BTW just spend 2 hours online. Guess what 0 tells, 0 invites. I don't understand what the problem is. It is not as if people are spamming to invite you.
[/ QUOTE ]
TBH 8-10am on a work/school day morning isn't exactly peak population time. -

Edit: Personally with the introduction of merits I've pretty much guessed that the devs simply don't care to fix older content (loads of merits for Boreitrons TF instead of actually making a decent TF...way to go >.>
[/ QUOTE ]
Not convinced about that, TBH.
When the devs had finished setting up the merit system they had two options:
1) Spend lots of additional time rewriting various TFs (Posi, all the Shards ones, maybe Citadel) and release these plus the merit system together. That way the TFs would be nicer, and have rather lower merit rewards, but you might hold things up by an Issue or two while the TFs are being worked on.
2) Release the merit system as soon as it's ready, leaving the TFs unchanged and with a high merit reward to make up for the pain.
They've clearly gone for (2), but I don't see that that's necessarily an endorsement of the TF status quo; just a desire to get out a new reward system that's not particularly tied into TFs' actual content. -

Love the irony of this post. People using the team message to inform potential teams of what they're looking for is considered rude, whereas blindly sending an invite isn't?
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh yes - the irony in the last two sentences is positively heartwarming:
[ QUOTE ]
Why do you want to waste my time and spoil my fun, making me stop playing and spend all my time sending stupid messages?
Whenever I see the 'mo blinds tab' I know the person is rude and arrogant so I just don't invite.

Yes - what you're seeing is part of the new dual build system, which lets you set up a second build independently of the first.
The second build will have the same primary and secondary power sets as the original, but you can choose a powers and slots in a different order and use different pools. The second build has no enhancements to start with, and you'll need to obtain and slot enhs for it separately.
And, to emphasise, no decision you make on the second build changes the first build in the slightest. -

sound like we getting a bath robe....come out fighting crime with a Loofah and a rubber duck....don't underestimate the duck power's
[/ QUOTE ]
so you're proposing a new power set to go with it then: "Flicking bath towels"?
[/ QUOTE ]
I hear the pack also comes with a new power, Open Bath Robe (effect: AoE/cone stun). -
Hmmm - you're right. I blame Bill Gates.

The vet spec free slots are only on a limited time period before they vanish.
[/ QUOTE ]
Utterly and categorically untrue! Ghostraptor has confirmed it, Lighthouse has confirmed it. Once a character slot is on your account NC have no way of knowing how it got there (purchase, bonus per year, or the initial two freebies that were granted for logging on within a particular period of time), and there is no way for them to be removed once they are on your account.
[/ QUOTE ]
Were that only from the freebie ones then?
Cause there was a post about having to claim em before month was up else they would vanish.
[/ QUOTE ]
There was never a red name saying (or at least meaning) that, just a rather confusing one about how to get the first 2 "free" slots.
Those slots never appeared then vanished, you were just only awarded them in the first place if you logged in within a particular time window. If you did that and got them, they were yours forever - no expiry. -
I think it's meant to be (A), but we (and the devs!) won't know for sure until things actually get turned on on live and we find out if the code works as planned!
-
Seems hugely unlikely; the vet rewards are granted for the time that's actually elapsed while your account's active, not the amount of paid for (but not elapsed) time "in the bank".
-
Not really a serious suggestion, but you could scatter a bunch of mid-level (30-35, say) snipers all over the place. These would completely ignore all the toons that were "meant" to be there, or anyone with a mentor happy to walk them in, but would give the lowbie PLers a really hard time.
Several ways around this, of course. -

Howdy
Zonealarm informed me that cohupdater.eu.exe has changed since the last time it was run. While the exe changes a lot, I've never seen the actual updater change once. Is this fishy?
[/ QUOTE ]
Could be down to this:
[ QUOTE ]
Ex Libris:
The game client is the same so there is no need to download from the FTP. The updater has been replaced with a version that will read whether your account is operating from a MAC or PC and will adjust for that.
[/ QUOTE ] -
TBH you'll probably get more responses if you post the builds themselves, rather than the Mid's export; that way people can just read them and immediately reply.
It may be a bit late, but it might also be better to have one thread per build; I can see things getting very fragmented if 6 completely different builds are being discussed at length in the same thread... -

Whats the stockade? is it like a superhero prison ala marvels Vault or that negative zone place or DCs Arkham Asylum?

