Actually, base raiding wasn't that great. It was easy to spawn-camp the enemy, the developers made (wrong) assumptions as to how many people were in groups of 24+ people, raid pathing sucked, and the whole thing was a huge mess.

The central issue was the assumption that the larger (24+ people) groups far outnumber the smaller groups. This assumption somehow persisted with the developers until around Issue 13. It might still exist with the developers, but I think that is wishful thinking.

Well you could have clicked on a plaque, logged out and came back to having a "tick" of the appropriate badge meter. Easy enough to check.

Since at least Issue 13 (Dec 2, 2008), I believe.

All badges, other than Invention badges, have had their hint text filled in with a greater amount of detail. All badges will explain how many foes need to be defeated and Accolades will explain which badges are needed to obtain them. Meters have been added to all badges where appropriate and badges that track more than 1 kill, event, etc. should now have help text.
Yeah, they went out of the way to make it clear. However if you looked at the history tab with unfinished badges, it would have been obvious.

Note that the above still doesn't apply to gladiators, the red-headed stepchild of the badge system.

I have no idea what gave you that idea. It flies in the face of evidence of the badge progress meters.

    A 3D Option?

Any option requiring special glasses tends to hurt. Actually the shutter glasses tend to give me migraines just as fast as the polarized lenses.

Also you can add more options to your interface to create messages with.
    • From the top of the screen select USER CP
    • From the menu on the left under Settings and Options select Edit Options
    • Scroll to the very bottom of the page until you get to Miscellaneous Options
    • In the Message Editor Interface box select Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing from the drop down list.
This should give controls for bold, italics, insert link, etc.
This, indeed, will enable the advanced editor.

    A 3D Option?

Thankfully I found a version of Avatar that wasn't in 3D. Guess what? I not only enjoyed it, but I didn't suffer a headache or get fleeced another $3-$8 (depending on the theatre). The last movies I watched in 3D were "Up!" and "Monsters Vs Aliens". I didn't see the point to spending that kind of money again. Especially since I've worn prescription glasses for the last 27 years. Not one of the glasses option is comfortable over them, and I end up with a massive headache by the end of the movie due to the glasses constantly shifting.

I can't agree with you more on this subject.

Yes, but with the title & poster name all the threads above that still exist (some don't) can be searched for. I'm working on a version 2, but RL seems to be more distracting.

Thorn Trials are a one-time thing, while you can run Posi every 18 hours(or more but with diminishing returns).

Same rules apply to the hero respec trials, by the way.

You can get merits for all the respec trials no matter what, subject to diminishing returns.

You can claim 1 respec from the trial after level 24, an additional respec after level 34, and a final respec from the trials after 44.

Note that they are not the same type of arms that the original poster means:

At any rate the arachnids are NPC-only, there are also wolf spider bosses, and I doubt that anyone would consider Lord Recluse as a player character. As to the VEAT spiders, that is a weapon backpack, thus they are extending from that. Just like Dr. Octopus' "legs". They are not like Goro from "Mortal Kombat":

What I'm saying is that the skeletons that CoH players are based on is the "standard" humanoid. Requesting player models that break that standard is unlikely to ever be fruitful.

What I am saying is SHORT of that it's not possible.
They didn't have to shut off XP (though that would certainly account for it), other things like stealthing missions, level pacts (I've done this with another account to slow, but not stop levelling of one character), or just keeping oneself in perma-debt (either deliberately or by play style). Even without running flashbacks you can get a sizable amount of reward merits.

In the 1-15 mission range you can get 39 merits from the Hollows, 4 merits from the 2 badge missions (2 each), 21 from The Vahzilok Pollutant Plot, and 14 from Bonefire. 78 merits. The missions don't even have to give xp for defeats, so get the 2 regular arcs + Talshak before running Positron for 66 merits. If the xp has been slowed/stopped, you can add 13 more for clockwork captive. If a Warshade or Peacebringer, even more can be achieved.

In the 16-19 range: 17 Tsoo Shenanigans, 11 for the first couple Faultline arcs, 14 from The Mind of a King. 42 reward merits. +58 for Synapse. An additional 13 from the Vahzilok arc and badge mission.

Without the additional arcs available, that 244 merits by the low 20s.

I think that without a huge amount of effort, it is entirely possible to get 600 merits before level 30 without completely shutting down XP.

Sad, isn't it? Especially since there are plenty of hero arcs under 25 with 18-35 merits each.

You have completely ignored the fact you can get reward merits for completing story arcs, in addition to task forces and trials.

"They Live" came out in 1988, well before Duke Nukem. Though the radio host that DN stole all the quotes from might have used it before then. DN also took a lot of quotes from Bruce Campbell.

Yes, this game goes out of its way to make you aware of what happens in a PVP zone: Contacts outside the zone, missions to said contacts, the PVP-free timer, drones around the bases, etc.
  19. Combat Attributes window.

    Feature - Combat Attribute Window

    • This window displays all the character’s current attributes.
    • It can be accessed by clicking on the “Powers” text on the Powers Icon Tray.
    • Players may also access the Combat Attribute window with the following command : “/toggle combatnumbers”
    • Below each attribute is a list of all powers affecting the attribute and the power's contribution.
    • There should be tooltips for every attribute thoroughly explaining them.
    • Each attribute can be sent to the Attribute Monitor window (via right-click context menu)
    • Masterminds can right-click their pet and view their pet’s attributes.

    Attribute Monitor

The Attribute Monitor window is a minimalist window designed to be unobtrusively left up at all times.
    • Up to 10 attributes can be monitored.
    • You can drag the window to any part of the user interface.
    • You can right-click on elements to re-order or remove them.
    • If there is a monitored attribute, the window will stay open. If all attributes are removed, it will close
    • If you right-click the buff icons by the health bar the context menu should list everything it’s actually doing.

  21. If you do some of the older arcs, you'll have the possibility of opening up Maria's arc. Otherwise it would be easier to find someone on one of Freedom's badge channels or in the Freedom section of the forums.
  22. How many story arcs do you have? What level are you? If you have 2 major arcs you can't open Maria's arc. However you can't out level her as she is 46-50. She is usually introduced by Tina Macintyre.

Beyond that, you didn't mention which server you are on.
  23. I can think that I can say with nearly 100% certainty that multi-arms models would be NPC-only, if they ever were introduced. The only way to properly animate them would be to control the powers. I severely doubt that the art department would be able to properly do animations for all the powers on three different models (male, female, huge) with multiple arms. The game is pretty much built around a standard human-form (Head-torso-2 arms-2 legs) PC.

I tried to grab you, but you went AFK. I got the badge, with @Sayaki, @Elimist, @Azile, @Mintmiki, @Leo Yo-sha, @Maya Redhand, and @Cold Pizza.

I'm willing to run again to help you out. I could bring another character to get the badge.

Yeah, I know. However I've had some players ignore that warning, especially the second mission.
