It's been suggested before, but I would like to see a power icon in the team window next to anyone who has the temp powers on them.
Basically like any auto-power you would have.
When that person uses all the temps they have on hand, the icon disappears.
And not so much for pointing fingers and blame when something's not used, but more so to identify where the temp powers are and assist people on their use.
Or maybe have their name on the team/league window change color if they have a temp on them.
/2 cents -
For what it's worth, and I don't care what anyone says, newest drivers aren't always the best. When I switched from XP to Vista, the newest drivers (at the time) caused so much lag and CoH crashes. I wound up using beta drivers from 2 releases prior and they worked without any issues.
One thing that you may want to check (if you haven't already) is your in-game graphic settings. I had heard from different people that sometimes their graphic settings magically change without them doing anything to them. -
Quote:I was thinking the same thing.Call me cynical, but I'm gonna go with Rikti raids, Zombie attacks, and random outbreaks of supernatural activity. Plus a random reappearance of Snaptooth, Baby New Year, and a bit of skiing.
Based on previous experience.
Or I could just be being a bit cynical in my old age...
The anniversary where the GMs were spawning AVs and GMs in random zones was a LOT of fun, albeit a lag fest.
Still, one can hope... -
Quote:Reminds me of Coolio and Amish Paradise...I still find it funny she bothered to be "against" Weird Al redoing one of her songs in the first place. She's such a silly little twit in the first place that the idea that she was "too good" to be subjected to Weird Al's treatment struck me as totally laughable. For her sake I hope she was never seriously against this and just pretended to be as a joke...
I would think it'd be an honor to be parodied by Weird Al. -
There is nothing wrong with a Power Set where there are some powers you would prefer not to take. In fact, in my opinion, it's a good thing. I don't want to have to take every power that a primary or secondary offer. I like having choices and variety. It allows me to pick Pool powers that I find useful. I'm not a fan of Repel and Inertial Reduction. I would rather take Hasten and Recall Friend. If other people do like those powers? Great! It adds variety and makes each character unique.
tl;dr
Kinetics is fine. -
Just wanted to thank you for the heads up and the open line of communication.
The morning down-times don't usually affect me as I'm at work, but it's nice to know that the information gets put out there.
(And thank you for the open communication I've seen in other threads)
Whether news is good, bad or indifferent it's nice that it's there. -
You had Domi with you.
Domi pwnz.
That's why you won -
Quote:Hate youuuuuu :P (Not really)There is a rumor MoLambda is not that easy?!
If that is true, there is reason to brag? no...??
Lets make some jealous / enemies, and lets brag about Our MoLambda attemps!
Joke aside, MoLambda seems a lot easier with more ppl at +2/+3 in league, so i wont be surprise if this get easier and easier.
Next time you do a Mo run let me knowI bring you essbeee and klondike bars

Given the choice of playing on an unstable server where trials and zones are crashing left and right versus some server downtime so they (hopefully) fix the problem... I'll take the downtime.
It's no fun going halfway through a trial or a Hami raid and then having everyone disconnect/crash and have their rewards roll back.
Honestly though, this type of stuff shouldn't be unexpected after the first week of a release. It happens almost every time. If it's not one bug, it's another.
Being that the game is a spiderweb of old/new/crazy coding with patches here, there and everywhere, it's no surprise that things don't go super smooth on the initial release. Still, they're working on fixing the problem, and they've acknowledged there is a problem.
However, if this goes on for more than a month... then I'll be singing a different tune -
Quote:They are not a requirement actually. In order to get the Master of Lambda Sector badge, you have to defeat Maurauder without using any of the grenades or acids. You do have to acquire them though. As such, aside from some of the suggestions above, I'd think it'd be better if the molecular acid items were not a requirement to use in the mechanics of the trial. Allow it to be 'available' to speed things along, but don't have them as a mandate to get a mechanics-based portion of the trial accomplished, that way, the league doesn't suffer due to miscommunications, hording, griefing, et al.
There's no reason the temp powers should be a mandated use item; change the trial's mechanics so that Marauder/portals, etc CAN be brought down using our own powers, and not mechanically locked behind these temp powers. Use them as an OPTION to make things a tad easier/qucker, not a MANDATE to complete the trial.
This is just another suggestion; YMMV.
Quote:The easiest way to avoid this is to decide who will be responsible for the Acids and who will be responsible for the grenades. Even on a random PUG this is a point I think people can agree upon.
One suggestion that a friend had made to the team, and I've seen this a few times on others, is to keep a couple of empty tray spots open for the temp power drops so you know if you got them or not. -
Quote:I'm pretty sure I was on that run with you (the 2nd one you mentioned) and yea, I didn't get any badges either.I got Master lambda on my ice/rad corr and got all 3 badges +the MoBadge, but...
Later that day we tried again, i was on my brute and we did pretty much the same, at some point we decided to use grenades, but not the acids. Once we completed, we got no badge at all, where i was expecting to at least get the badge for not using the Acids.
I can't say I'm surprised though... there's always issues with new releases that take a week or so to iron out.
Hopefully folks will still be willing to try for the Mo badge in the coming weeks. -
Quote:But that's part of the fun!I wouldn't say "BAF never gets old." so much as say "you never know if the league your in absolutely sucks or will actually listen to the leader"
While conceptually it's relatively easy to coordinate the objectives in these events, in practice - not so much. What I find amazing is how the league leader will ask everyone to have league chat visible because that's where instructions will be given and people just completely ignore that.
I was on a league and the leader had given the run down of everything that was happening and someone in team chat goes "So what are we doing?" The response was "Well, the leader just posted everything in league chat, scroll up." And the person goes "Oh I don't want to scroll up, just tell me what they said." Major facepalm moment. -
Since Friday:
Hamidon Raid Zone Crashes: 2
BAF and Lambda "Lost Connection to Map Server" kicking out the whole team: Too many to count.
Trials started in RWZ, Midnighter Club, Cim, Pocket D and Studio 55.
Rewards are randomly rolled back - whether it's threads, salvage, inspirations, etc. -
Hrm. I don't know how a downtime at 7:15 pm ET is favoring the US.
But you can believe what you want.
Things happen. It's not like the servers go down every Friday night every week. -
Quote:I did 2 LS runs last night night. First run we only had 10/12 people so it didn't go all that well. On the plus side, I got 40% of Interface unlocked and some threads. So Issue 20 is here! People are clamoring to run the new Incarnate trials...
I want to know about your experiences on Virtue, not some other server. I'm sure not everyone has had a chance/gotten around to actually doing some, but as time passes that will change.
Launch Day/Night:
Participated in countless preformed Lambda trials that were continually swift and successful, which allowed me to slot my Destiny power. Only one of the Lambda trials I participated in failed, 7 people, random queue, and a few first time experiences -- had the issue of people not paying attention to their temp powers.
The one BAF I decided to join up on went extremely well surprisingly. We completed phase 3 with only 5? escapes.
Only server/lag annoyances I had was when the server at atleast 2 instances of the RWZ exploded, both of which I happen to be in. There was also the issue of a group of 16 players zoning into lambda and instantly getting kicked (trial crash).
--
It has been no where near as frustrating as I thought it would be and in fact it was a lot of fun.
So how about others
Second run, I ran with KiTTY&Co. and that was a success. Got to 74% unlock and finished it off with some shard/thread conversions. I also got lucky and got the "rare" reward table.
One thing I really don't like about the trial is that you can't use temp powers. If Warburg nukes are the issues, they should just disable them ala the CoP. Getting around without a vertical travel power = painful.
I'm hoping to run more tonight! -
-
Hrm... this works for Hami... might work for the server.
*sets out a plate of nachos and a plate of klondike bars side by side*
...
*stretches*
Okay, here goes...

