    Looking forward to it. I'll be there, and I have a good feeling about our prospects for success.

    Has anyone come across something of this nature happening? What do I do?
    Stuff in your email box expires after 60 days. You've probably noticed (or maybe not) that each email in your inbox has a timer (in days) so you can see how much time is left. So, if your emails hit that 60 day point, you're probably out of luck.

    If you don't think you had reached that 60 day threshold, I'd recommend sending in a support ticket.

    Find a picture of a pilgrim on teh interwebz, and use that as a guide.

    I rarely take the axe. On the one or two characters I have it on, I have regretted the choice afterwards. Sands of Mu, Blackwand, and Nemesis staff are a formidable combination.

    You might want to reconsider having a brief lapse in your sub time. A loyalty promotion begins December 1st. If you maintain an active account from Dec. 1st through March 31st, you get a bunch of free stuff:

  6. Good points all. Lore pets are good for the problem I outlined but, as you aptly point out, create several other difficulties at the same time.

    I'm going to make leaving the terminals the default strategy, with taking them out becoming an option if time's becoming an issue.

    I've reorganized the first post, with a lot of things rewritten. I'll go over it all on Sundays, as usual.

    And in case it got lost with everything else in my last post: I am going again this Sunday, normal time.
    Might be a good strategy to leave the terminals. The beam can cause problems when it's targeted behind the regen stations, as folks are probably zoomed in due to the cramped nature of the space, and don't see the targeting icon. Keeping everybody out in the open would make avoiding the beam easier, and less risky.

    If we're not concerned with Loves a Challenge, we could also have lore pets summoned for extra damage, which would somewhat mitigate the extra time involved with letting AM fully regenerate.

    We're close though, and confident we can nail this thing this weekend.
  8. Another week, another 'meh' from me. Glad to see others will get use out of the Black Friday sale, though.
  9. Cool.

    As I'm subbed to Aug. 17, 2012, I'm looking forward to getting these new shinies.

    Edit: Oooo, first after red name....first time.

    CoX Bucket List?

    1. Play one of each AT to 50. Only a dominator (43), and a brute (49) left to finish
    2. Play all story arcs on my main. Blue side completed, but almost all red side left to do. I generally like to keep my main blue side (hero or vigilante), so I don't see this one getting checked off soon.
    3. Get all available badges on my main. Close to completion, 1287 at the moment. Still missing Germinator Terminator, Partner (41/50), Green Stuff, Master of Keyes, and one more First Ward day job (name escapes me at the moment). I don't consider Bug Hunter as being available.
    4. Make a 2nd build on my main (50 Peacebringer, 1st build is pure dps) that can tank effectively. It's already built and IO'ed, but performance in game was...wanting. Need to take a second look at it, and rebuild.

    That's about it. Can't think of anythings else at the moment.

    Like Amy said, pets aren't supposed to impact on the badge, so I wasn't trying to cast aspersions your way, Steel.
  12. Nice work this week. Agreed, Placta -- by any objective measure, this week was very successful. Getting three of the four badges in four runs total is an achievement to be proud of.

    I'm quite certain we should have gotten Green Stuff on that last run. I watch pretty closely when the beam is firing, and during the entire final fight, the only things I saw get pummeled by the Obliteration Beam were some fire imp pets. At no time did I see any players get caught.

    We're getting close though. Nice work, all around.

    Broadly speaking, for a ranged class, the blaster is what you're looking for (and have already found). My first blaster to 50 was an ice/ice. My 2nd blaster to 50 was a dual pistols/devices. Both largely soloed their way to 50.

    Solo, blasters are glass cannons. They dish out the dps, but have little in the way of damage mitigation. I found the Medicine pool helpful to both my blasters. You may also find the Leaping and Fighting pools have helpful powers, if they can be fit into your build.

    Have fun, and welcome back.

    Ok, I figured it out. There all there - you just have to find which server they've been placed onto.

I still take him out to play once a month and to pay the SG rent and maybe "arrest" a few PI baddies. I tried doing Tips with him but he is just not very fun to play with the ED nerfs in effect. Fond memories with this character.

    I am very grateful for all the server space so that I probably will never have to make a delete decision on any of my 50's.
    Heh, a sword/regen scrapper was my first 50 too. He's long-since retired, transferred over to Freedom, and not ED compliant. Doesn't get much use, but I couldn't delete him.
  16. Good news on 21.5. Should help with the Mo runs. If nothing else, it will allow more trial attempts since the runs will be shorter.

