It was supposed to have had Megatron testing what would have become the virus he used in Beast Machines, and Rattrap found out that Dinobot copied his memories and personality into the Axalon computers and managed to capture TM2 Dinobot and put that data into him in an effort to restore his lost friend. I thought it was a nice story that had Rattrap fully realize that despite all their arguing and fighting that Dinobot was his best friend.
I didn't mind the Japanese (English subtitles) version of Cybertron (aka Galaxy Force). Some things I guess are just more enjoyable in their original format. English dubbiing can really spoil a show when you compare it to the original. In general, you can hear the emotion and effort in the original Japanese dialogue. When shows get re-dubbed into English, it feels like the voice actors half-pancake it. The only show that comes to mind where I liked the English dub vs the original is Voltron. I tried watching the original subbed in English and I wanted to rip my ears out. But I digress...

The Rattrap / Dinobot relationship definitely made Beast Wars an interesting watch. I don't remember the show well enough to quote their interactions, but I can say that they were probably the most memorable characters, along with Silverbolt and Black Arachnia.

    I love Rattrap <3

On a semi-related note, I really wish Beast Wars II and Beast Wars Neo had been brought States side.

Which I don't see as a problem. As was pointed out, we have alternate methods of healing, so how 'broken' would it be at this point in the life of the game if people could choose a self heal without wasting a power pick?
It's not a matter as broken, as whether or not the time should be invested in "tweaking" it. Between coding, UI design and whatnot it begs the question if the time and effort is better placed elsewhere.

Right, and that's fine, but my point is that we have choices we can make that don't require the developers to spend time adjusting an existing pool that has viable options.

If there was no alternative, I'd agree and say that time should be spent looking at the pool.

I don't think the Medicine Pool ranks on the Dev's Top 10, 50, or even 100 list of things that need to be looked at.

Honestly, the way I view the Med pool these days is a bonus due to us being given the Fitness Pool as inherent. Back in the day, 3 power choices would be "wasted" getting Swift/Hurdle, Health and Stamina. Now we're spoiled and get them for free.

I guess what I'm saying is, the pool isn't a priority in the grand scheme of things considering that there are other options.

If you really believe that the Pool needs work, start a thread in the Suggestions board and layout A) Why it needs to be changed and B) How it should be changed.

I think you will get more directed feedback if you present your case in that manner. (And remember, even if you think something's a good idea, it doesn't mean that others will)

I have Aid Other and Aid Self on my SS/Shield Brute and I find both useful.

Having soft capped defenses, the interrupt on both is negligible.

Having aid other doesn't mean I'm a "healz0rz" or anything like that. There were times where I used Aid Other on other melee toons fighting beside me if they needed the boost.

I think the whole idea behind the pre-req's is learning to walk before learning to run.

If there weren't alternate options, I'd agree with you that the pool could use some tweaking.

    However, we have:

    Green Inspirations
Self Heal Temporary Power (10 charges I think?)
    Destiny->Rebirth Incarnate Power

And for what it's worth, Aid Other and Aid Self on my Brute each only have the base slot with a level 50 Healing IO in them. And that's more than enough in my opinion.

Is there a set time each day that it's usually done? Does it depend on the server? (I'm on Union, btw....which I found out AFTER I put all my toons there that it's an EU server).

Anyway, just trying to get an idea of how to participate. Also, can it only be done once per week by a character?
WSTs are active for one week, hence the "Weekly Strike Target." If you run that Task Force/Trial anytime during that one week period, you get the special bonus - either the Notice of the Well or the XP Bonus (if you're not incarnate.)

Each character can only get the special bonus once per week. So if you run the WST on Tuesday, get your bonus, then decide you want to run the same Task Force later in the week, you will get the regular rewards.

However, running the WST more than once during a week earns you credit for in-game badges.

As far as when folks run the WST, I have no idea when "peak" hours are for Union.

For Virtue (and I'd guess Freedom, the two most populated US servers), after 5:00 pm ET is usually a safe bet for people to be around.

