Me, either. I guess from reading through this thread that he is introduced in a villain arc somewhere, but since I only play blue-side, I have no clue really why he popped up, or why I should care.

As for the arc, the final EB was too much for my Elec/Emp Corruptor to defeat solo, so I had to drop the arc and restart with a team to finish it. Annoying!

Of course, he was very easy with my Fire/Shield scrapper!

    - the Taunt aura is tied to the mez, I don't care but some people do.
    - the heal comes way too late
    - like SR, basically non existent resists, all defense

    Positives:
    - extremely easy to soft cap, you can do it to s/l/e/f/c at 24 with a +3 steadfast and some cheap seats (I'll post a datachunk below)
    - unlimited endurance after 28 with defense bonuses when you use Energy Drain
    - good taunt aura with a recharge bonus per foe
    - stealth that doesn't llower defense when in combat
    - if you like godmodes Overload is great because it gives +maxhp - I prefer Elec Armor's godmode but I find them the best ones since I have no problems handling crashes (just wished it left you with like 5 end so you didn't detoggle).
    - with the recharge bonus and lots of places for lotgs, you can build a lot of recharge along with capped defs, even cap negative later. And you'll end up with some ranged defense (20-25% maybe) to cover most psionics.
    - the passives now have some resist to slow and end drain

(maybe I forgot something, so somebody add it if so)

Btw WM/EA is a great combo, as is Stone/EA, a primary with lots of mitigation really helps defensive sets. Both of those combos will be hard on the blue bar before Energize, but nothing compared to my Stone/Elec who leveled before Energize existed and Power Sink comes only at 35.

So here's a skeleton that caps s/l/e/f/c with three pieces of Aegis and 3 sets of Smashing Haymakers plus a Steadfast:

Well, that's an interesting build, and impressive that you can cap so early, but, according to Mids, the End Recovery is 2.08/sec and the drain from all the toggles is 2.06/sec, so you will basically use up all of your end on the first attack chain, and then won't be able to recover any!

    KM/EA build help

Thanks for the feedback. I see that I made a couple of EA 'noob' blunders in my original build. Still not sure how to get more slots into Energy Drain w/o gimping something else, but the main error was omitting Energy Cloak. I figured I would use a Celerity +Stealth in Superspeed to get the cloaking w/o a power choice. I didn't realize that Energy Cloaking has a huge +Def component to it. My new build is capped to S/L/E/F/C, and has almost 70% recharge.

  5. I'd like to see Propel have an AOE aspect to it. It is just silly that you can hurl a car at a bunch of mobs and only hit one of them!

Me, too! Although I don't post so much, I have been registered on the forums since 2004, and the title "Rookie" irks me.
  7. Thanks to the Mids team! You guys rock!
  8. I just took my first character through First Ward, and, while I thoroughly enjoyed playing through the arcs, also was left with a "Huh? That's it?" feeling at the end. I'm hoping for some level 30-39 content in the future to continue on with the story.
  9. Does anyone know why Fire Melee's Breath of Fire attack doesn't have the same alternate animation choice as Blaster Fire Blast's Fire Breath attack? Is this simply a gap, or has some justification been put forth as to why this couldn't/shouldn't be done?

Spewing flames from the mouth just doesn't work with a tech-themed character!

    Thanks

    Fire/SD question

Why the two Hami-O's in Active Defense? I don't think the Defense or ToHit aspects of the Hami-O's you slotted have any effect in that power. Seems like a much less expensive solution would be to use two Recharge IO's.
  11. So, if, as the OP said (also shown on Paragon Wiki) the base regen gives 5% every 12 seconds for players, then a character with, say, 300% regen (per Mids) would have his regen clock tick 3X faster, or every 4 seconds?

    Thanks

    Ma/sr

I agree that MA/SR rocks! I've had a lot of fun on mine.

I've never purpled-out a character, and was wondering if it is really worth it. How much did this build cost?! How much do you gain over a well-IO'd build without purples?

My only other feedback is that I slotted Cobra Strike for Damage, and Crane Kick for Knockback, with a set of Kinetic Crashes. I love using Crane Kick for the final blow, knocking the mob all the way across the room as he is defeated (or even better punting him off a bridge or other high place!)
  13. Thanks for suffering through this one and posting the summary. I never would have made it through all the tangents and fluff.
  14. When I had to stop on Sunday, I had progressed my MA/SR scrapper from 45 to 49. I was pleasantly surprised to find 2XP still on yesterday, and got him over the line to 50.

I have two problems with the Roy Cooling arc:

    1. If you came from Praetoria, you got a big song and dance when leaving about how the PPD are the good guys in Primal. Then, you arrive in Primal, and Roy is the contact that shows up on your compass, so you go to him, and immediately run into dirty cops. Not exactly inspiring for an exPraetorian over the choice to come help out Primal.

    2. Hitting this arc at Lvl 20 or 21, and then having two EB's at the end is, in my opinion, too much for a charater with only 8 insp slots. My tray is usually empty by the time I'm done with Castillo. (Yeah, I could exit and go get more, but what a hassle)
  19. The Katie Douglas arc (Seer 1381) changed the way I think about Seers. (They're still really creepy, but I have compassion for them that they may well be conscripted into Seer-dom against their will)

    Elec/Pain?

I am going for full power blasts and good heals, with capped range defense. End Drain is not a priority at all for me. The approach here is to do everything from range.

    Elec/Pain?

So, I went ahead and started this character, up to level 16 now - so far so good. Here is the build that I am marching towards, it gets to the Def softcap for Range. I wonder, though, if I am underslotting some of the Pain Dom powers. Most just have one slot. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Elec/Pain?

I am about to start up a new character, who, for backstory reasons, will have Healing/buffing and Elec blasts. I have always played hero characters until now, and was going to make an Empathy/Elec Defender, but now am considering doing an Elec/Pain Corruptor instead.

Anyone have experience with this configuration? How well did it work out? Given this is more of a concept build, I don't need it to be the uberest, but I don't want it to be terrible, either.

What (if any) are the downsides to rolling a Corruptor instead of a Defender? This character will start in Praetoria, so the early mission content will be the same, regardless.

    Thanks!
  24. Interesting... the one I tried was crafted from a Jet pack recipe. I guess this means there are different Jet packs?
