Quote:What he said, and a Mezz protection click, like Psi Mastery's Indomitable Will.
What types of abilities would benefit a tri-form Warshade?
And no, I don't mean things like "toggle suppression" or "knockdown." I mean regular powers like melt armor, mez protection toggle, slow auras, ect..
-Thanks for any info you guys can provide! -
Not to mention the requirement of having to reaffirm your morality.

Last time I checked, the incarnate issue release didn't say:
Incarnates: Now you'll have 20% more fun!
You like it, or you don't. You use it, or you don't. It's just more content. -
-
Quote:Nitpick: Eclipse isn't a toggle. When Toxic was added to the game, certain defensive powers were given moderate-to-light Resistance to it. This was usually in the form of self-heals and godmodes, though Dark Armor and Warshades got consistent protection to it through toggle powers.
Interesting read. -
Quote:Haha, nice. I tried it myself, but I couldn't find that picture. However, on the 5th page of "City of Heroes kheldian triform" I did find this:I love how I look on google images for good pictures of dwarf and nova form...and find this on the second page...
There were also screenshots from Kheldian Fridays scattered from page 1 onwards. -
I'd imagine we have until March, at the current rate the SSA arcs are dropping, until States bites it. But yeah, count me in. (If you make it a master I'll bring Stone)
Edit: Ah, nevermind, I see they're killing him off in #5. Kinda early there, wow.
Edit#2: And thanks for spoiling it for me. >_> -
Quote:You do realize that us just throwing down our builds for you to see is basically just making/giving you a build, right? You can argue that it's not all you want, but any real difference would be semantics. What we are trying to do (fruitlessly, it seems) is give you recommendations/ideas without doing that. And frankly, it'd probably be pointless to throw our builds down for you, because mine (and probably New Dawns) has several sets of purples. Which is something you didn't want, according to your OP.
And I'm not asking for "make *ME* a build to play" ... I'm asking for "what do YOU (all) do in the builds you want to play?"
Apparently, no one else in this forum is inclined to "show their work" so that other people can benefit from their experiences (and not just myself).
Quote:As any Mids' Jockey who has tried to deal with the Slot Crunch of building a "decent" Tri-Form Peacebringer knows, the major challenge is figuring out what trade-offs you want to make. What powers are you going to give up on getting? What powers are going to be less than optimally slotted (ie. less than 6)? What Sets do you use? How is does the build exchange "power" in one area for "power" in another? And so on and so forth.
These questions can only be answered in a holistic sense by being able to examine and cross compare entire builds, so that you can see the trade-offs being made and the weighting of value for different aspects to different purposes ... because with a Tri-Form Peacebringer, you can't HAVE IT ALL in a single build. You have to "compromise" somewhere on something to get advantages in different areas.
I had hoped that by "offering to go first" we could have a discussion on "where do we go from here" with Tri-Form Peacebringer builds, what their advantages are, what sorts of variations are possible ... and so on. Apparently, I'm the only person on this board who has any interest in this topic. No one else is willing to engage in a discussion on this topic that involves a "show your work" aspect to it so that everyone can learn from shared experience.
So I'm giving up on it.

That THB makes some sweet kheldian builds
-
And if anyone tries to cut in line, I have holiday themed boom sticks. Just sayin'.
-
For what it's worth, I've actually tried this on one of the many respec's I've burned on my peacebringer. It wasn't for me.
I liked having all the slots I could possibly need for the forms/powers, but in the end it felt rather gimped, and had a bunch of wasted "utility" powers that either cluttered up my tray and/or were useless if I actually wanted to use it for some reason. YMMV. -
Quote:Perhaps you didn't quite understand what New Dawn was trying to say? Here, read this bit:While all that is true, it also means that no one else can learn from the cleverness and insights you've discovered in your build, can't take the lessons you've learned, chop them up piecemeal and make use of them in their own builds in new and different combinations, and so on. No one (else) can use your experiences to make their own builds better, or learn from what you already know.
And that's a shame, really.
Quote:With my builds they suit me, they're what I am happy with doing. Redlynne may just as well look at mine think "I couldn't play that". None of my builds are what I think other people should play at all, we should all derive our own conclusions to what we need, be challenged and hopefully overcome any challenges on our own merit.
I would suggest making a mental list of what you want to do with your build, and then work to make that list possible via Mids'. If you can't make it happen, you can either ask for help getting another pair of eyes on it, or you can readjust priorities/expectations. -
If your build works for you, far be it from any of us to tell you otherwise. For what it's worth, I think your first build would make a decent cheapie build, though I'd personally use something with more SL defense (and still have perma hasten/LF), if I could.

