Quote:I don't mean any offense by this, but I'm wondering what other MMOs have you played. By no means is CoH horrible in listening to it's community, but it's not near the best in my experience. For awhile, I played EVE online. It wasn't my favorite MMO, but holycowomahgawd they listen to their playerbase. And I mean, they take it to the extreme. The players elect a small group of players to visit the CCP headquarters to talk to the developers in person. THAT is listening to the community. Both of these are true in terms of differentiating CoH from the average MMO. CoH has more comic book in it than most MMOs, and the developers of CoH listen to and communicate with the players more than those of most MMOs. (And as a result, I'm pretty sure they have more desk-induced forehead bruises than the developers of most MMOs.)

Too much influence
turns the poor heroes into
your haiku puppets.
Edit: Had to check my handle. It's @Street Wolf -
Very nice. Time to start digging for clues.
One thing that worries me is in the last scene, I saw a bunch of vertical lines in the background. Please tell me there aren't going to be warwalls in Praetoria as well.
Edit: Ok, went through and made a little gallery of notable things:

Quote:Are you. . . . implying something?Maybe ethically, but financially it is a great idea.
I don't plan to share it, but there is absolutely nothing they can do if I email it to someone as it was placed on a public host. And I mean that literally, not figuratively
It's like if you uploaded nude pics of yourself onto imageshack, rethought it and pulled them down shortly after. You can ask nicely that the people who grabbed them while they were up don't share them, but there is absolutely nothing other than good will preventing it. -
Honestly, I'm not worried about the dawn of an era of "soulbound" items because these bonus enhancements have a legitimate reason to be untradeable: you get them when creating a new character.'
If they were tradeable, one could (for whatever reason) make a bunch of alts to generate a lot of them. (To be fair, even if you COULD do this, it's hardly a big deal given the general worthlessness of these special enhancements past level 20) -

Does time have BotZ slotted in its Fly?

I just started out a new Soldier for the first time, and the first thing I noticed is, for whatever reason, I can run around while I use Single Shot and Burst. Is this a feature of the powers? Or is it just a bug? Honestly, I like it. It makes the fighting feel a bit more dynamic.

Given how often they get robbed, it seems reasonable that the citizens of Paragon City would need to frequent the grocery store to make up for all the lost groceries.

I'm a fan of Atlas Park destroyed for a sort of gritty end to a story arc.
At one point, I had a Villain-oriented story where you go out to destory the world, and ultimately succeed. The last mission put you into the destroyed Atlas Park map to "admire your work". You would simply walk through and collect some glowies of various rubble and such. The only enemies were a custom group I called "Survivors". They were just plain clothes civilians with few to no powers. (I already sense Golden Girl wincing at this.)

I have a huge problem with deleting my toons too early. I judge them before they're even level 14, and I end up deleting the vast majority of the characters I make.
I think the problem is I don't have the patience to put 10+ hours into a character to THEN decide if I like the character or not. -
I'm not much of a macro guy, but I love binds.
If it hasn't been said already:
/bind lbutton+shift "powexecname Teleport"
This is a great tool for point-n-click teleporting. Just hold shift and point where you want to go. Alternativley. . .
/bind lbutton+shift "petcom_all goto"
The exact same bind! Only this time, I use the petcom command "Goto". Now you can do the same point and click for where pets go. I use this (combined with /bind rbutton+shift "petcom_all follow defensive") for easy switching between pets following me in bodyguard mode, and attacking my enemies.
EDIT: OH! I almost forgot, make sure to check out THIS GUIDE if you want to get really fancy with macros. -
Here's what I got:
I tried to work with the metal costume pieces since you wanted a metallic look. I dunno if the metallic sheen goes away with any sort of stealth power or not (I'd imagine it would). I tried to cover up the bold lines on the metallic pieces with the Cellular overlay.
I think if you're looking for a gooey look, the best you can work with is to mess with the sliders. I have the chest, shoulders, legs and waist all maxed and the physique slider is about a quarter of the way in. -
You forgot a [/url] after the the code there Sam.
Edit: After reading this, I'll see what I can do. TO THE COSTUME CREATOR! -
I feel the opposite. I delete ALL my temp powers because it bugs me in an OCD way to see a huge list of powers that I never use. :P
Edit: After reading a bit in the thread though, I was reminded that there is one kind of temp power I save, and that's summons. I love controlling an army of minions. -
Well maybe I'm too used to steam, where periodically, you'll get a strange bug that displays one of your games was updated when there was not a patch.

Mine just did. Any word on this? Patch notes, perhaps?

