Well, part of the original reason for locking in enhancements was that it was one of the few if only influence sinks the game had in the beginning.
That said, Enhancement unslotters will be available for purchase in the new Paragon Market coming with I21. There will also be additional Enhancement trays available, up to a max of 30 (I think) slots (3 trays worth).

Yes. Also, they've just confirmed FREE RESPECS FOR EVERYBODY, so this is probably coming in on the right time to use your freespecs to get stuff out of characters.

* Obtain them by buying them from the market or as rewards from the Paragon Rewards program.
* They will appear in your email box, under Character Items, I believe.
* Get the unslotter out of the email on the character you want to use it on. It will appear as Special salvage in your Salvage window.
* Go to the Enhancement page. Click and drag the desired enhancement on to a slot in the tray.
* A dialog will appear asking if you want to consume an unslotter.
* Say yes and you've got the enhancement back.

Has anyone ever seen any discussions regarding enhancement slotting and being able to remove currently slotted enhancements out and inserting new ones without having to use a respec or throwing out the old ones in the trash bin?
With IOs being so expensive these days, some of my toons that I no longer play have enhancements I'd like to slot on other toons but the only way to do that is to respec the toon to pull those out... Plus, say if you have 12 enhancements you want to grab, you have to use 2 respecs to get them since you can only hold up to 10 at a time...
I never understood the point of having these things locked in...
