Have you been Naughty or Nice?

It's that time again folks. Starting on Friday of December 2nd, Layla and I will be again hosting a weekend of events. This time we have some help, and may have some late minute entries as well, so please keep your eye on this thread. Also, please keep in mind most of our rewards are still placeholders for the final rewards. They will not lower by the time the event starts, but will likely raise on some events. Donations are appreciated. If you have any events you would like to run as part of Naughty or Nice, please PM me. Without further ado:

Friday, 12/2/11 All times are Eastern.

9pm--Intro to Iron Tailor

This will be a prequel to an event on Saturday. It will form in Atlas, and will be a costume contest. There will be five winners, and those winners will not only receive influence rewards, but they will be requested to appear at the event on Saturday to take part in that as well. (If you can't join in the event Saturday, please let us know before we start judging.) There is no theme to the CC, it is simply to see your costuming skills.

1st place: 250 million influence
2nd place: 200 million influence
3rd place: 150 million influence
4th place: 100 million influence
5th place: 50 million influence

10pm--Kheldian Fridays! Special Edition

Bring your naughty or nice Kheldian themed costume, winner gets 100 million inf. Only those participating in Kheldian Fridays may apply. This week will be the Weekly Strike Target, the 2nd Respec Trial. Minimum level is 34.

Approximately 11pm--One life to Live (Beneath the Shadow of the Shade)

Immediately after "Kheldian Fridays! Special Edition" AIB will lead a team of 7 others on 3 consecutive +4 x8 farming missions.

The goal is twofold...

1. Do not die
2. Destroy the enemies

If defeated participant(s) will be kicked from the team. Awards will be given to all; whether they "thrive" or "take a nose dive."

Saturday, 12/3/11

11am--It's a dark day in Paragon...

Positron TF's 1 & 2. There will be a costume contest after part 1, the theme is darkness. Not to be confused with evil, necessarily. One winner, prize is 100 million inf.

12pm--It Takes Two to Tango

Ouroboros Task Forces Duo Run

  • Mender Lazarus
  • Twilight's Son (Heroes Only)
  • Mender Tesseract (Villains Only)
  • Mender Silos
PRIZES (could be expanded before the event) - For each side:
  • Winning duo: 200M inf each (400M per team, 800M total)
  • Runners up: 50M inf each (100M per team, 200M total)
Screencaps preferred to show fastest times for each TF / SF run. Fastest overall time wins. Hosted by Stalemate

1pm--Hamidon Raid

Led by MissKyo! Don't forget to bring your spoon!

3pm--Master of Keyes Trial

Led by Septipheran, of Septipheran's Saturday Shenanigans, we will be running a MoKeyes trial in an attempt to get all those pesky, annoying badges. Please note that this run will be SIGN UP ONLY. If you wish to join, please either PM one of us, or post on the thread your intent to join. Our rationale behind this is to ensure that all of our members are aware of our strategy and know what they are doing. Please peruse his thread, and badge strategy guides on the forums (if you don't already know them well) and let us know if you are interested.

5pm--All Kheld Lambda

Your favorite aliens on Kheldian Fridays! will be hosting an all kheld Lambda trial. So if you're a regular at KFs, make sure you work extra hard on your kheld so you can join us in our attempt at glory and fame!

6pm--Iron Tailor Costume Contest

Come to atlas and watch as 5 players compete against Layla's champion. Who has the best costume skills? Each contestant has to show 5 costumes. The audience will judge by standing by the player they think was the best. The player with the most people on their side wins a Layla doll with a drawing of their favorite character by the talented Yoko. As incentive to get a large judging pool, we will be giving random prizes to the audience.

7pm--Blue side Cathedral of Pain

Are you ready for another helping of pain? Well then, meet us in Atlas after the Iron Tailor event for another run! Incidently, for those of you who ran this with us last time, you may or may not remember my SG base. Well, it has been remodeled by Layla herself! So this will be something of a grand reopening. I hope you guys like it, because I sure do.

9pm--Illusion Superteam!

I would prefer to make this an illusion/radiation superteam, but will take any illusionist. We will run the STF--maybe make it a master run.

11pm--Medic!

Four blasters, four defenders, one ITF. Each blaster and defender pair up, and keep eachother alive. If any of the pair dies, you both lose. Surviving pairs get 100 million influence per player.

Note that purposely hanging back for the rest of the team to fight so that you don't die will get you disqualified after one warning. I know most people wouldn't do this, but I figure I might as well say it now. When we begin forming for this event, it would behoove anyone looking to join to bring their own partner. Layla will obviously be mine, but if you come alone, you risk the consequences of having to take whoever shows up.
Edit: Rewards on this event were doubled, from 50 million. ^^

Sunday, 12/4/11

10am--Synaptic Synapse Superteam

Synapse TF, 15+, only characters with electric and/or super reflexes powersets.

10am--Learning to be naughty with Layla

Starting at 10am, Layla will begin running through as many redside SF's as she can to teach people the proper path to the dark side of the force.

12pm--All Mastermind ITF

Level 35+. All masterminds. This will be fun.

3pm--All dominator Mortimer Kal

Level 20+. I will accept controllers if I fail to fill with dominators.

5pm--Septipheran's Pylon Challenge!

