Help!!! me plz ss/invul brute
Hi there, welcome to CoH/CoV!
Not all that familiar with invul, I'm afraid but I can offer a few pointers on ss and brutes in general.
1) Applies to most brutes, I feel but avoid slotting more than 2 damage in your attacks - fury will more than make up for this slotting.
2) I'd recommend the fitness pool as a priority (stamina at lvl 20 is almost essential for a brute, imo) and fighting (esp tough) is very useful too.
3) Get rage and 3-slot it for recharge, you won't regret it in the slightest
Other than that, which (and I can't stress this enough) is all my opinion, have fun and don't worry about the perfect build.
Hope this helps.

Disagree, would just not slot for damage as priority. Have taken the first three slots as Acc, rchg, Endred on all attacks, only one has 3 damage at the moment, but the others will with time. Just slot for endred and recharge first. Make sure you can fight long enough before putting the damage in

Hmm...
I'd certainly agree with damage not being a priority but I'd be more inclined to slot: acc, endrec, dmg, acc, recred, dmg.
With perma-rage and decent fury, you'll be more thankful for the increased acc, imo.
Edit: thinking of ss in particular but I'd still feel its viable for a lot of brutes - again, imo.
Ah, so you're just slotting one more acc than me, was wondering what your 6th slot is. For PvP I'd probably put another Acc in but dont feel the need in PvE

Well, a CoT mish (ugh) really made up my mind about the extra acc.
I can give a few points on the Inv side.
1) Dont slot RPD until later, you will most likely have something more useful the slots can go in.
2) Dull Pain I find more useful than Temp Inv at sub DO's as the heal is still useful when unslotted for heals but the damage res is just an end drain.
3) Unyielding is one of your most important armours get it ASAP as when mezzed you cant SMASH.
4) Invulnerbility is good when in the middle of a big group. As a brute I wouldnt slot for taunt duration as you cant take the damage a tank can but do slot for to hit buffs. With rage you can get away with 1 Acc in all attacks.
Note on pool powers:
Stamina is a must. You can only smash when you have end and your toggles need end to run as well. No end will most likely result in a severe beating for you.
Get a travel power. On all my Inv tanks I went with CJ and SJ. SJ is great as it gives you straight line speed as well as vertical movement. CJ helps to move between mobs keeping your fury as high as possible.
Just my thoughts - these are from playing with mid lvl tanks and so other people may have more detailed advice for brutes that I dont.
On the travel power front, I'd also recommend SJ - fun and more useful than SS for vertical movement, faster than fly and not nearly as slot heavy as TP (though do watch where you're about to land ).
Again, though, up to you.
My brute (ss/en) used to have all his moves 6 slotted with, 2acc, 2end red, 1dmg and 1 recharge, eccept knockout blow which had 3end red. My plan was to be able to go for lang times without resting occasionally able to do an entire mission running from group to group without resting and my rage bar would often be about 80%, however these days im coming accross a lot of purples that well hit rather hard lol and though my 2so heal for aid self returns 342hp to me i am finding i don't kill things fast enough. This has brought me to change my strat slightly and have 3acc 2dmg and a recharge red, i might need to rest more but at least i can survive the larger battles (if i hit harder i kill faster thus taking less dmg). Also on the not of the rage move i have it 6slotted, 3 cooldown and 3 tohit buffs (you know it would be easier if i turned the difficulty down but wheres the fun in that )
Thank you all guys, all i need is a build so i know wen to put slots on etc... i seen peeps map out a build before making the char how is it poss?

why have you skipped Entropy shield and taken acrobatics ?
Entropy is your anti mez power ..Resist knockback, disorient, hold, sleep, immob,TP wheres as Acrobatics is a mag 1 anti mez power with res V knockback and a mag 1 hold.
Defiant's GoEH/MILITIS METUS
Not to mention the high cost of acrobatics compared to most other shields. I was shocked to see it was higher than any of the DA ones I run (yes I know its less than CoF but I dont have that)

eek, listen to this guy, dont skip entropy as its effects are awesome, it constantly runs at full power so no need to slot it for def or anything, couple of end reds and its essentially an auto

1 Question here:
Why do most of you put 2 or more ACCs in the attacks?
I have a NRG/Invul Brute at 40 with 1 ACC in each Attack (and 3 DMG 1 END 1 REC)
Well, yes, I do miss every now and then on +0/+1/+2 enemies and have relatively big accurarcy problems with higher mobs (nontheless I'm still able to kill +3s conveniently)
Now NRG isn't the topic but SS:
SS got Rage from 18: +80% DMG, +50% ACC (if my builder's numbers are right)
So the ACC boost from Rage is already about 1.5 SOs of ACC. If I was SS (never had one) I would not put any ACC in my attacks.
Well, I like playing on Villainous though. If you like the highest difficulty, I think 1 ACC would be appropriate in each attack.
Help me come to clarity why people put so many ACC in SS powers!!!
Its because missing would eat end so i'd rather not miss and waste the end plus any ACC debuffs from nerva ghosts would cripple a player with only 1 ACC in there attacks so 2 is probably the norm for attacks

you will still miss more than you would want to with 2 acc SOs (1 miss is too many on your main attack ) and a lot of people do it for pvp reasons too as the base acc lvl is dropped from 75% to 50%

Ah okay, that's a good reason. I'm mainly into PvE and only do PvP sometimes for fun, but I'm not really concerned with it.
Once a battled a friend in Warburg. He's a Mercs/Traps MM and I nearly never hit him due to the FFG...
But he still lost to me