Most (if not all servers) have global chat channels run by players to help forum teams. If you ask around, I'm sure someone can point you to the one(s) for Union.

Otherwise, it really is all about concept. There isn't a ginormous difference among the various choices, IMO. Yes some of them are better in ST Damage, others excel at AoE and some have poor damage but use an exotic type like Psi. And of course, there is the buffing side of the tree... which has various ups and downs. But as far as I see it, it all is a wash more or less.
Hrm. I was always under the impression that the Longbow t4 ranked among the highest for DPS.

I might need to check out the Cimerorans now...

No no no. The teammate was suggesting that it wasn't "shardy/xp" enough if we didn't clear the entire map(s).

It wasn't a speed run by any means. We were moving quickly, but still killed most of the mobs that were spawned. The TF ran for an hour.

    Anyway...

Thanks for your input folks. I think I'll just be a bit more specific next time I advertise
  11. So I inherited the forming of an ITF today and it was originally being advertised as a Shardy/XP run. So that's how I continued to advertise it.

Now my question is, what exactly constitutes a "style" of run?

    From my perspective:

Speedy = Hop from Objective to Objective, doing only what's needed - least amount of time possible.

Shardy/XP/Steamroll/Regular = Kill mostly what's in the way, don't go terribly out of your way to get additional mobs. Generally spending an hour or so on a run.

Kill Everything In Sight = Pretty much self explanatory. Could take hours+.

The reason I ask, we were about 25min into the run after the second mission, and I mentioned that I didn't want to clear the map (Nictus spawn map) and that after the last cyst was down, we'd clear the ambush, then move on. Someone passed a comment and I genuinely felt bad that the run may have been mis-advertised.

I mean, all in all, we spent an hour on the ITF, killed most of what was on the maps, and I think (hope) that everyone enjoyed themselves.

I'm just curious as to what other think when the above are advertised and what they translate to.

    Thanks
  12. I remember there was a bug(?) early on that you had to have run an ITF or unlocked Midnighter's or something along those longs for Ramiel to talk to you. And/or possibly having too many open story arcs.

An alternate solution would be (if this is a possibility) to have another character who has Astral Merits talk to Astral Christy and purchase an "Alpha Unlock." With that, it winds up in your Character Items email and you can claim it on any level 50 character that hasn't already unlocked their Alpha.

While not a direct solution to the problem, it's still a viable option.

    Hope that helps.
  13. It would be nice if VIPs had the option to "permanently unlock" features that are included with VIP, in the event they have to cancel their VIP subs.

As it stands now, VIPs cannot purchase items they already have access to.

I know myself and others would take advantage of such sales in the hopes of planning ahead. Just because we VIPs buy unlocks now, doesn't mean we will cancel our subs.

The way I see it, PS opens themselves to more cash flow if VIPs could buy things such as the AT unlocks or VIP Powersets.

I'm more likely to buy something when it's on sale and save for later, then pay full price later for something I'm kind of on the fence on and don't really "need."

    Just a thought

Either way, the sales are pretty awesome. I'm sure freems and preems will appreciate the discounts.

    1 whole child
    1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
    1 1/2 quarts turkey stock
    8 cups prepared stuffing

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Place rack in the lowest position of the oven.

    2. Remove the childs neck and giblets, rinse the child, and pat dry with paper towels. Place the child, chest side up, on a rack in the roasting pan. Loosely fill the body cavity with stuffing. Rub the skin with the softened butter, and season with salt and pepper. Position an aluminum foil tent over the child.

    3. Place child in the oven, and pour 2 cups beef stock into the bottom of the roasting pan. Baste all over every 30 minutes with the juices on the bottom of the pan. Whenever the drippings evaporate, add stock to moisten them, about 1 to 2 cups at a time. Remove aluminum foil after 2 1/2 hours. Roast until a meat thermometer inserted in the meaty part of the thigh reads 180 degrees F (80 degrees C), about 4 hours.

