    Wat is new farm

The Wat farm is amazing from what I've heard.
  2. What if you acquire 1 billion inf in debt and are unable to make 2 billion quickly, like some can?
  3. So, I take it that we should avoid the blue patches? Gotcha, though I'll probably be one of those who're getting that "one more attack" off and dying for it. It's okay though, as my man Vigo said "Death is but a door, time is but a window, I'll be back."

Actually, you sound like you want to be like the ant, just heedlessly throwing yourself into the fray (and certain death) for the sake of the colony.

Me? I'm a superhero and a weasel. Both know the value of tactical retreat, and both know that sometimes you have to approach a threat from a different angle in order to win.

When Battle Maiden arrives from Praetoria, she streaks down from low Earth orbit, smashing into Steel Canyon like a meteor causing massive destruction.

She proceeds to dispatch all of the heroes and defense forces in the area, after all, Steel Canyon is only a level 20 zone at max. She does this solo for the most part (I consider her Warriors being part of her Lore Incarnate slot, pets if you will).

It takes eight proto-Incarnates to bring her down, yet her attacks can and will devastate any of them.

When we arrive in Praetoria, we crawl out of the sewer. We cause zero damage; Neuron's plaza remains pristine on the mission map as if we have no impact or signigance at all.

We proceed to struggle against nameless nobody enemies who are automagically level 54, in Neutropolis, a level 20 max zone.

With the help of seven allies, we only face two heroes, and their powers are superior to ours in every way. Compared to how we fared against BM's attacks, they laugh off ours. It takes one lazy catgirl to bring down any of us and the only reason we win is by it being 8 on 1 (or 4 on 1 depending) like cowards.

Who comes across as more epic and powerful in these two examples? NOT US in my opinion. I don't feel more powerful. I don't feel like I'm "on the way to being seen as a peer to the NPCs." I feel like I've been reduced in power, because before I could at least stand up to any of them. Now I have to run away like an ant being chased by a magnifying glass, kite like a coward and fight legions of demonic spiders because of a sadistic GM.

    .
I dunno, that situation sounds pretty damn epic to me. A small group of heroes, outmatched and outgunned by forces from outside their world, standing up and saying "No, I will not run and hide. I'd rather die on my feet, and rail against these so-called 'unbeatable odds'." and then sneaking into the heart of their enemy's land to thwart any more threats that may be brewing, knowing full well that it might be a suicide mission.

    That's epic to me.
  5. So... I'm the only one who's planning on only having some of my characters become Incarnates?
  6. Eh, Longbow is only mildly better than Vanguard in my eyes.
  7. There've been multiple ITFs going on every night for a week or so now.

An added bonus is that many of my players had memorized the Monster Manual (back when I played D&D, many years ago). With custom NPCs, the players can't say, "Oh that's Monster X, from page 53 of the MM. I use a flask of burning oil, as flame is its weakness".

So yeah, I tend to avoid the ROUS in encounters for new characters. I may throw something similar in every once in a while, but it's typically a sideshow to the real adventure.
That's why you equip the monsters. In keeping with the topic, a Thief's Guild of Wererat Rogues and multiclass Rogues would be one hell of an adventure, especially when they decide to utilize normal and dire rats in their defense.
  9. I love playing villains, and since GR came out, I've been playing more of them (mostly because they can be Rogues now). I just hate hate HATE the Rogue Isles. The atmosphere is just... bleh.
  10. Currently, my Elec/Kin Controller and my Ice/Ice tank (though he's a great classical-style tank, which is good for teaming). Once I figure out something to reroll them as something more my style, I will. But for now, they're sitting around, taking up space.
  11. More overtly innocent, but covertly disturbing stuff in the vein of D&D's Tasha's Hideous Uncontrollable Laughter? I approve.

That actually doesn't sound too bad, melee/range/buff/debuff out of the box, as well as defenses from Power Pools. Give them the Blaster Epic Pools and they'll get a little bit of control.

Of course, this would require a discriminating eye when choosing powersets.
  13. Very sweet, and the comic is kinda corny in a good way, but does CoH have some sort of deal with the Post? Wasn't War Witch interviewed by them a little while back? Can't they get attention from a newspaper that isn't known for the large amounts of typos it makes and the fact that it's a lower price than their competitors and it shows?

    AE Power Combos

That's why I prefer Resistance only over Defense only, there's always going to be someone who gets are lucky shot in, so being able to take that punch is a good thing.
  15. Forgive me for being fairly tech illiterate, but I've been using /macro "Slap" "e smack$$e slap" to alternate between the Slap and Smack emotes for a while, though I don't know how far outside that it can be taken. Also, we could be talking about completely different types of macros (if there are some, I don't know).

BTW - Is it possible to Soft Cap without use of IO's? Seeing as how the game is balanced around SO's, that really might not be as big of an issue as assumed.

Things will improve over time. Much like the invention system was initially this esoteric, mind-boggling labyrinth of math and economics, it's now generally well understood by a good portion of the playerbase (well, except for the economics part).
I've only just recently begun reading the forums and I've been playing for the better part of 6 years.

Also, most people (myself included) don't understand real world economics, let alone video game economics.
  18. I want to add an addendum to the Knockback love: Ragdoll physics. I forget when this was added to the game, but it's made knockback much more fun.
  19. I'm hoping that each new issue adds a little bit more in the realm of new options for animations.

That might do in the tank-blasters, but other combos aren't as broken.

Yeah. Like I said, there's potential to be mined here. More combos and options are always welcome.

I thought that was funny as hell.

Thug 1: Later! *falls over dead*
Me: No. There will be no "later".

As for me, add me to the list of those who love the variety, the customization, the people and the knockback (which rectifies my usual dislike for the usual "stand face to face and punch" each other fighting in this game).
  24. I personally like the newer animation for X-Ray Eye Beams, and I've never understood the hate for the Breath attacks (it's probably coming from all you stuck up humans ), but I too was disappointed with the new animations. It's a good start though.
