    I disagree with that in some respects, my builds are anything but standard and are not all rounders, they serve specific functions in specific situations. I prefer hardcore builds because they are inherantly compromised and have a huge in built achillies heel and its fun to play around such limitations

  4. Having recently rediscovered my old US account that I had since I1 and brought over a fire/dev blaster with whom I am getting used to in sirens, I got a little bored last nigth when the PVP zones were empty.

    So I jumped over to Infinity on the US servers to check out the action over there and the difference (in virtually all things) was startling. The zone had at least 40 people in it for a start and each side kept getting pushed back after so long. It seemed stalkers (no suprise) and FF MMs are the flavour of the month over there, there were at least 8 of them camping the hero base. So I recruited a couple of /EM blasters and proceeded to use defiance and snipe to take them out, its such a thing of beauty to one shot a MM in PFF

    In terms of attitude it seems different too, broadcast is hardly used, there is little villain/hero good natured banter like over here but also there was none of the vitriol that we get here either. Perhaps the sheer numbers and changing dynamics means there is less time/need to chat.

    The zone also seemed full of people who were certainly not seasoned pvp players, questions about bounty were regular, where they could get inspirations from and stalkers didnt seem to know that they couldnt walk on caltrops I found this endearing though, the fact that newbies were not scared to come in the zone and with the changing dynamics ganking was no existant.

    All in all I am wondering whether to relocate US side just because the pvp was so much more active, heres hoping it picks up in the EU

    You need to look at the builds of those scrappers then. Scrappers criticals are unresistable in PvP, my BS/Regen can solo a granite tank in less than 10minutes. Faster if I'm lucky.

    Would be interested in having a fight with your scrapper in warburg to fight my brute and seeing how this would go, not calling you out or anything just that the only ones I have found who can solo my granite are kinetics.

    Now my granite couldnt beat you, its not slotted for that, no end reds in anything (kinetic spec) but have merrily stood there and soaked up silly amounts of damage, with health and rooted running my regeneration is really quite good and coupled with earths embrace every couple of mins I get another 1000+ HPts. I havent found a scrapper who can solo my rock yet is all
  6. pointless arguement seemingly for the sake of it, fact is there is skill in everything that we do, most know how to write yet cannot write a book, most can run yet cannot break the 10 second barrier in the 100 metres race, some of us can solo Lusca yet most cannot, most can ride a bike yet most cannot do the tour de france.

    Simple premise is this, there is skill in everything that we consciously do in life.

    As for you and Imaginary fighting, surely a better premise would be for you to get a total pvp newbie and give him a great build Vs Imaginary and see how things turn out.

    botty and some stalkers are fun to fight, but most bore me to tears, not that they are bad players, just the AT is meant to work in a way that is great fun to see workking, but pretty miserable to be on the receiving end of.

  12. the snipe cap is (or was reduced to following copious Hami farming in the US) 300, base energy snipe is 150, boost range takes it to 262 and thats without any range enhacements so even if powerboost did increase range it would be hard to see the difference.

    Of course it shuld be easier to tell on the other attacks

    or 30 seconds, following one of the sucessful hami raids hoardes of us went to IP, killed both luscas and then went monster hunting in PI Admittedly that many lvl 50s dont usually congregate in IP

    That doesn't really make sense. People play the AT's. A good scrapper or Tank has a very good chance to take out a solo blaster, at least a much better chance of that blaster taking out that scrapper or tank.

    Sorry perhaps I should have explained myself better, there are blasters who can tear apart pretty much any build even in the high lvls. When I said not specific people I mean that some people can take a build and make it do things that other people cannot and as such can be nigh on impossible to kill but these are the exception. A good player has a good chance of taking out anyone else but good players are not that common, there are plenty of decent players out there but Vs a good player they will usually go down regardless of AT

    But that Tank or Scrap is pretty much impossible to kill for a solo blaster in the 32+ game. See how it all balances out there? A global nerf to toggle knocking will affect every AT, including trollers and defenders that have some minor toggle knocking abilities. Also some other AT's will be impossible to kill then, like FF Masterminds. I say, just buff the powersets that are mostly affected by togglknocks(DA, Ice, Fire), but leave the system itself alone.

    In my opinion if toggle dropping is to stay as it is the huge damage that blasters can dish out would need to be addressed, and that in turn would mess up pve. I think that the percentages will be lowered for blasters as this is the path of least resistance.

    Personally I dont have a problem with the way it is now though I did delete my lvl 34 Inv brute because it was a joke in PVP with easy detoggling and long activation animations, so i can see problems with the status quo

    I said it before.To bring masses in PvP zones the solutions are simple and i am curious why the Devs not implement them.

    Ranking System

    Remove PvP rep cap

    PvP character Slots that will remove the need for PvP builds
    and will allow to create a PvP character on the go and simply enter straight away the PvP zone. Without the option to exit from it.

    Special PvP rewards that do not interfere with PvE (ranked emotes,Ranked auras,Ranked animations,Ranked temp powers_

    PvP in game Hall of Fame

    Remove debt from pvp zones

    Link the EU PvP zones to each other

    Create an international PvP server where Korea,USA,Europe players battle it out giving the opportunity for worldwide CoH events

    Solve asap major PvP issues such as toggle dropping

    Allow Villains and Heroes teaming in warburg

    Lower base item prices so that smaller SG's can participate in Base Raiding.

    regarding the vulture comment the same can be said for almost any AT, during the time that is being discussed I swapped and formed part of the hero team that invaded the villain grouping, it seemed that once we had made our move more "heroes" came in taking advantage of the chaos, hiding in our aoes and picking of villains with opportunistic strikes.

    While I think the stalker AT should be doing things like that I dont think it is becoming for scrappers to be picking around the edges of a controller teams carnage. Funny thing was most of the "hangers on" were not even in the zone when we started.

    as he said and have fought more than enough multiple /EM blasters to know this. He must ahve done something stupid like turn off granite or a rogue hit (I have impaled a scrapper for 7000 hpts before)

    the only thing that breaks granite atm is poison gas trap and dark scrapper self resurrection (aside from a crap load of holds)

    well actually you do in the zones which is what I think is a major problem for some people, arena matches are not frequent or dynamic enough (cant come and go) and the zones have npcs which if they take just the last hit point you get full debt. A pve player who wanders into the zones to ahve a look then gets a ton of debt from a few accidents is not going to ahve a good impression of PVP.