    4. Transfer the child to a large serving platter, and let it stand for at least 20 to 30 minutes before carving.
I hope you took a recipe for roasted chicken and just replaced "chicken" with "child." Otherwise... remind me never let you babysit. LOL

I hear ya. It's like going to the super market and getting guilted into adding money to your bill by the cashier. (What pisses me off about that is that they really have no interest in the charity itself, only that if they get the most people to donate, they themselves get some sort of prize/bonus)

Up front, I admit that I have very little specific knowledge on how packets work in general and with CoH.

However; from what I noticed on your screen shots, your wireless connection was always between 1 - 2 bars, which shows very poor signal strength.

My recommendation, if possible, would be to try using your PC on a wired connection - at a friend or relative's house, to rule out that it's your connection itself causing the problems.

If you still experience the same issues on a wired connection, then you know it's either your PC or server side. If the problems go away, I think you can safely assume it has to do with your connection.

To me, this is how feedback should be presented. An opinion backed by reasoning. Not just "this is lame, and I won't use it, and we should get better stuff."

It's concise, to the point and respectful.

The "character" item window definitely needs a revamp of sorts. Especially with the Super Packs. There is just so much stuff listed and with the window not resizable, it can be difficult to find things - especially on the fly.
  18. I'm not sure if it was suggested in this thread (or prior threads) but would giving Tankers something similar to what Defenders got be an acceptable compromise?

    Wiki entry:

    Quote:
In Issue 17, in addition to the endurance discount, Defenders gained a variable damage bonus based on level and team size, with the largest bonus for being solo and level 20 or higher. A defender on a small team or by himself has more freedom to concentrate on his enemies, which allows him to increase his damage output by up to 30%. Each additional team member reduces this bonus, to a minimum of no buff at all at three or more teammates.
Also, for what it's worth, ever since we got Brutes on blue side, I haven't given Tankers a second look. Scrappers, kinda-sorta-depends, but if I'm going melee, I'm going Brute.
  19. I don't know.

I mean, when you "gamble" in general there is a chance for loss on your part.

Example, I bet $10 that the Jets will win versus the Giants. If I win, I get my money + whatever winnings. If I lose, I lose my $10 and possibly more depending on what the terms were.

With the Super Packs, you're not losing any of your points/money. You're always guaranteed to get -something-. Whether Team Insp, Reward Merits, Costume Pieces, etc.

And even at the 80pts/pack, you still always wind up getting more than what you're paying for, points wise. (Based on the market cost of the items).

Just my thoughts on the matter...

Personally, I think it's an excellent idea since I'd rather not pay for the crappy extras (inspirations/temp powers) just to get costume pieces or recipes.

Also, I think game stores should follow the same rules as any other stores. I don't see random grab bags at my local grocer or Target store.
But is a grab bag really gambling? There's really no penalty and you don't "lose" per se. You pay $X and get Y products. So long as the combined value of Y products is more than the $X you paid, I don't see a problem with it. Whether or not what the customer "feels" the value of the Y products is accurate is a different story.
  20. So in the past few days I've crashed at least 10 times using the Enhancement Converter window. I've gotten the "Send Error Report" window each of the times.

Most of the times it's happened, I've also had the Auction House window open.

It's happened without the window open as well, but less frequent.

    Anyone else having this happen?

This made me LOL big time.

I remember the first time I saw Jackie Chan was in The Cannonball Run. It wasn't a major role, not really memorable at the time either (I was fairly young when I saw it).

The next time I saw him was in Rumble in the Bronx, and was hooked after that.

Years later when I rewatched The Cannonball Run, I was like "O_O NOWAI That's Jackie Chan!"

Jackie's a fun guy to watch on the screen, and from what I've read, he's a pretty nice person off screen too. I selfishly hope he doesn't retire anytime soon

Also, One More Thing.......... JACCCKKKIEEEEEE.... Chan Adventures was an awesome cartoon

  24. Back before the change to Dark Astoria, I used to take my Invul/Nrg Tank in there and play with Adamaster. It was fun going toe-to-toe with him. I couldn't kill him but he couldn't kill me either. I always laughed when he was "stunned."
