  1. Thanks for the feedback. I took a first attempt at making a fort in Mids that had a little bit of both claws and and mental attacks. I never know the best way to post builds for people to review so I included the power selection/slotting and data link. Tell me how good/bad it is and what powers I should have taken and which ones should be left in the dust. I took tough for some extra resistance. Travel power will be ninja run. I was going to go with incarnate rebirth for my heal at lvl 50.

  2. Hi guys,

    Although I have yet to dabble in the world of SoA, going through the forums has definitely sparked my interest! I'm leaning towards making a Fortunata and had a couple of quick questions:

    How does a Fortunata do when it comes to AV soloing? I've typically played melee characters and AV soloing has always been a joy of mine. I would like to do the same with a fort if possible.

    Does mind link work if you are not on a team?

    Going through the forums, I've noticed any/all fortunata builds I've come across no one takes any of the melee attacks. Is that something you just don't do on a fort? I could see wanting to take spin and dart burst for more aoe.

    Foresight - how well does this do in providing resistance when your health drops? And do you slot it for some resist to help? Mids doesn't show how it would scale.

    Any feedback and/or suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

  4. These days when creating a melee toon... stalker, scrap, brute, or even tank, why would someone still choose super reflexes over the other armor sets considering the majority of them now have some type of heal, end management and/or resistance/defense mix?

    I do like super reflexes and always have but I just wonder in the game's current state where it actually falls in comparison to its peers. Being soft capped to everything is great, don't get me wrong, but when soloing an AV or even x8 mobs, those hits will eventually get through and that's when the trouble begins.

    Looking for some general feedback and discussion... not looking to get anyone fired up necessarily. Knowledge is power and I can certainly use some in this case. LOL

  5. I was thinking about making an energy melee/ice stalker for pure AV heavy hitting goodness but it seems like kinetic melee is really the better option to go with. I actually like the animations for energy melee's assassin's strike and energy transfer.

    I'm not sure, however, how the energy melee ST damage is on a stalker compared to other sets. Am I wasting my time going with energy melee or are there players out there that still enjoy it even after the energy transfer nerf?

    Also, the lack of an aoe attack might be a downer at times but I was planning on picking up waterspout or some other patron power to help with aoe.

    So, is it really that bad? I was thinking of pairing it up with fire aura adding burn and fiery embrace should also help add some additional damage. I worked up a quick build in Mids and it looked like single target damage would be decent too but I could be wrong.

    For those with ice melee experience, let me know what you think. I've never played ice melee before and it looks like it could be a fun and interesting set.

    Dual Blades

    Thanks for all of the feedback!! I decided to give it a try and went with a stone/dual blades tank.... And from what I've seen so far (only level 14) I'm really enjoying it!!!!

    I cant wait to get granite to see a big chunk of rock swinging blades all over the place!! Just wondering though, if I should go stone brute instead for the higher damage since I would like to solo AVs from time to time...

    What secondary would push out more damage for soloing AVs - fire or super strength? Or is there another primary better than both (ex titan weapons)?

    I plan on going with stone armor as my primary. I have a couple of builds worked out and was still able to get double stacked rage even with stone's recharge penalty but didn't know if fire would still be king.

    What do you guys suggest? Thanks!

  14. What do you guys think is the best attack to slot Scrapper's Strike crit proc in Titan Weapons? I currently have it in rend armor but I'm thinking there has to be a better attack for it. My secondary is energy aura.

    I need some help with my TW/elec brute... I'm not sure if my current build is maximized to its potential. I was trying to solo Marauder (he was a lvl 51 AV) the other day and I couldn't even make a dent in him... I know his smashing/lethal resistance is high but as a brute I didnt think I'd still have such a hard time especially with the fury bar full. My attack chain did vary but that was b/c I was hitting whatever attack was up at the time trying to keep momentum up. Can you please take a look at my build and let me know what you think? I was also thinking of changing my alpha to something to give me more accuracy as I felt as my attacks were missing more than they should...

    I'm looking to make a new melee toon and although I have yet to decide on whether it will be a scrapper or a brute, I've decided to go with martial arts. I've never tried that melee set so I'd like to give it a go.

    Just curious to get some feedback from those who are experienced with martial arts on how it does in terms of performance (single target, any aoe, etc) and what to be aware of in my journey to 50.

    Oh, also not sure on the secondary but maybe thinking of pairing it with Invuln, WP, or maybe even electric.

    Coming from a Fire/rad corr and having a lot of success killing stuff, what can I expect from AR/TA? I know it probably won't be as strong as my fire/rad but the 2 sets together look like it could be a lot of fun and I have an archery themed character I'd like to make. Anyone with experience with this combo have any advice or suggestions?

    Intuition Alpha

    Hi guys,

    Quick question regarding the alpha slot... I'm a fire/rad with Muscular Partial Radical Revamp currently slotted. I was planning on building up the whole tree to get the T4 with 45% damage increase but after briefly looking over the other alphas, I'm wondering if Intuition might be the better way to go... Yeah, I'd be losing my damage increase but with hold, defense debuff, slow, tohit defuffs and range it would seem like it is the better choice.

    Any opinions or thoughts?

  23. wow great info!!! So, I guess for AV soloing fire is still king but would you say ice falls in as second for primary choice? So I wonder how well an ice/cold would do soloing AVs.