    My main concern with the final fight remains, however. Players are frequently killed by AM's standard attacks (not disintegration), foiling the Loves a Challenge badge. We've never had a really good run at LaC because of this, as usually the first death happens fairly early in the fight. It's obvious players are not bringing their own tools to the trial to mitigate this problem (eg. purples, greens, temp powers, etc.). Apart from getting some specific ATs for defense buffage (eg. bubblers), I'm not sure how to address this problem.

    During both runs, there was some confusion during the final battle as to whether the badges had failed. For future runs, I'm going to ask that:

    • Unless I say a badge has failed, assume it's still in play.
    • If you're absolutely certain the badge has failed, and I don't say anything, let me know. (If you're the one who dies/gets hit, that's certain enough. Send me a tell if you won't say it to the league.)
    • Don't assume that just because someone's health bar drops to "empty" that they've died unless you see the character faceplant, or a message "Anti-Matter has defeated Corpsey." With the new interface, 1 hit point is largely indistinguishable from 0 hit points.

    I've updated the first post to include the these, plus a few other things.

    Next week, I have an early afternoon RL event, but I should be able to, and will make every reasonable effort to, be in Pocket D at the usual time. If I'm not, feel free to start forming without me. (Just save me a spot!)

    In the event that 21.5 comes out this week, I'm going to try to get in as many runs before the weekend to get used to the changes, and possibly make changes to the Sunday badge runs based on that. No promises, but people who missed the earlier Anti-Anti-Matter/Bunker Buster runs may be happy.
    I'll be back for more punishment next week.
  18. I'll be back for more punishment this weekend.

    We came really close to Green Stuff on our second run. Unfortunately, a player got caught in the beam shortly before Anti-Matter's third time freeze. So close on that one.

    Loves a Challenge didn't really get a good run, IMO. Multiple deaths at multiple times throughout the final phase on all three runs. As a ranged damage character, I don't have too much difficulty in staying alive. Not sure what to do about this. Clearly some defense buffs may be needed here.
  19. Roster
    @Placta - elec/elec blaster
    @Spatch - Peacebringer
  20. Once again, thanks Placta for putting that together. However, the all-too-familiar outcome was the same. Players simply not paying close enough attention, sabotaging the badge attempt literally within the first minute of the final battle. And I don't think sabotage is too strong a word -- if you're getting hit by the first or second Oblit Beam, it may as well be deliberate.

    Time freeze excepted, it's not hard to avoid the green stuff and to deal with disintegration. NOT. HARD. AT. ALL. I simply do not understand how we cannot even make a decent go at these badges, failing them so quickly during the final battle. At this stage, I'm even open to the suggestion of most players hiding out in the hospital, since it is apparent we cannot rely on basic competency of the players. We're certainly not getting Champion's best and brightest on these runs.

    Of course, now that I've gone and said that, I'll be the goat on the next run.
  22. Thanks for organizing the two runs yesterday, Placta.

    I think, if at all possible, we really ought to restrict the league to folks who are intimately familiar with the trial. Both Green Stuff and Challenge are extremely difficult to attain at the best of times, without having inexperienced players who are learning a challenging trial on the fly.

    Not trying to be snobby, just wondering how we can change things on future runs to increase the probability of success. As it stands, we haven't even gotten close to either badge. Indeed, Green Stuff has failed on the first beam on a couple occasions. Excepting the game's time freeze cheat, there's little reason for anybody to die from disintegration or the Obliteration Beam.

    Just my 2 cents. That and a buck fifty gets you a cup of coffee.

    Either way, I'll be back for more punishment this upcoming weekend:

    Roster
    @Placta - elec/elec blaster
    @Spatch - Peacebringer
  23. I'll be there with Cin as usual, as I still need Green Stuff, and Loves a Challenge. Would really like to knock these two off my list ... they've been a thorn in my side for far too long now.

    Re-quoted for emphasis. It should be an easy badge, but in my multiple attempts at this badge, it's always been foiled by players not listening to clear, well-articulated instructions. So please, LISTEN TO THE BLEEDIN' LEAGUE LEADER!!!!

    I will try to make the runs this afternoon.