This is what I got when googling for champions online stockade. Doesn't look that advanced to me.

Well think about the new Server gives them the abillity to upgrade the graphics. So all they got to do is update the already built Places like Atlas.. all the hard work is done already all that is needed to be done is simply update the graphics.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not at all the case; graphics (storage and display) are all handled client side, and any changes they make at the server - whether it's to the software or involves using a whole new farm - won't affect them in any significant way.
Plus, for graphics updates to be more striking than "more detailed bricks on the existing building" there'll be a lot of work involved rewriting bits of client to support a new system, then maps, f/x and animations to make use of that system. If we want the job doing properly, it'll be a big one. -
The login screen's known to give false alarms about driver versions, so I wouldn't guarantee it's pointing at a genuine problem.
I'm afraid finding the right applet (if there's one at all) will be a matter of trial and error - look for things with names like "system information", "diagnostics", "monitor", etc... hidden somewhere in the start menu, run any you find, and see if they give temperatures anywhere on their displays! -
Could be the extra character slots aren't counted as part as the vet reward system, conceptually at least.
As the vet rewards all give in-game features/abilities, and the extra slots are entirely pre-game, I guess that would make sense. -
No need to live with a "maybe" if you have that temperature monitor applet.
Run the game with all the settings as low as they go, see how hot things get.
Turn settings up to crashing level, see if things get any hotter.
If they do, temperature's a prime suspect, otherwise it may be driver-related. -
You need to use invention origin enhancements that belong to categories that match those in your powers. If you bring up the full screen enhancement list and hover the mouse over a power, the details area to the bottom right will have an entry showing the categories of IO set you're allowed to slot for that power. Most powers will have one or two categories, a few have more, or none.
Hover the mouse over an IO set recipe or enhancement (in your inventory, or at the auction house) and the popup that appears will show which category that item belongs to.
Lots of links to other pages with IO set lists, etc... on that page I linked to - post a followup if any questions remain after reading all that! -

I would think a sequal would be an excellent oportunity to move to a single server environment.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hardware permitting; Freedom's apparently loaded to the max in the US, and even the UK servers can struggle when activity spikes because of a new Issue, DXP weekend, etc...
Unless they can beef things up and/or streamline the software significantly, it might not be practical to merge everything. -
[ QUOTE ]
No, patent law doesn't work that way. A successful patent claim against NCSoft has no direct bearing on any future claims for the same patent towards any other defendants. If they intend to sue Blizzard eventually, it makes no sense not to sue them today.
[/ QUOTE ]
Unless Worlds things Blizzard would be likely to say "bring it on" to a court case, being able to write off whatever costs are needed to empty Worlds' wallets a lot more readily than NCSoft.
Worlds might want to try building up their reserves by getting a few out-of-court settlements with the smaller players that would be seriously hit by an actual trial.
With a bit more money in their coffers, they might then be able to make Blizzard back down rather than commit to a trial that could go on for a fair while. -
Sounds like it could be overheating, of the CPU and/or graphics system. Is there a system monitor applet you could run to see what internal temperatures are doing?
If that is the problem I'm not sure there's much to do about that, other than ensuring good airflow (check for visible dust or fluff in grills, and try it on a hard surface, rather than your lap, to keep the vents clear). Maybe one of those "laptop cooler" trays you can get, with built in fans to add an extra bit of heat transfer? -
This seems to happen if a base isn't visited for a while - it normally "wakes up" of its own accord after 24-48 hours

This man is a real hero, more than any of you heroes will ever be because he stands strong in front of abuse and embarrasment!
[/ QUOTE ]
As a group we're playing a video game.
That man is dancing on the street to make a pop video, and as far as I can see attracting no abuse at all but the occasional bit of support.
Neither is remotely heroic.
Some of the game's players (not me, mind) may well be heroic in real life, though, as firefighters, paramedics, or similar.
TBH saying that a fat dancer is more heroic than any such people is pretty facile. -
It's a known bug - details in the list pinned at the top of this forum.
