Spiders and ITF

Am i the only one who noticed this? Everytime i am on a ITF speed run, there is usually almost ALWAYS a crab or bane, is there a reason or are they just overpopulated like that?

It's probably because they rock. In fact, the only thing that rocks more than a Crab or Bane is a bunch of Crabs and Banes.

I will not rest until we have in-game throwable pies!

I am a big fan of doing theme based ITF's I have done and all VEAT ITF, all Kheldian ITF, and a all Epic AT (VEATs & Khelds) ITF. I have to say by far the Soldiers of Arachnos ITF was the easiest and fastest.

VEAT Team - Fastest time (1hr 5min) and a few deaths (around 10ish)
2 Banes
2 Crabs
3 Forts
1 Widow

All Epic ITF - Second Fastest Time (1hr 33min) with a few more deaths (around 15-20)

2 Peacebringers
2 Warshades
1 Crab
1 Bane
1 Widow
1 Fort

All Kheldian ITF - Longest time (2hr 47min) the most deaths (around 40-50)

3 PBs
5 WSs

Crabs/Banes bring Debuffs, Cones, AoE's, and Pets that extremely help with bulldozing through an ITF.

I did ITF last night and was surprised that half my team, usually all heroes, showed up as VEATs. A crab, two banes, and a NW with a Tank, scrap, I think a blaster, and me as an ill/storm. We finished in 55 min with 6 deaths.

We had that "killing too fast" problem. As soon as I cast something it was all over anyway.

Correction: Three SoA, three scrappers, a tank, and an ill/storm controller.

There's a lot of Epics filtering through from the i17 changes.

Even I have managed to get to 31 now so anyone half-decent should easily be in ITF range now (and there were lots of them floating about the Rogue Isles).

So much nicer to team with than stacked Demon MMs, especially if you're playing a melee character. *shudder*

I hate fighting alongside the pets. Especially Fire Imps. Makes me feel like I'm having to sit at the kid's table.

I know what you mean. My pre-24 widow was on a team with 6 Demon MMs on it one night.

It was nightmarish. The Demons were one of the reasons I shelved my Ice/Psi Domi and a Stalker. Being in melee and being shoved about by them isn't fun.

Of course the other reason was that with dual builds my Fort kicks the Domi's bottom and a Widow does the same to the Stalker. Being a chronic Alter it's great being able to decide on what I feel like doing and what's on the team, pick a build and yet be levelling them both at the same time (I love when I level).

Once I hit 35 I'll be hollering for my first ITF with her (I suck, never managed to do it at all).

Cuz VEATs rock

We did a perfect no death ITF in 70 mins, with 7 VEATs & 1 Sonic/Sonic Corrupter, not to long ago. It was rather fun & highly amusing.

I delete more 50s, then you'll ever have.

Since they have a Tanker Tuesday I think we should have some sort of VEAT Day once a month doing TF and stuff that moves from server to server. We could call it SoA Sunday...lol

To the OP:

It's because busting caps in savages never gets old

Probably because the level requirement has been lowered, therefore everybody is creating Epic AT's. One you taste awesome, there is no going back.

P.S. To the OP, I'm probably the only one who actually gets your avatar. It's amazing.

+15% def to all for the team
+tohit for the team (can't think of value right now)
+damage to the team (again can't think of the value)

And that's without leadership pool. Then add in solid AOE ability, the ability of widows and fortanata to cap the entire team's defense, and useful debuffs or controls. Is it any wonder SoA are appreciated in an ITF?

Hmm, with that, then I guess that SoA are just plain good for any TF/SF, if they have leadership, then I bet they can make any team overpowered by far.

Do people actually take the ToHit toggle?*

How do ye manage to fit it all in? I have to skip it in order to get me some lovely AOEs so the other two toggles are needed (to do more damage with the AOEs and then let me survive the hate they generate).

I admit I can be a bit of a masochist so In 1 of my Widow and crab builds I skipped my travel power. It made room for more awesome like double Assault and Maneuvers.

I'd actually do that over the Tactics style powers, if I had the room (not skipping my Combat Jump / Super Jump though, too much fun and that 3% is valuable to me when Mind Link is up, takes me over the soft-cap on melee).

I agree Mind link is worth it. Once I finally got a widow high enough to grab that power I was in love. Seriously when you build a widow in mids...you realize that you have to make a lot of harsh choices and a lot of great sacrifices. It's..just..to..much..awesome.

My Widow is not only my first character where I'm using and slotting the two builds at the same time, but I also find myself yearning for more Alternative Build slots so I could try out other Fort variations (like a control, Vengeance & toggle-heavy Team Support build, and maybe a Spin & Psi Tornado & Epic AOE melee build).

Yeah that's the reason why our speed run teams tend to consist heavily of SOA. Some of them are pretty good at ghosting, too.

Also, there is no time, your sword is enough.

The only question is, which is best for it, Fortunata, Bane, Crab, or Night?

Best for what? and ITF? That's like asking which flavor of ice cream is the best! What do you prefer?

Forts are best because they do psi damage and punch through Unstop.
NWs are best because they have faster Mind Link and do -regen with their claws.
Crabs are best because they toss venom grenades and AoE and have good resistances.
I don't play Banes, but they're probably best because they have venom grenades too plus they lay the smack down on ST.

In conclusion, pick whatever flavor, they're all tasty.

Huntsman builds are best for missions 3 and 4

NW great for 2nd mission

Hmm, then maybe either Crab or Fortunata would be best, because Crabs have good AoE, and Fortunatas have Psionics.
