I think there are far, FAR too many forgotten/underused zones in this game for the Devs to even CONSIDER adding new zones.
I went through the list of CoH zones on Paragon Wiki and I've got a total of 15 zones.- Abandoned Sewers
- Boomtown
- Cascade Archipelago
- The Chantry
- Crey's Folley
- Dark Astoria
- Eden
- Firebase Zulu
- Galaxy City
- The Hive
- Perez Park
- The Storm Palace
- Striga Isle
- The Troll Tunnels
- Terra Volta
That's out of 30 hero-only zones. That means exactly HALF of the Hero zones are unused or barely touched. There is a LOT of potential among those zones, and it'd be ridiculous of the Devs insisted on making MORE zones. (Praetoria aside) -
I don't use IOs anyway.
Edit: WOAH WOAH WOAH! Hold the phone! Three months later, and I just now realized I forgot to say it, but. . .
*ahem*
FIRST POST AFTER A RED NAME! -
Quote:Technology origin PB? *eyebrow raise*My Peacebringer is non-standard. I've never really established what he is, but it's not impossible that he's simply a robot housing a Kheldian inside him.
On the other hand, my Warshade has nothing to do with Kheldians and is rather a goo-girl made of living ink. -

I didn't know about the problem with putting healing enhancments in, so I'll probably take those out.
As far as other slots though, I like to slot the protectors more defensivley, so I give them 2 defense buff enhancements. I also find it incredibly useful to give them 2 endurance reduction enhancements too. Without them, my Protector Bots were always running out of endurance. -
So here is my experience.
After making this thread, I decided I'd give IOs another stab. I decided I would start making some common level 50 IOs for my level 47 MM. I gathered the recipies and salvage over the course of about a week, and I was pretty happy with myself. Then I crafted and slotted them. And THAT is where my hope for getting into IOs plummeted. When I clicked and dragged one of my 50 IOs over a level 50 SO, the bonus to that attribute was a whopping 0.4%. . .
At that point, I went back to the market and cancelled all my recipe bids and I sold off whatever I had on me. -
Yes! Thank you! I was looking for that command! Now I can make my bind/macro to feed my Assault Bot tons of reds.
-
I didn't double check to see if this was posted yet, but as a Mastermind, you can drag and drop inspirations onto your pets or pet names to make them use them at their next opportunity.
-
Yeah, I should have mentioned that. I like the functionality of these forums more, but I really wish I knew Java script so I could write a greasemonkey script to make these forums look like the old ones.
-
Really? I liked the look of the old forums a lot more than the new ones.
-
I'm surprised this thread is still standing. So as a general tally, it seems like the majority of people do, in fact, use IOs?
-
Agreed with the OP. I hate repair. To top it off too, it's not instant. Many, MANY times, one of my bots would take a heavy hit from an enemy, and, in as quick a time span as I can, target that pet and hit the repair button, but because those little nanite robots have to actually travel FROM you TO the bot to heal them, the chances of the bot actually living to receive the heal is slim.
It'd be nice if Repair temporarily left the bot with a damage boost or something. -
What's this Enzyme business I'm hearing about?
-
Run a Bots/Traps MM.
Have them named:
Scraps 1.0
Scraps 2.0
Scraps 3.0
Bubble Bot 1.0
Bubble Bot 2.0
and B.O.B. (Which in my mind stands for Bionically Operated Bomber.)
-
No, seriously, I don't know what teams you play on, but I know that the vast majority of the times I play on teams, nobody pays attention to the story. More so you're talking about paper/radio missions. WHAT STORY?
-
Quote:I don't understand why you're criticizing his post though. He may have come off as harsh by slinging around the term Fanboy, but what he said is perfectly true.OP goes into a restaurant and orders a steak. Soon afterward, the waiter brings the steak and informs the OP that the steak is free. "Not only that, sir. But later I'll bring our a free slice of cake for you."
"Not good enough!" says the OP, shaking his tiny fist in the air. "I want my free cake now. Bring it out and put it on top of my steak!"