Quote:It's all good! There were some others running it for the first time also. The Tin Mage was fun, even if my rad/archer made up about 80 percent of those deaths....and it was my first time on it. I have to thank you and the others for putting up with my noobishness!
(btw, this is @Mellissandria!)
Next time we will kick major butt! -
Quote:Yea, we had a little bit of this and a little bit of that. I guess I'm just amazed there can be such a disparity on difficulty depending on team makeup and players. It's hard to know what's "average" these days. Maybe I'm just spoiled lol*curses Zombie!*
Seriously though, considering how many good TFs you run or are a major part of getting together, you're bound to have a stinker here and there. And considering how many people are just giving the TMTF a shot for the first time now that it is the WST, lots of painful deaths are to be expected. I did one yesterday where only two of us were level shifted, only 3 of us had ever done it before with only 2 having been on successful runs, one person was alpha unlocked, but not slotted and the tank was on a test build. Just to make it even more fun, our only debuffer of note rage quit after dying to Director 11 so we went on with just 7. Hour and 20 minutes, 36 or so deaths later, we finished it. Sure it wasn't the ultimate run, but it was fun and there was a sense of satisfaction from all who stayed for getting it done.
Quote:Pft. Dying against the Director isn't any reason to rage quit. It's a reason to rip his arms off. Interesting occurrence: He'll plant a bomb on the corpse of all defeated players. Right on top of it. Yeeeeah. -
I still want a SG Beacon to Cim. I mean, if we can get a Beacon to Pocket D, why can't we get one to Cim? A beacon to Oro would be nice, too. (Not really a necessity for either, but would be nice to have.)
-
Quote:Oh, getting debt wasn't the issue. It's just discouraging when people are dying left and right. You're level 50, so debt isn't a big deal. And I ran a TM TF last night at 1 hour 20mins. Not the quickest I've ever ran it, but it's not that bad
Director 11 is what slowed us down.
As leader, I felt really bad. I don't like seeing teammates on the ground. I know it happens inevitably but it doesn't make me feel as better.
I want people to have fun when they run with me - not cursing their decision to join the TF :P -
And by certain people, I mean myself!
UGH!
I always say I'm not going to do it, and then I wind up putting one together that is as bumpy a ride as it gets.
So with that, major thanks to everyone who stayed for the Tin Mage run last night.
After the first mission, we lost our 8th but the remaining folks pressed on.
Just over an hour and 84 deaths later... a winner was us!
... and no more Zombie-led task forces for a while :P -
Quote:Nope. However, when you respec, and "sell back" your excess IOs, you get back the cost of the recipe plus the cost of the salvage (vendor costs, not market value). There are no vendors, or quartermasters, or someone that buys crafted enhancements? My slots are filled too so I can't "Pull" my stuff to lower the price. My email is full too. I'm probably going to have to delete the extra.
As another option, you could always make characters on other servers, email the IOs to them and have them sell it at WW too.
And then email yourself back the profits.
Just a thought... -
Score. Finally someone -else- getting all the blame!
For once something isn't -my- fault!

Quote:I'm having a problem and was wondering if anyone here could help, as of today I can no longer watch anything on youtube. I get a black screen, no play button, no error message or time. I use Chrome but I've tried Fire Fox and IE none worked. I've turned off ad block and my virus scanners and still nothing. Other sites work fine and I'm out of ideas. Can anyone help?
To make this CoH related I do watch videos of CoH on YouTube so I would like to see the previews to new issues and cats doing funny things.
I'm not sure what you've tried but this is what I would do:
Restart computer (A lot of times this gets overlooked)
Uninstall/Reinstall Flash
Make sure I'm using the most current version
