Best PvP Build?
[ QUOTE ]
Seeing as these days arena chat is spammed up with debates on build i thought i would make one on here.
I saw TG with his earth/storm controller muller people in the PvP zones which really came to my attention the best PvP controllers have a seconday full of storm control.
So wouldnt a storm/electric be even better? cos then u got more end reduct etc.
And super reflexes, apparently it is not that great because u can just stick a couple accuracy inspirations on and win but surely that can be said for every build e.g. u can just put more damage onto a regen.
any suggestions on fire/kin

I hate to break this to everyone, but TG isn't actually that uber on his controller. He's a team player, he doesn't carry the team and the team does not do well simply because he is on it. People remember him because he chats a lot, he's got a huge hurricane all around him and he uses TP foe a lot. I'm not saying he's a bad player, far from it, but do NOT assume that /storm is "uber" for PvP. I've beaten TG 1vs1 and my secondary is empathy.
Basically, the trick to doing well in PvP is to get yourself into a good team which work together. Try and make it into an 8vs8 rather than 8 1vs1's.
which is absolutely true. My build is not made to be uber is to overperform in teams i do specific work thats all
There are far more better builds than mine thats is custom. But what i am build to do in teams i do really well
well i saw him with imanginary against a scrapper and a tank and it seemed to be the storm that did all the work, it just looks like good. i would go with rad but with enervatin field u cannot slot it with debuff

You saw him with Imaginary? On Captain Freon? I'm suprised TG even had time to get a hit in edgeways.
The storm does NOT do all the work. I'm sick of this view that if you're a /storm you automatically win. I'm sorry, but it's not true at all.
lol calm down xan, whats ur idea of best controller PvP build? ice/rad? no rechrg no defense? no res?

Anything, but learn to play it well. Any controller will do well in PvP if they have a team that knows how to work together.
I've lost count of the number of times I've said that.
yer i guess so, im thinkin more solo

a solo controller will get slaugthered by pretty much 2 players if they can work together. he can only lock down 1 of em (with luck and the opponent not having BFs)
PvP 1 vs 1 is a rock/scissors/paper game, and can hardly be called fun. 8 vs 8 or even more is where the fun is at.
As a solo controller you are quite squishy, on 1 vs 1, you win some and you loose some.
1 vs 2+ is in 99% of the cases victory for the 2+ if they just work together.

nothing is. 1 on 1 is a rock/paper/scissors game. PvP cant be balanced 1 on 1 with the different ATs around. So it isnt

That depends on what the other 1 is. There isn't a universal best build.
just wondering, fire/kin is great vs PvE is it any good PvE?
right, i had a storm deffender.... honestly he got his behind handed to him to many times.... i find working in team works cause i bait all the rest of the team are invis and when the certain stalker strikes the team holds and finishes him.... they never really get the big picture
In my opinion a combination of Fire/Illusion with Kin/Rad are the best.
Not saying they can't be beaten, but they're probably the one with the least weakness.
And come on knowing how to play you build doesn't count for everything, I don't care how good let's say an Ice/Ice tank is he'll never beat an decent let's say Ill/Rad. I agree however that it comes down to skill when the sets have a good chance against eachother.
World of Jackcraft.
i mean have a fire/kin controller is a subsitute for a fire tanker n a kinetics at lvl 38 fire/kin explodes
the only things I haven't been able ot beat with an energy energy blaster are /regen although it has been very close everytime (normally I loose by one) and one particular ice/ice blaster

Try getting a fight with a Claws or Katana Regen Scrapper, it'll make you feel better.

first of all can we have this moved to PvP forum cause its not general discussion.
Second of all.
Storm is not a simple uber set that overpowers everything like many mistakenly think and i agree with Xanthus.I am really tired myself listen from everyone that the storm is cheating or simply overpowered. Storm set suffers a lot from kiting tactics (which is normal) and en drain tactics.
Furthermore it requires a lot of maneuvering and positioning to make it work in PvP.
What you saw in Arena was simply me and imaginary killing some really inexperienced people that thought they were up for an easy ride. Well MoG against psi dmg controllers is certainly very inexperienced move. Furthermore i have played with the best around the server like Aria,Kianna,Imagin,Night,Xanthus and i know how they work and play inside PvP allowing me to move accordingly.
I still agree with Imagin when he said is all about skill and build depending on what u wanna do. My build was designed to overperform in team with the control layed out and indeed it does. Damage wise i can only excel at high level pvp matches and i am dedicated tp belt for priority target. Thats far from being the best 1vs1 build but sure is one of the best for team matches. You need to focus what u wanna do and dedicate to it. The more specific task you have the better u can get to it. Its called segmentation
what he said
and this is genral discussion :P

no actually this is PvP discussion which has been done many times in the past in the PvP forum.
Its all down to the player, if the player can utilise their build well and choose their battles well they will appear to others as awesome. Hurricane is a great -acc player anc can negate an awful lot of melee class players (and the rest if they enter it ) but I can do the same with my rad, its just not quite so easy as I need to get in there and stay in the debuff zone.
Stalkers and regen scrappers are also perceived as being `uber` but there are lots of bad ones out there.
It really is down the the player, my stalker build looks like crap but I can use it effectively as I built it around a specific playstyle, others would struggle with it as others would struggle to replicate TGs effective play with the same build.