Holy crap, Melan. Your +rep to my post gave me like a bajillion green rectangles.
But yes, I'm hoping I get to team with my new friends more often. I usually solo, and I get bored of soloing by about level 7 or 8. Since I got my new alt to 11, I'm finally dabbling into crafting IOs. I was able to get my 50 to craft a few level 10 sets dirt cheap. -
It all started about 3 hours ago; I'd rolled up a new alt; a controller for a change. I went with Ice/Storm because I liked the synergy of cold powers between the two sets.
I start my character off in Atlas, and like usual, I hunt a couple levels. Within 10-15 minutes, I was level 3, and I was about to start up a sewer team when someone beat me to the punch, so I ended up joining her team.
There was 8 of us, 1 Tanker, 1 Scrapper, 1 Defender, and 5 Controllers (including me.)Right off the bat, things looked fun.
Things start smoothly and like normal. Early on, we had one or two KOs, but we got each other back on their feet quickly and kept chugging along. With 5 controllers, we had a heckuva lot of statues instead of enemies.
Level 4, level 5, level 6, ding, ding ding. Everyone was leveling, and we were having fun. Before long, we were all getting friendly and started talking more (as opposed to that normal PUG silence). We were laughing and making jokes, and soon enough, we had hit the bottom of the sewers. This is where most sewer teams I've ever been on, scratch that, ALL sewer teams I've ever been on, have stopped, called it a day and everyone would run off to get themselves killed and take the pain train back to AP.
But this group was different, 7 of us stayed and decided we'd keep pushing on. Instead of going without a goal, we set our sites on Boomtown. I figured it was just to give us a common direction to go. I never thought we'd reach the Boomtown gate without a team wipe or a few quits.
Still we chugged along, lots of holds, lots of kills and lots of laughs. We were getting closer, the marker's number kept shrinking. .75 mi, .60 mi, .50 mi, 800 yds., 750 yds. We never got lost, and we were burning through the mobs. At this point, I was about level 9 or 10, which in it's own right was a personal best for one sewer run.
A scary moment came; it was the middle of a fight, things were going along like normal. We had drawn aggro from two mobs on accident, and I said "It's ok. We won't die. 8)". Not 3 seconds after saying that, everything stopped. I think my heart actually skipped a beat, and a few seconds later, the message I did NOT want to see showed up: "Lost Connection to Mapserver".
I was sad, like, legitimately sad. I didn't want to quit. I sat there a few minutes and just looked around at the action that was frozen in place (and not just the enemies I had frozen in place). I was about to write down the names of the characters I was teaming with so I could /friend them later when all of a sudden, the screen popped back to life!
Everyone had gotten it, but we were all there. (Sans the scrapper, but she got back on within a few seconds). We cheered and kept fighting hordes of Lost and Hellions. That Boomtown gate kept getting closer; 500 yds, 350 yds, and so on.
Eventually, we got to the last sewer ramp that lead up to the gate. We polished off the last mob standing by it and we all rushed up and out the gate.
This is where I knew something amazing had happened. I looked at my clock and it had been 2 hours since I'd started playing my alt. For me, to put 2 hours in on an alt that quickly means a lot. The 7 of us stood in Boomtown. We began to run north to get to some higher level enemies.
It's funny. I was level 11 when I got out of the sewers and into Boomtown. I didn't level once when we hunted in Boomtown. In all honesty, the spawns were absolute crap in Boomtown, but what made it worth it, that entire 2 hours, was seeing me and 6 new Global Friends running in a line through Boomtown, past fighting 5th Column and Council troops and Clockwork building who knows what. That made it worth it.
I sometimes worry this game is getting too complicated; between AE farms, IOs, playing the market, TFs, merits, Ouroboros, and so on and on and on, I thought that today's play session was a refreshing nuggest of nostalgia. No IOs, no missions or contacts and no mission bonuses. Nothing except some straight-up group hunting, and I had the most fun in CoH that I've had in a long, LONG time.
tl;dr, I'm not making a tl;dr, go and read it for 5 minutes. -
Marauder is almost 8 feet tall but only 320 pounds? Maybe it's just me, but if you're THAT tall and THAT ripped, wouldn't you be more in the ballpark of 500 pounds? If he was 320 pounds like it says, he'd be kinda slim.

Thanks for the builds everyone.
I think I might try out Kiowi's because I'm a fan of fitness stacked with physical perfection. (My main has those AND is a /regen scrapper.)
-
I've decided I want to finally give IOs a shot, but I've had a lot of trouble trying to get my 50 to use any. I think the only way I'll ever get into them is if I start a new main from the ground up with IOs in mind
I've decided I want to roll a DM/SR scrapper (with the idea in mind that the -ToHit from DM and the defense from SR will work with each other making me incredibly tough to hit).
The problem is when I load up Mid's I'm completely overwhelmed by the HUGE choice of sets to pick for my powers, so I was wondering if I could get some help from the more IO-experienced crowd on what to pick.
All I really want out of the build in particular is to not be strapped for endurance because if there's one thing I haaaate is running out of endurance.
Otherwise, cost isn't a matter, (Trust me, I've had nothing to spend my inf on for the past 3 years!) so if you're an idealist, go crazy.
Thanks a lot to anyone who helps me out, I appreciate it.
