  1. For a beginner I would still recommend regen, its not new, its not as hot as the scrapper set but its better than most people think and will allow you to get to grips with a stalkers play mentality a little easier.
  2. Energy Melee/Regen is probably your best bet for soloing pve
  3. My granite is so much in non-pvp spec its not even funny and yet I find it hysterical in warburg I have no end reds in any powers aside from mud pots so cant really hammer out enough damage before I have to stand there regenerating. Current spec means I cant really do much damage, can take the squishies tho

That said it was loads of fun fighting SinghMC, waited for him to take me to about half health before turning rooted, earths embrace and tough on, it was like watching my troller trying to damage someone

    I do fear kinetics though

Gratz man, to be honest I didnt seem him die too much

To make a tank/brute of any type cry run in with autobrawl on. Had 5 squishies in Sirens brawl a stone tank to death in a remarbably short amount of time before

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why does it work with stone tanks? Ok I admit the mental image of this is quite disconcerting.. Instead of crying I'd propably click unstop and whack at least one squishy... Its not like tank toggles are any good in PvP anyway.

This reminds me of the thing with /slap keybind. Whack-whackka-whacka-whack!

    [/ QUOTE ]

The reason people say stone is cause granite cant be toggle knocked, but I guess you allready knew this.
Stone tanks dont get granite till warburg, so it doesnt matter in Sirens.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Granite cant be toggle dropped? cool
  6. Stalk_obot_EU

    Sirens

As opposed to NPCs assisting the side that is overwhlemed by the numbers maybe making `pets` avilable for the underdogs would work

    Sirens

They should abandon all the debt and xp in the (exterior) zone as it is inherantly unfair, anyone over lvl 30 can accumulate huge amounts of debt there but cannot get XP so where is the reward from the risk?

Well the devs have allways said PvP is a "team" sport. . And taunt isnt supressed, you can perma taunt some1.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And I have never swallowed that explanation. I think its heroic fighting against overwhelming odds(especially if you're a tank ) , Id just like the chance to take someone down with me but debuffs prevent that. Nothing else does, note.

And about taunt, thanks for the info I plan on respeccing into provoke+taunt and at least 3-slotting them both. Ever since I noticed that I'm supposed to be a taunt-matic in PvP. Theres no going around that fact.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which character would you be using the taunting on? If its your Inv I find in PVP they fall pretty fast especially when I tell all the squishies to run in with brawl on auto Would still be useful with a proper team though. From what I have seen in the PVP zones (and bear in mind I dont have a tank myself) ice tanks seem to be the hardiest build and hardest to take down with CE stopping stalkers and ice patch being seemingly overpowered (or whatever the little ice patch thing that they stand on is called)
  12. [ QUOTE ]
Hehe... the dreaded Obot shows his dreaded build!

One thing that bothers me tho...
You have slotted Entropy Shield with 2 -END enhancements, and Fly with one. I'm guessing most of your fights are NOT airborne then? Because you'd save more END by 2 slotting Fly, not ES.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just the way the slots fell early on, as I got fly I didnt have a spare, however with my set up I am virtually permanantly in the air with next to no end degredation and that includes having SS on all the time in case I am -flyed. I have some ideas for tweaking it but that would require me actually lvling him for some reason when I log him on I dont leave the pvp zones
  13. [ QUOTE ]

A well co-ordinated Blaster team would be godly. Uncoordinated = horrible nasty mess.

    [/ QUOTE ]

yeah perhaps we should have said, a blaster team of experienced players = godly, otherwise it can be faceplant city
  14. Stalk_obot_EU

    2nd respec

I can probably assist along with Flicknife so long as we can synchronise, she normally runs through the respec with vigour and speed.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
Whether I lead with big attacks in a no-fury situation is dependent on whether I am in a team or not. Solo, I aim to be able to get through a newspaper mission with little to no downtime, so I'll mostly use the standard attacks, with a KOB thrown in here and there, and almost no footstomps save for boss spawns because a) another high damage attack against them is a good thing, and b)They are normally at the end of the mission so end-management is not an issue.

However, in a team situation, I use both KOB and Footstomp far more often, regardless of the amount of fury I have built. Jumping into a large spawn without Footstomping? Unthinkable.

