Is it more benficial overall to slot res or health in one withthe shield?
My build cant slot both...i need to 5 slot it to get the recharge for my attack chain to work. -
-
I'm trying to be a little more effcient against AV's than just mashing buttons...whats the best attack chain for a tanker with DM?
I'm a little confused by the best chain because of bruising compared to other AT's.
but My thoughts are that to lead with Shadow punch, I have 4 Tank ATO's and a Mako's proc and the other proc...wha tis it touch of death or something?
Then Chain SL, MG, Gloom SL MG Gloom.
SO it would be SP, SL, MG, GL, SL, (.11 second gap), MG, GL, repeat.
I think that gets the bruising on most of the chain and allows me to use the higher damage attacks, I have SL slotted for damage and have the Tanker Proc in it. Gloom will be slotted with the purple set (haven't made it red side yet, currently using fire) and hetacomb is in MG. I have about 195 global recharge i think...in my final build...I'm not quite there yet with all the IO's.
Any advice on a better chain? I really like using SL as an attack with an added heal so would rather have that than Smite in the chain....currently I don't even have smite in my final build...but I do right now. -
+ 1 in favor of dark armor here...love it. Fun active set. Can be very powerful. Great against psi! Yes please....and you don't die.... Just fall down Rez and keep on going!!! I absolutely love that!
End usage can be a pain at times...but you can also actively mange your toggles.
Spines /dark can be especially end heavy with 2 damage toggles needs to be taken into account(I have a 50 spines /dark scrapper. My 2nd 50 ever) -
Quote:Thanks, but if you look at the build again, and my build goals...I have Scorpion shield and power boost...with it I'm capped to S/L.I really don't think perma Chrono is that big of a deal. If you are going to focus on blasting yourself, you should get a bit more +defense from set bonuses than +damage. +damage on MM (with the lowest damage scale AT) isn't going to make a big difference. You can try to get Negative damage proc in all 3 attacks to make them better.
An easy way to get good defense is Black Scorpian's Power Boost with Farsighted.
With a Power boost and Farsighted, I'm at ~40 Defense to all while capped S/L defense. My pets have very good defense as well. Power boost is up every 28seconds. So I could be softcapped to all for alphas approximately 1/2 the time. or 15 out of every 30 seconds...that plus Defensive stance, and my pets defense and heals, for alot of PVE content I'm in good shape.
I know Min/max wise, +DAM doesn't make sense....but these are the parameters I'm trying to build this character under.
I've actually noticed looking at the build again, I hadn't boosted any enhancements, that gets me to perma Chrono.
Keeping my....arbitrary parameters I'm building around in mind...I'd love it if anyone could see any way to further improve the build. I'd love more Procs in my personal attacks, but again...don't want to loose recharge.
I know...its not the typical MM build...but I've got a few of those...Doing this for fun, I'd love to figure a way to get slowed response in the build...again, without really loosing +dam or +rech....but I'd rather give up +Dam.
Thanks.
-StarSeven -
I know with these retrictions placed on this character he won't be the most effective....but its how I'm playing him...I NEVER take personal attacks on MM's or at least not all three, and I never build for +DAM or really for +rech either...but that's who this guy is.....
What I want from this character:
-I am taking all his personal attacks
-as high of +Dam as I can get for the MM
-enough +rech to perma Chrono
Within these limits, I'd like to max out his effectiveness. Current Problem with build.
- Just missing Perma Chrono,
- I'd like to fit Slowed response in the build but not sure what to drop.
- squeeze in any more damage?
I have the INF, cost is not a restriction, I'm not to 50 yet, I think I'm at 42 ATM...This is not the build I've leveled with, I've been playing around with it so much the slots and levels are all messed up....but not looking to build for exemping.
Thoughts?
Try to mix around the slots in Grave and Soul extraction to get +3% Dam and 6.25 rech from Soulbound?
What to drop for Slowed response? without loosing +rech or damage?
Probably have to loose a Defensive power, but I can't figure out what to drop and get Chrono Perma, I loose a LOTG +RECH....
Thanks for any help!!!
EDIT: Other things I'm looking at include Boxing/tough/weave....can be removed to benefit? Move slots from Scorpion shield to Farsight to get 5% +rech, and 2% Dam with Red Fort, willing to move any of the 6th slots out of personal attacks if needed elsewhere.