Quote:Wait what? When did this happen? Or did I just overlook it?
Edit: wait they're not inherit?Quote:Hero Epic Archetypes
Peacebringers- Combat Flight now correctly provides defense to all types of attacks.
- Luminous Blast
- Build Up has been renamed "Inner Light". It now grants a large damage and ToHit bonus for 10 seconds, and then a moderate damage and ToHit bonus for 20 seconds thereafter, for a total of 30 seconds of boosted damage.
- Photon Seekers cooldown has been reduced from 300 seconds to 180 seconds.
- Luminous Aura: Quantum Acceleration
- Added a new power available at level 24: Quantum Acceleration.
- Quantum Acceleration is similar to Afterburner.
- This allows Peacebringers to select this power if they wish.
- This power now provides a moderate amount of defense, improved flight control, and -fly protection, but has a 30 second cooldown once toggled off. This power can now accept Defense enhancements, IOs and Defense set IOs.
- This power will not allow the user to fly unless the user has a flight power active.
- This power's long help now clarifies that this power's flight protection is only granted while Combat Flight, Energy Flight, Quantum Flight or Group Energy Flight is active.
- Light Form has been redesigned. Its cooldown has been lowered from 1000 seconds to 300 seconds, but its duration has been reduced to 90 seconds to match that of Eclipse. The recovery bonus from the power and the status protection from the power have been moderately reduced to compensate for the drastic increase in uptime now possible. Additionally, Light Form now persists when activating White Dwarf or Bright Nova.
- White Dwarf now protects the player from status effects as soon as its animation begins, preventing the power from being interrupted.
- Solar Flare and White Dwarf Flare are now generated by the Peacebringer's hands instead of their feet, and can now be used while in midair.
Warshades- Umbral Aura: Shadow Slip
- Added a new power available at level 24: Shadow Slip
- Shadow Slip is similar to Long Range Teleportation.
- This allows Warshades to select this power if they wish.
- Black Dwarf now protects the player from status effects as soon as its animation begins, preventing the power from being interrupted.
- Shadow Cloak - This power now provides defense to all types of damage, rather than just positional defense.

There is a lack of high end (or if you prefer "state of the art") tri-form builds because high end builds make tri-form not just inefficient, but weaker than a human form would be. You are looking at the symptom of the latest round of buffs and thinking it's only choice, rather than practicality.
Softcap and perma LF is quite easy with the right sets...on a human form, anyways. Perhaps you just need to play with Mids' some more. -
Quote:Er, oops. In my defense, I was realllllly tired and was looking forward to only 6 hours of sleep until the next day's event startedSince I didn't see it anywhere in the thread...
I won the Iron Tailor. Not sure how...I would have voted for Globetrotter myself if I could have voted. o.o
I totally got some new ideas for costumes from the other contestants though! Thanks guys! -

Quote:No, see, we knew that the two ladies in that tf had been brainwashed (it was obvious from the way they wouldn't shut up during combat), so we just went about the most efficient way to make sure they get immediate medical attention.Funny, it sounds like Sept was actually the most heroic one on the Hero team.
So...which one is Stale? Terrance, or Phillip? -
Quote:We don't have the cash to do these constantly, but I can promise you a spot on the TF's we run (kheldian and otherwise) if you stick around.Just wanna extend my thanks to everyone who came out to make my first Kheldian Friday one of the most fun nights I've had in a long time.
Stone, Layla, AIB, I know I'm forgetting some, thank you guys so much!
Protector already feels like my second home. Keep up events like these and It might have to become permenant hehe.
There will be a small event in February for Layla's B-day, though. You heard it here first! -
Quote:Just stumbled on this thread at it looks like a fun idea!
Is there a standard meeting place to form up?Quote:There's really no standard meet up place, we usually coordinate in our Kheldian Fridays channel or Protector Vigilance. Usually someone will post in this thread ahead of time with what we'll be doing next, so just standing by the contact around start time (10 est) works too. -
We started off the day by splitting up--I ran a Synaptic Synpase with three other electric weilding heroes, and Layla ran a couple villain TFs.
After the Synapse was over, I put together an all mastermind ITF. It was, well, over the top. There were robots, zombies, and demons, oh my!
Afterwards, me and Layla joined forces yet again to run the Mortimer Kal together, with a dominator superteam...well, we would have, but we had two teams worth of people that wanted to join us! So, we split teams and ran it. My team finished in just under an hour, but unfortunately team #2 had problems with the AV's and called it quits after several tries. Sorry guys
Next up was Septipherans Pylon Challenge! First place winner went to Donovan Cosantoir (@Dr. Scrap), second place to Ms Halflight (@Black Leather Angel), and third to Warrior Adept (@Taunting Monk). Good job guys!
And lastly, we ran the Good vs. Evil Lady Grey Task Force! In a move that surprised nobody, Septipheran spend most of the TF being largely useless as an evil agent on behalf of Zaloopa. The villain teams technically finished faster than the hero side, but I maintain that the heroes won the contest because we called it in first. Also, heroes always win. Always.
I'm disappointed to add that nobody (save a late minute entry from @nodoze, whom I appreciate the efforts of) bothered to attempt the Scavenger Hunt, so it was canceled. We will instead put our minds toward an event that we consider more people will take part in sometime soon down the road.
I'd like to take this moment to thank @Black Leather Angel and @Stargeek again for their generous donations towards the event, and all of our event runners for helping bring a little something to this event (and giving us time to rest in between TF's and such). I hope you guys had a good weekend, I know I did. Happy holidays from Stone and Layla!

Quote:Xfire won't let me edit videos, and I don't have any video editing softwareCan you use your magical Stone powers to edit into 2 different videos? For those who weren't a part of it, myself, Stone, AIB, and Dechs took on a 54x8 patrol-loaded mission complete with a level 54 AV Bobcat. It was pretty epic.
