So exactly what do you mean by 'competitive' then?

And no, you can't say that about Stalkers, because Stalkers are not pushed into a Power Pool to make their powers work.
At the end of the day, slots are slots and that's one slot the stalker is being 'forced' into taking. Two if you include Build Up.

And that's not even getting into the likelihood that a majority of defenders and corrs already had Leadership to begin with.

Competitive for what? Are they PVPing?

And couldn't the same thing be said for a Stalker being 'forced' into taking Assassin's Fill-In-The-Blank?

So I don't see this as game changing for Defs. Maybe moreso for Corrs who will be able to grab the snipe earlier. Maybe for some Blasters.. But not much for any of my offenders.
I'd like to think us more casual types are getting a nice buff. My Rad/Rad is going from Cosmic - X-Ray - Neutrino to Cosmic - Photon - Neutrino. That's a really nice jump.

My 2 level 50 blasters are getting one of the missing components to being truly monstrous. (Fire/Fire and Sonic/Devices).

I might even decide to roll up the Dark/Fire I was thinking about as well.
If I can replicate Arcana's build, my NRG^2 blaster is going to be an amazing glowy ball of destruction. If still knockbacky. But I like playing Bowling For Council so.

My defender can chain Proton Volley! My corr is getting, uh, faster animations, but that's all I ever wanted with him anyways.

I24 is going to be funtastic.
  5. So +22% to hit gets every snipe but LRM insta-snipe. For a defender that's Tactics at ED plus a Kismet.

My rad/rad can potentially chain Cosmic Burst - Proton Volley - Neutrino Bolt. Oh, I think Cosmic Burst is getting a range boost too.

Blaster Mez Avoidance = NPC logic changes to halt chain mezzing, Defiance, and Break Free

I'm pretty sure that's all we're gonna get. From listening to the talk today, I get the impression the devs have a certain hectic playstyle in mind for blasters. I don't see melee mez resists as being part of that plan.

  8. Defender with Tactics and Kismet turn into a snipe machine. Ho ho ho, I've always wanted those photon torpedoes. Now I have a very good reason to re-spec into them.
  9. I has a happy. Changes to DP animation times means I can use my main RP alt in more non-RP things. And the overall changes make me want to dig out my old ooold NRG^2 blaster again. I sense much stacking of yellow and pink skittles in her future.

Tactics + 40% enhance and Kismet proc gets you to roughly 16%. So that's only another 6% to go. Hmmmmmmm. Has there been any sightings of the second blaster ATO set yet?
  10. Minor necro, but I tinkered around and came up with a better build. She's now softcapped without Manuevers, and Spinning Strike should be up every combo without Hasten. Put AD on auto and watch her go!

  11. I put the mecha armor jetpack on my widow and respec'd her into Fly. Now everytime I have the power on, I can see thrusters on my pack (awesome) but I also keep hearing wings flapping in the background instead of the expected raptor pack sounds (not so awesome).

Ehhhhh. Temp Protection gives you your resistance to slows, Fiery Embrace is your big damage bonus generator, and who doesn't love a good rez - especially in a defense weak set?

If you absolutely positively have to give up three... I'm not sure why you'd want to roll a tanker but Cloak of Fear, Oppressive Gloom, and I guess the rez can be skipped in Dark.

  15. Maybe a play on 'Coyote Ugly' like 'Coyote Beauty' or 'Coyote Deadly'?
  16. I just started First Ward myself. While admittedly I can easily spot the typos, the hastily done in media res, and the lack of truly villainous options, I'm actually enjoying the ride. My brute's had a couple good moments breaking necks and massacring prison staff, and it just amuses him to no end that he can leave a trail of bodies to make Sam Peckinpah jealous and these people adore him. Maybe its also because the leveling experience is so much smoother. Street sweeping in between missions doesn't seem so tedious.
  17. "Dont' ask. Its science."
  18. Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others.
  19. While puttering around Virtue tonight, I caught a call on the LFG channel from a new player wishing for a team for her level 34 corruptor. Being the nice ambassador for the game I hope I am, I switch over to my mid-level scrapper to help out. Whoops, she's redside. OK, that's not a problem, I have, uh...

    ... a 50+3 night widow.

After some chatting and escorting her to the jetpack vendor she had already visited, I decided to fire up a Circle o' Thorns paper mission. We pretty much tore through it as fast as you would expect a 50+3 melee widow to tear through a paper mission, at which point she decided to call it a night. I think she had fun, but....

I'm wondering if I might've been showing off too much with powers and abilities she'd have to pay to get. Has anyone else had any experiences teaming up with just-signed-up players, and any recommendations on how to handle yourself?
  20. I think I finally found the big dumb brute I've always wanted. I put together a future build for when my marketing money vault has enough inf and came up with something that fits his concept, won't be a pain exemping, and has only a .1 sec gap in the attack chain. I'm still new to WP though, so I'm wondering if his survivability will be good enough for all the damage and knockdowns he'll be laying out. I'm also curious as to what incarnates above Alpha that would be recommended for a TW/WP?