Whoa....and that's consistant how?
I assume it has to do with the toxic res? But wow i was assuming it worked in healing flames and reconstruction....that suprised me.
Thanks...but now that im curious about other heals....if its unresistable on city of data it wont apply? -
Do the set bonuses x.x% Enhancement(Heal) effect the Max hit point of powers like High Pain Tolerance?
Simple question but I'm not 100% clear.
Thanks! -
Thinking of the same combo....i see nothing wrong with it....and incandecent strike....rarley bother me on my PB very long animation as well.
-
Can it go the other way? What about a minimizer? I can see plenty use for that, and then I can boost it!
-
I've just recently gotten into stalkers. I'm not the most knowledgeable, but having recently play a few to the 30's 40's and 50 I've got some experience. So, I'm not going to talk about Min/Max and Incarnate stuff....that might be what you're looking for but for a different perspective(all personal, and built around "fun" not "uber")
Primary...
Kin Melee - FUN! Get the Stalker ATO asap, and put it in assasin strike, I love the feeling of getting a build up constantly. It's an overly active primary since you get addicted to getting that build up back instantly. Good burst damage...not amazing, but you roll along as long as you can find something to hit...This was my first stalker to 50...Kin/Ice I loved every second of him....I feel like I play him a little more like a brute...he just alwasy wants to keep on going...
Staff- leveling one up now, you don't want it so real quick...I like it alot, gets going at a real early level...but I think peaks early then fades a bit. If you're going to roll staff go for one of the AT's that really gets to use all the mechanics and AOE...
STJ - OMG!!!!! Big orange numbers! but really you're just spending the low levels waiting for CU. If you take awhile to get to 32, and are impatient pick something else
Dark Melee- good ST damge = YES, added mitigation -ACC = YES, self heal for SR or any other 2ndary = yes, annoying annimation in shadow maul = (personal preference) 3.3 seconds long!
ELM - stalker is stuck at lowbie right now....I've read good things...but I'm waiting for the fun...
Claws - meh for me on stalkers...this is a brute/scrapper set for me.
BS- havent used on stalker
EM - I've got a proc'd out build but haven't started to level him yet...I'd like the return of pom poms though...
Dual blades - I've got 2 swords! I like this guy just for that! for me...this doesn't feel like the most powerfuil stalker, but I'm hoping to get him to 50 and IO him out...I see the potential
NB - low levels still...
I'd say Kin, STJ, Dark....are the most fun...ELM will have the AOE goodness...those are my top 4. (all personal opinion again)
Kin melee is fun though!!!
2ndary
Tend to do better still with the defensive 2ndaries.
However, low level I like both regen and Willpower. Regen is very clicky though...but its alot of fun for me. Willpower you get a heal very early and good S/L resistance.
All stalkers can solo...and they can all do well on PUGs, depends on who you get for support toons...
I tend to play with a tray of purples...and not worry about softcap on my way leveling up...Purples last 60 seconds....greens last about 5 seconds if you're getting hammered on...
Nin - gets you a heal, status protection, and very good defense by level 20. What more can you ask for, and it only takes 4 powers and 2 purples to softcap you from level 20 on...with a self heal! The utility stacks on that.
Ice - I'm loving my /Ice at 50! takes a long time to get energy def...and I take all the powers...but very solid mitigation for you and your team(chilling embrace) Big Psi hole, but you do have hoarfrost...and you'll have it perma if you're smart!
Dark - I love dark, its not the easiest set to play...I have 3 scrappers at 50, 2 brutes, a tank and a stalker on his way up .... Great heal, so many different way to build it, but you can get high + rech, softcaped S/L/E/N, or close to M/R/AOE(while hidden, with ninja blade). self rez, and OG is just fun on melee toons. stalker build isn't IO'd out yet, but he will be good + rech and softcapped, with great resists and a great heal!. Endurance can be an issue...but isn't it always....
Elec - dont know
EA - Very good set, VERY big PSI hole... Energize is awesome!
SR - Never been a fan...its all 1 thing... does it very good, but since I like to carry purples...never gotten into this set.
WP - Have 1 at 50, he's fun, t9 doesn't crash you I think this is a great pairing for staff. since stalkers get the +res it stacks nicely and for me purples are still useful.
Like I said....not min max....Kin melee is fun, Nin is fun ice is fun....
