Do the set bonuses x.x% Enhancement(Heal) effect the Max hit point of powers like High Pain Tolerance?

Simple question but I'm not 100% clear.

Thanks!

No - They only work on resistible heal powers I believe. So most click heals.

Whoa....and that's consistant how?

I assume it has to do with the toxic res? But wow i was assuming it worked in healing flames and reconstruction....that suprised me.

Got it in one. The Toxic resist makes it a +resistance power instead of a "click heal." It's been that way since I9. I doubt they plan on changing it.

They may change it, now that it's fixable.

It's actually been like that since they added Toxic resist to certain heals. It just didn't matter until i9. Effects that are the same but opposite (Tohit Buff/Tohit Debuff, Defense Buff/Defense Debuff, etc) are technically the same thing. That's why you used to be able to use a Def Debuff Hami-O to buff a Def Buff power. Odd as it may seem, Damage Buff and Damage Resistance are one of these pairings.

The easiest way to see the effects of this is to find a Mastermind pet with a +Resist power and slot damage in the pet. The Resist power will ignore the enhancement, but the detailed info still shows it.

That means that if you were under the effects of Fortitude or Fulcrum Shift or even Build Up, the toxic resistance would be boosted by the damage buff. To prevent this, the power was flagged to ignore buffs (which includes set bonuses). This effect applies to the whole power, not just the part that they want affected.

You can see the same thing when combining Defense powers that grant resistance (like the Ice armor in defender Epics) with Power Boost. PB normally buffs Defense powers, but the resist being flagged to ignore buffs makes the defense ignore PB.

Now that things are coded to be able to tell the difference between paired effects (ie, the recent Hami-O change), it's possible that these types of resist powers can be set to be buffed only by the powers that they're supposed to. That doesn't mean that this change is scheduled, or if it is that it's coming soon, but at least it's possible now.