Longbow flamethrowers in the 30s are a right pain, and almost made me respec in resist elements (currently my build has resist energies but not elements and also is missing tough hide. I intend to swap resist energies with tough hide when I get round to doing the respec trial again). However, they can be dealt with with alternative tactics, namely jumping about a bit (easy for me, as I run CJ and have hurdle) to stay out of the burn patches, hitting them first, while more or less ignoring things like the blokes with rifles, and using AS/Haymaker to keep them down if KOB wasn't ready when I engaged them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I figured as much, just the concept of witholding my big powers is enough to make me cry When I used to solo the mission in the pvp zones my main target was always the damned flamethrowers, I just hate them so much, if it wasnt for them and the fact that at lvl 33 I wasnt using some attacks I wouldnt have got the power either.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
you are missing out on a load of auto def powers which are always on but dont take any stamina while in use like resist elements and resist energies, also you have left out any slots on your lvl 35 power of tough hide, you want these and you want 3 slots in them (as with resist physical damage) otherwise you will only be able to fight opponents with smash/leathal damage and when you start to rise in lvl you will have difficulties.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I disagree. A brute can happily survive without the passive resist powers. The trick is being sensible about what you kill first. A couple of slots in tough hide wouldn't go amiss, but their not essential.

    [ QUOTE ]
You ahve too many attacks and most will be useless as you will ahve too many to chain, by the time your main attack has recharged you wont have even gone through half of them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Again, I disgree. My attack chain is Jab on auto (brawl when in PvP), Punch, Haymaker and Air Superiority, with KO Blow and Footstomp used when rage is high (all of the above have a rechardge reduction in), plus hurl for getting runners/looking cool.

Personal, I'd still put an accuracy in your attacks, as well as a recharge (although I don't slot for th_buffs, so you may not need to) and try and fit an end_red in your toggles, but I don't have my build in front of me at the momment, so I can't tell you off the top of my head exactly where I'd get the slots from.

    [/ QUOTE ]

For example, survivability vs lvl 30+ longbow is going to be impaired due to lack of fire resistance as there are hoards of flamethrowers lurking about, they caused me to spec resist elements in on my INV and Magma on my stone (pre-granite)Nothing is impossible but I would suggest for a new and inexperienced brute (which is what we are dealing with) would want as many passive defence powers as they can get in order for them to come to terms with the AT before they create a specialised assault machine.

I like to keep attack chains as small and fast as possible so I can run through them all, an high lvl attack power that isnt utilised when its charged is a waste imo, waiting for fury before KO Blow just seems pointless to me, the slow charging powers should be used as an opener so they are again recharged for the rising fury. As far as I am concerned a brute is a really tight build and I cant afford to have dormant/underutilised attacks in my build, only a /Stone can fit so many attacks in the chain and use them all due partly to the 70% slowdown and partly due to being able to drop armour like magma and crystal once granite is available

  18. Heres a basic build for you, its not tweaked and you may want some enhancements in other places and more end reds in attackas but I havent used the super strength set myself

    Best PvP Build?

Its all down to the player, if the player can utilise their build well and choose their battles well they will appear to others as awesome. Hurricane is a great -acc player anc can negate an awful lot of melee class players (and the rest if they enter it ) but I can do the same with my rad, its just not quite so easy as I need to get in there and stay in the debuff zone.

Stalkers and regen scrappers are also perceived as being `uber` but there are lots of bad ones out there.

It really is down the the player, my stalker build looks like crap but I can use it effectively as I built it around a specific playstyle, others would struggle with it as others would struggle to replicate TGs effective play with the same build.
  20. Get a kinetic to tag along with you above anything else, then you dont need tp foe, you just plow straight through everything

Fault is great in big mobs

Its best used for the -fly component. When your foe has nothing but fly as there travel power, there generally buggered.

yup and its very annouying even when you have more than one travel power

I have to say that I agree as well. It is nice to get and to show basic respec. I even do it myself. I never go calling anyone n00b or shout anything too abusive on broadcast. But still I'v had few tells from both of you to ask me to quiet down. You have been polite telling me that and I would like to think that I have been polite in my responses. Still it doesn't change the fact that the thing you find annoying and perhaps little abusive I think is fun and not too nasty.

    [/ QUOTE ]

To be honest I agree with you, it can be fun and isnt nasty....so long as you are with people you know and know you, knowing someone puts a whole new slant on what someone says as typed chat is inherantly flawed due to there being no tonal way to express emotions, even smileys can be taken several ways. I insult my friends in pvp most vigourously but they know it is all meant in fun, my fear is that such things on general broadcast in an open zone can sour the taste of pvp for new users. I always go through the zone with the new players explaining hero/villain chat and how the bounty system works, even giving pointers and advice on how to maximise their build and what my own weaknesses are. I just stand for fair play, I dont hide this fact and stand by it (I can still be a jerk sometimes, I am only human but I do try to keep this to a minimum )