My newest stalker is a "DUNE" character named Holtzman effect...He's a shield fighter (Ice armor tinted as yellow as possible WHY IS THERE NO YELLOW ICE!) with a staff instead of a knife....He's got a still suit on (that rebreather thing where they drink their own pee and sweat)...I really like him for his story...I think I'm up to 25 with him....I don't think anyone's realized he's a Dune character yet though....
Fun times....back to work.... -
Man!...You Sig freaked me out!....Thought I had bugs running up my screen for 1/2 a second!
-
There's also this, if I feel like getting Mu, which I think I like better.

Ok, So I've been running alot of AE missions for tickets....I have a build on my SS/Fire that's focused completely around +Recharge, and it was pretty expensive. I haven't used my second build on this character and was thinking of still building him for farming, but a little different.
This Build has capped Fire defense(with stealth on and suppressed), + 71% Recharge, and inferior ST attacks(but I don't use them much anyways), it also shouldn't be too expensive, at leat compared to my other build.
I haven't even slotted brutes fury in here yet...I'm guessing this build needs alot of work still, but I'd like to keep the cost down somewhat, and I want it to be a bit different from my all +rech build.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Quote:Checking this out right now...Check the link in my sig for help on Regen toons in general...slotting ideas...what powers do, how they are effective...
Quote:Really, any of those should work. If you were min/maxing the list would narrow slightly but you aren't. I'd actually suggest holding off for Staff if you can play something else for awhile. It seems like it will pair nicely with Regen.
We have a winner!, I didn't even think of that...but how much fun will that be! I won't even PL at all because it will be all new, and fun. I can wait....now I have something exciting to wait for!
Thanks for the help everyone I really appreciate it! -
Quote:Really? I wasn't going to slot for +rec, but i thought with regen you always wanted more...?Dark Melee/Regen has nice symmetry. Don't worry about slotting for +regen or +recovery, you'll end up with tons of both without really trying.
See I have alot to learn.
I think I like the DM/regen. I've played claws a bunch, and not ready for TW yet.
All my builds lately are very heavy on the +rech, can never get enough...
Xyzor, I'll definitely need some more tips on my build, once I get going.
Its funny I've played many powersets, and can tell you most builds off the top of my head...and how well they play in what.../regen I have no clue...that and anything to do with stalkers or SOA. Not my style... -
I've never played a /regen scrapper, I'm going to finally roll one up and I was looking for ideas of a good primary synergy wise.
I'm thinking I will more focus on Single targets...I've been running the brutes with AOE's to death, and my only 50 scrappers are a Spines/dark AOE monster. I'm not going to skip any AOE's mind you...or purposely gimp myself and I will be eventually IO'ing up and running Incarnate with this guy hopefully.
So, help me out...
(more info... NO PVP, NO farming, I'll probably PL myself until late 20's/32ish. I know how to play lower levels, I'm not going to hurt any teams by PLing to 30, but I like to get the toys a little quicker nowadays)
Oh...and what are the biggest hurdles in the life of a /regen?
Thanks for all the help! -

OK, so the MAX HP for PB must be higher than I was thinking....Thanks for that, I might try to find 2 more slots, I'm going to be going for high +Recharge eventually, just not there yet.
-
I tried searching, please point me to the right thread if this is oft repeated...I just returned to the game last week.
What is your typical slotting for Essence Boost, I've only got the bling for normal IO's right now, but I remember something about us having the same Max HP modifier as scrappers...and them being able to hit the HP cap with their Essence Boost powers. I just want to make sure I'm not over slotting.
I'm thinking 4 slotting it, 3 Rec, 1 Heal...will that get me close to the HP cap where I can reach it with set bonuses while EB is active?
Thanks! -
-
I've been away for awhile, but wanted to make sure before I finally rolled a Sonic/.
Thanks! -
I know it used to...but from city of data it doesn't look like it does anymore. Anyone know?
Will a mob be notified at all, even a little aggro towards the defender if its being hit with Disruption Field? -
Thanks!....
I knew I was asking a question that probably gets asked alot...but I mean...you can't expect me to look all the way back to a thread that was started YESTERDAY!!!! (OK, maybe I should have seen it)
But thanks for the replies! I might stick with Infinity and see if anyone I used to team with is still around. I does kind of feel like home, but If it was a ghost town I didn't want to stick around.