For those who are returning for the free weekend, it's underwhelming to find the game in the same condition as when you left. It's also true that since people that quit are (presumably) not going to be quite as optimistic, then what reason do they really have to go digging around for extra information on what's coming up?
More players means more money to the devs, which means better business and a better chance for more updates. I don't understand why so, SO many people in the CoH community are so unwilling to take criticism that, yes, we do in fact do things wrong from time to time. Fine, that's normal, but can we PLEASE learn from it? -
Quote:The problem I see though is that idea of making so MUCH of the game unnecessary, that it's easy to let tons of things just slip through the cracks. (Arena PvP, Ouroboros, Badges, certain TFs/SFs, etc etc)I respect your opinion on the issue of Day Jobs, but the flip-side to all your arguments is that no player is required to participate in them, like much of the content present in the game.
I'd actually prefer it if sometimes, the game made you stretch out of your comfort area and DO other things. (Contacts who give bonus missions to those with a certain amount of badges, or who have played in the arena for awhile). But don't hide those bonus missions, make it apparent, i.e. at an ordinary contact (not a hidden one) that you're getting missions from, occasionally have one grayed out with a red message saying something like "This mission requires you to have at least 3 history badges."
Edit: Also I think the notion that the community overall doesn't take the anti-dev (and anti-dev-supporter) comments has some merit. I was just casually browsing and saw this post. -
Oh, well then I guess I'm already well on my way.
That's basically exactly what I have now. -
Oh, well at least I know it's bugged now. I was wondering why with 3 Dmg SOs in it, it still didn't do a whole lot. If that's the case, and if it's been broken for so long, I'll probably just 'spec out of it. Save a power slot for something else.
-
I've been thinking about respecing my main villain to try and make a really good build, but I'm not really sure where to start. I've heard that Bots/Traps, if played right, can be incredibly powerful, but I don't know if you would neccesarily call my current build that.
So, any suggestions? -
I like the update.
I do have one request though, St0n3y. Is there any way you can make Mastermind -> Traps -> Detonator show the damage it does? It technically "grants" the bomb ability to a minion, and there's no way to show the hard numbers OF the bomb ability. -
Honestly, this double XP weekend has felt kind of uneventful for me because I have patrol XP on all my characters almost all the time, so I'm sort of in constant double XP.
-
I think it's odd that some players find to to be a hassle to replace SOs. I mean, I guess I just level slowly, but I feel like that once I'm in my mid-late 30s, I'm only switching them out every couple weeks.
-
I know when I9 rolled out and brought inventions, I was excited, but yet, I never got into to them. It might be because at the time, all I had was my 2 high level mains and because I didn't feel like remaking their builds to use IOs. I have this feeling where if I use them, I want to go through from the beginning with a new character and work my way up to using them, but that just hasn't happened.
To this day, I still can't get into them. It seems to take an exorbitant amount of time to make any sort of headway on buying the salvage for a decent IO set, to get a recipe at a decent price, and after all that to make sure that I have enough left over Inf to actually MAKE the stupid thing. And after all that, I feel like the bonuses just aren't worth it.
In fact, I don't even craft normal IOs for the same reasons basically.
Am I weird? I know I can't be the only one who's perfectly content to just slot out SOs. (My idea of progress is to just make all my SOs level 50++ using the ancient enhancement fusing system that no one ever touches anymore.) -
Quote:*snort* Yeah, ok, number cruncher. I don't use IOs or play this game for uber builds. I look for what's good enough. so I guess I will take it. Sounds like there's no definite yes or no on whether it hurts aggro or not, so I'll assume if it does, it's relatively negligible. You do realize you are saying this to someone who soft-capped a fire tank, then dropped the soft-cap build for one that focused on recharge accuracy because of constant cascading failures?
Sorry, but you are going to have to come up with a much better response than this to counter what I said.
CoD is worthless as a stealth. It's worthless as a defense power. In a fight it's not going to do you any real amount of good. Period. Stop. End of story.
