My initial thought would be that the "purpled" character will out-perform the Incarnate in this comparison. You get a greater variety of bonuses from the purples. Now, that may all change as the Incarnate system extends, but as of now I don't think that having what amounts to a free slot in every power is better than the set bonuses.

How does one earn a hero merit? Is there an equivalent Villain Merit?
Also, is there a limit to how many can be earned in a specific period of time? -
I've always loved playing my Tri-form PB and enjoy tanking for teams when necessary. The biggest drawback to me was the lack of movement speed, and this is really going to change that. I used to only like it when I'd have someone to SB me...
And yes, the extra slots to put uniques and other IOs in is going to be a nice benefit. -
Seems pretty good...but it would've been nice to have it bypass ED entirely. I hate having to deal with all the math!
-
Do buffs get the ED treatment...for example, if I have roughly 97% damage buff through enhancements on all my attacks, would I benefit at all from the Alpha slot buff that provides damage?
-
So I got on test to see how this was...
With a 3-slotted (with running) Swift, Dwarf runs about as fast as your regular model without sprint on. A definite upgrade, but maybe not worth the extra slots. I'll probably stick with the one slot and call it good.
With 3-slotted (with jumping) Leaping, Dwarf jumps pretty high and pretty fast...I'd say as fast and high as a well-slotted Combat Jumping.
It's nice to have the Inherent Fitness carry over into forms... -
That's a great idea. We should organize a "rhino stampede" with a bunch of Dwarves who have 3 slotted leaping and swift.
This is a great addition to my other dream of a Nova armada (20 or more) floating around in a PvP zone blasting non-stop at anything that moves. -
Has anyone tested Dwarf form with 3-slotted swift yet to see if it moves at a reasonable rate?

the devs thought /Regen scrappers were dying too easily with their Dull Pain, Reconstruction, IH and MoG...so they decided to give them access to another panic button besides Phase

Is there a list somewhere of the power pools / patron pools that open up for each AT when they switch sides?

Been in the game since the end of Beta in '04, maintained 2 accounts for the past 5 years etc...here is what I'm disappointed with:
While I understand that we were told "way back when" that Praetoria would be a 1 - 20 zone, I'm a little disappointed there isn't more. You can work your way up to 20 in 2 or 3 gaming sessions and then...
Side switching is great, but I don't see it as opening any new content. I've run everything on both sides over and over with tons of alts and doing it on opposite sides with newly switched characters is...meh
I am disappointed that an entirely new expansion didn't include MUCH needed end-game content, more new enemies for both sides, more new powers, and more enhancements etc. The expansion just doesn't feel significant. It feels like an issue update really. CoV felt like an expansion.
Maybe it's game fatigue...I've taken breaks from the game here and there, but I am a pretty disappointed customer. I've loved this game, defended Dev moves, altered my characters with nerfs and buffs over and over again...but I'm sitting here with servers full of 50s and well, I've kinda hit the wall that I was hoping GR would break down. It hasn't. -
-
So...regular subscriber, 6+ years yadda yadda...I thought I was promised entrance into GR closed beta by remaining loyal? I'm not complaining, just wondering if anyone knows what happened?
I've had 1 account active from 6 years running, 2 accounts for 3 years running. -
Huntsman builds are best for missions 3 and 4
NW great for 2nd mission -
I don't attack enemies until my team asks me to AND thanks me for the damage I've inflicted on them.

Since I17 dropped I've had about 50 temp power recipes drop. Has there been any datamining related to the drop rate of these particular recipes -- and has adding them dilluted other drops? I haven't seen a single purple this entire issue, and that was after averaging 1 - 2 per week prior.
Is it just an RNG thing? Or are the odds stacked against us even more now? -
With whips out and available to MM's, it got me thinking....there aren't enough lion tamers in Paragon City. I therefore propose a new Primary and Secondary available to Scrappers and Brutes.
Whip, of course is the primary. Add some customization to the whips...Indiana Jones whip, Electric whip, Zipper Belt, Money Belt, skinny tree branch and retool a few of the MM attacks...you have a new primary. Of course, this would include a modified Build Up / Rage power known as Abusive Rage where the one weilding the whip would go into an uncontrollable fury beating everything in site. It would be double the buff of Rage, with double the crash and debuff after.
The new secondary would be similar to shields, with some slight differences. /Chair defense would allow you to keep your enemies at arm's (or tooth's) length. Like shield charge, there would be a great AoE called Sit 'n Spin only granted to those who combine whip/chair. The user would spin himself on one chair or stool leg rapidily with the whip fully extended hitting all in its path.
It's outside the box thinking like this that will keep the game going for years. -
That change should be made...and while they are at it, might as well give us an alternate animation option like Footstomp. Oh, and power/color customization.
-
Yeah, I've had about 16 of these drop now in only 4 hours of play. It's ridiculous ESPECIALLY if it is replacing set recipes and/or affecting drop rates of rares/ultra rares.
Give me something I can use. -
Which arcs are the dopplegangers in?
-
This change is fantastic -- especially for squishies with no self heal.
