soul mastery.
Oh and as far as Incarnate powers, I'll probably go with muscular alpha and rebirth for the extra heal. Not sure if reactive is the best choice when fighting AVs.
Any thoughts and/or suggestions? Thanks -
Hi guys,
Has anyone ever seen any discussions regarding enhancement slotting and being able to remove currently slotted enhancements out and inserting new ones without having to use a respec or throwing out the old ones in the trash bin?
With IOs being so expensive these days, some of my toons that I no longer play have enhancements I'd like to slot on other toons but the only way to do that is to respec the toon to pull those out... Plus, say if you have 12 enhancements you want to grab, you have to use 2 respecs to get them since you can only hold up to 10 at a time...
I never understood the point of having these things locked in... -
Although I'll take any improvements (if you want to call it that) the devs are willing to provide, I still don't know why shield toggle dropping when switching forms (both PB and WS) was not addressed... I like playing in all forms and to have to toggle on 6 shields (3 main shields, weave, combat jumping, manuevers) every time I switch back to human form just doesn't seem efficient. Or at least let the main shields from dropping while in combat. I don't know, am I the only one that feels this way?
-
So outside of that mentioned fire/fire/body tank, would there be no other melee toons up to this challenge? How about a elec/km tank? Or are corrs/doms the only choice?
-
Hi,
I wanted to know if anyone has a soft-capped S/L regen or has tried to softcap S/L def on a /regen scrapper and if it is even worth it to do so? I was working on a new toon (KM/regen) on Mids and I figured I'd give it a shot to softcap S/L def. and actually managed to do it rather easily. I know recharge is a /regen's best friend but wouldn't soft-capped S/L def but just as good, if not better, especially if trying to solo an AV or fighting large mobs?
Any thoughts? -
Well, for me, the redraw can be annoying at times but my claws/elec brute is too beastly for me to stop playing because of it. Claws is pretty fast acting and you do get used to it once you've played it a while. I say give it a shot. Nothing like a claws brute ripping up lots of baddies with spin and eviserate.
-
aw, man... that's too bad... thanks for the info!!
-
Has there been any recent announcements or discussions about patron power color customization or any possible chance of changing weapon redraw so it isn't affected by powers such as hasten or a self-heal ?
-
After going back and forth on whether to go with claws/elec or claws/fire, I've decided to give claws/elec a shot since I have several /fire toons and want to try something new. Here is the build I was looking to go with, can you please take a look and let me know what you think?

Thank you both for your input! After doing a couple of quick build comparisons in Mids I think I might try out electric. Although I might not be able to kill stuff as fast with electric as opposed to fire, I noticed the following benefits:
Not having to worry about fitting in KB IOs
Having some Psionic resistance would be nice
Energize looks good for lots of regen and will be easy to perma that with spiritual alpha
End sapping with power sink should be very helpful
Lightning reflexes for extra recharge will have my attacks up quicker
I also plan on taking soul for dark oblit and darknest night.
Although nothing might never compare to burn from /FA, elec seems to be well rounded and has plenty to offer as well. Also, I'm wondering if elec might also stack up better when trying to AV solo although I guess like any armor its situational depending on what you are fighting.
Is my thinking on the right track?
Oh, and on a side note - do people usually slot follow-up with damage or go for Gaussians for the set bonuses? -
Hi guys, I'm trying to decide whether to choose between elec or fire for my new claws brute. I know the dmg power of fire from my experience with my fire/SS tank but I'm not familiar with electric. Although i will farm at times, that is not my main goal. I like to run alot of TF/SFs especially at lower levels and can't help but wonder if electric might be better suited for that. Any thoughts or even some pro/cons comparing the 2 armors?

Hi guys,
I was working some new builds in mids and had this crazy thought regarding barrier and wanted to know if any other players have either thought the same thing or are currently playing this way.... Now, of course, this is assuming you will always play at level 50 and not exemp down...
So, if you get the T4 barrier, there shouldn't be any downtime from when it wears off to when you can activate it again, right? (Although I don't know how the scaling down of the resist/def would work as you get closer to the expiration of the power). But has anyone thought to just have this set to auto-click and for all of your IO enhancements and set bonuses just strictly focus on recharge/damage/accuracy and not even worry about trying to build up either positional or typed defense.
You wouldn't have to worry about trying to grab maneuvers or weave or even tough can be skipped unless using it as a set mule. That would open up other options you may have not tried before, as well as save on endurance not having to run those extra toggles.
Just a thought but not sure how it would actually work in-game as I have yet to get barrier to T4 to see its full effect. What do you guys think? -
Not unlocked yet but I'm working on it. I was hoping to get some good feedback before I unlock it and get the free respec.
-
I'm currently rocking out the pyre pool set and T3 pyronic judgement power on my Fire/SS tank and although he is pretty beastly right now, I can't help but think I might be able to get a a little more bang for my buck if I switch to either the Mu or Soul Patron pools. However, I can't decide which would be the better choice.
For Mu, electric cages would be nice and I would also take static discharge although I'm not sure if it's worth it. I would definitely take ball of lightning and skip over the pet.
For Soul, I could take gloom to replace hurl boulder, and I would also take soul tentacles, dark obliteration, as well as darkest night (which I'm assuming would also be a worth while power to have).
Oh, and I just want to mention that whichever patron pool I go with, I'd be taking either the ionic or void judgement power to match.
Suggestions please? -
Thank you for the info. Yeah, I wouldn't really need it for either tanking or farming but I figured since I have all of the other incarnate powers built up I would build a lore pet for the extra damage which is always good to have. I just didn't want to start creating each one without maybe getting some feedback first from fellow tankers.
-
With those tankers out there experienced with the lore pets, what would you recommend for a fire/ss tank? I am still undecided on what I should make. Or has anyone come across a post somewhere that gives some details and the benefits of each? Thanks!

Why not learn to play the toon and the strengths and weaknesses of your powers before you start farming in AE?? I'm assuming your goal is to farm +4 x 8, right? You say you don't know when to use consume... or when to use burn.... or what to build for (defense, recharge, etc.)... well, of course, you wouldn't know those things if you haven't learned what works and what doesn't. By saying you don't know how to use fire so you want to find another build, you probably won't know how to use another power set either if you haven't played it before... I'm sorry if I am coming off rude but your best bet is to learn by playing. This game has plenty to offer... try doing something outside of AE farming, you may be surprised.

Hi,
I recently hit lvl 50 on my human form Warshade and just got the first tier for Clarion. What a huge difference it makes to have status protection!!!! My main goal now is to get the tier 4 Clarion as soon as possible. It makes playing a kheld so much more fun (of course, not that it wasn't already a good time). I just wonder since now that we have this power available to us if there will ever be any consideration by the developers to give us inherent status protection.
Side note: Oh, and if they could just take the KB out of dark detonation, I'd be golden!!!
