Is it worth taking if I have gloom, darkest night and dark obliteration?

If that's all you have, then yes definitely.

LOL I guess I should have given more detail - I have all of the other dark melee attacks with the exception of Touch of Fear. In addition, taking those 3 soul powers I don't have room for Midnight Grasp but figured having those three powers would overall outweigh having Midnight Grasp.

Midnight grasp is integral to any of the best dark melee attack chains.

I'd lose shadow punch if you have the rest of the attacks (and in point of fact, I did on my own dark melee characters).

Weight training: Because you'll never hear someone lament "If only I were weaker, I could have saved them."

If not taking it doesn't hurt your fun...then you don't need it.

However, that being said...it's Dark Melee's level 32 power for a reason.

Midnight Grasp is a great skill, and has very high DPA when you factor in Arcana-time server ticks. I always drop Shadow Punch for Midnight Grasp at this point. It has been buffed to the point where it is your best attack aside from Gloom as far as DPA is concerned.

Yeah same here. I skipped Shadow Punch and took MG. I believe you do need a bit of global recharge to have a full attack chain that way, but I don't think you need a lot unless you want to run the best attack chain.

With the interface procs it's not as much of a no-brainer as it used to be. SP will get 47 DPA from Interface, while MG will get 22. It's not enough to catch up, but for me it's easier to work a Gloom, Shadow Punch and Smite chain, and it requires less total powers.