Who can kill a pylon the fastest on Protector? Open to Scrappers only, 1st place is 1 billion inf, 2nd place is 700 million, 3rd place is 300 million inf. Event entries will be overseen by Septipheran while on team, to ensure fairness. More rules are found here.

8pm--Good vs Evil Lady Grey Task Force!

Myself and Layla vs Zaloopa and crew will race to see which side will triumph! Heroes and vigilantes will join us, championing for the side of right, and villains and rogues will join Zaloopa in a super special edition of Strike Force Sunday.

Special week long event!

Throughout the weekend, there will be a special ongoing event called the Naughty or Nice Scavenger Hunt. The goal is to hunt down certain themes, take screenshots of them, and post them in this thread. Here is the list, so that you may start working on them--but be warned! If you post them too early or late, they will not count. You do not have to post a picture for every theme we give, but those who post more have more chances to win. I just had an awesome idea for an event! Just have to decide how to best implement it...

This is now added to the calendar, since Stone apparently forgot he can edit it himself.

Also, I did have an idea in mind for an event, but there is nowhere to really fit it in without competing with anyone and matching my personal schedule, so I would be available most of Saturday to help out with anything that needs it. I'll save the other idea for a later date.

I didn't forget, I just don't see the need to have multiple calendars/schedules to edit until we get closer to the date, since I anticipate some late entries.

Speaking of which, Stale, that was kind of what we were going for. We want lots of different things going on. Though, if need be we can shift some stuff around if you're worried about attendance.

Edit: As a matter of fact, I see an event that needs removing, as me and Layla apparently accidently ran it this last weekend. So, I am removing the fire themed Sister Psyche that takes place at 1pm.

Dumb question. If you get knocked down but have a self-res, are you truly defeated?

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

Actually, that's a very good question. I'm hesitant to allow Rise of the Phoenix to be a loophole, because that opens the doors for people who bring empaths/etc to argue that their rez shouldn't count as that player being defeated, too.

I'm going to have to say it still counts as a defeat, because if I allowed it, anyone with a high recharge build could die as often as they liked. And if I only allowed one "save" of that nature, I would have to keep track of how many times a person has died. Not to mention, defenders get a self rez too.

I'd welcome any arguements on how it could work, though.

I'm still trying to decide what the prize(s) will be.
Can I slot that in at noon on Sat, or was there a specific time you wanted to start?

I seem to have neglected mentioning it in the initial post (which I will correct shortly), but I want to warn anyone planning on which events to attend and ignore one thing:

These rewards are placeholders. In most cases*, they will be raised. So if you're looking at the Medic event and are thinking "Meh, too much work for too little reward," you are writing it out too early. I was also intentionally vague on the Scavenger hunt rewards, but I guarantee that I will try to make the rewards worthy of the time you would have to spend to win.

Granted, my hope is that rewards isn't what people are attending these events for, but I acknowledge that incentive has it's uses.

*Only the events that are hosted by myself or Layla are the ones likely to get raised. Any others are most likely set in stone, unless the reward hasn't been posted yet.

What's the deal with the villain Ouro TF's? Allowed or disallowed?

Also, if we solo them, do we get our times automatically divided by two?

Nice try.

After careful analysis and consultation, and by careful analysis and consultation I mean guesstimating, villains and heroes will be valued separately - unless there aren't enough participants.

So "yes".

Still trying to figure out what to do for prizes for this, but it'll come to me.

Have you considered "free hand shakes from Septipheran" as the grand prize? I give a mean hand shake.

I had planned on adding a Street Justice event to the calendar, but upon further reflection, I do not think I will make it an official event. I may run it on Sunday in the afternoon if I get enough interested parties, though.

Sounds like a lot of fun!

You pay to play. Having fun is ok. Kill Skuls or kill Crey. Hunt at night or in the day. Black or white or shades of grey. Play it your way. We have no say.

I will update the prizes as I get a chance to, but I think people will be happy to see that the rewards on the bigger events were raised considerably. However, there are also certain prizes that are entirely dependent on participation and turnout. Specifically, the scavenger hunt. If all goes as planned, people who take part in it will be rewarded well. If we only get a couple people who half-*** it, well, the prizes won't be as awesome. I know that there is one person* out there already collecting items on the list, though, so I have hope.

I should probably take this moment to go more in depth into the scavenger hunt. Basically, the more items on the list you collect, the better your score will be. Each picture you obtain will be graded a number of points (1-5) for how well it was done, with 1 being the equivalent of writing your name on a blank test sheet, and 5 being "Wow, that is impressive." We add up all the points from everything you manage to get, and the winners have the highest number of points. There will also perhaps be a couple honorary winners, who perhaps didn't take a 1st-3rd place, but managed to get a single picture that we really enjoyed. Those winners will get a rare IO, such as a LotG: +recharge or the like. Also, if you plan on going for the #10's on the list, know this: If we know you're doing whatever you're doing just to make the list requirement, you will probably get a 1 or 2. If you manage to sneak it by us, you get a much higher score.

Also, in regards to our Medic! event...it has been decided that any surviving pairs will split the losers rewards. So, for example, say 2 pairs of people survive out of the whole team. Those pairs will get the money that the other teams failed to win.

*You know who you are.
