Quote:But that would be taking an idea from that other MMO, and heaven forbid we do that! =PThere could even be (gasp!) little side missions that some pedestrians or cops have randomly available.
Great ideas guys, keep 'em coming! Hopefully a dev will poke his head in here and read some of these suggestions. -
I really don't see the point in opening up the RWZ for lowbies. It's like saying "Look at all this neat stuff you can do! But you have to be level 35 to do ANY of it, now go do something else and don't come back until you're level 35."
Well, sure you can team with friends there, but why not just go and team up with people who are closer to your level? -
Sorry for triple-posting here, but I've come to say that I've finished a new Arc! Information is as follows:
---
Arc ID: 341280 - The Center of Havoc.
Since the re-emergence of the 5th Column, fighting has broken out on the streets of Paragon and the Rogue Isles. While most of it can be contained, certain fights are exploding into full-fledged wars! It's time for you to enter the battle, and stop these violent outbreaks.
---
You can review either of my arcs "Becoming a Villain" or "The Center of Havoc" for me, and in turn I'll review yours. Read the rules at the beginning if you want me to review yours. -
Whew, man. Sorry for taking so long, but between my horrible procrastination and the new Halloween event I just put it off to get the new Halloween goodies. Anyways, onto the review.
Arc ID: 58812 - Something comes to Yarmouth (Oliin)
Rating: 4/5
The good: Story, character design, mission setup.
The bad: Grammar errors, minor difficulty. (Explained in detail below.)
Full review (Slight Spoilers ahead. Read at your own risk)
---------------------
Okay, so lets get started, shall we? I start the mission, and the contact begins to explain that his city is in danger. The phone lines have been cut off, and there's a Longbow blockade surrounding the city, preventing him from investigating himself. This is where you come in, as the contact wants you to get past the blockade and investigate the situation. And so the first mission begins.
As you enter the mission, you realize that the Coralax have overrun the place, and Longbow is under attack. There are a few Longbow battles scattered across the map, and the objective is to rescue on of their soldiers. After rescuing the captive longbow soldier, she tells you that they've got the Lieutenant captured as well. This become your new objective, and you go to save the captive. Upon rescue, he tells you that there's a huge Coral monster leading the Coralax in this section, and the next objective is to defeat it. Sure enough, I find the big Coral thing, and break him into pieces. Mission accomplished.
Returning to the contact, he tells me that his cousin, Titus, has been captured by the Coralax, and he needs you to go find him. The map is a big outdoor city, and the objective is to look for clues to his cousin whereabouts. I look around the map, clicking glowies and saving random citizens until I finally find a clue. I search around some more for Titus, and soon enough I find him being held by Coralax. I defeat the surrounding enemies, and titus tells me what happened, about the kidnappings and everything. I return to my contact to give him the information.
After conversing with Titus again, you learn that one of Titus' neighbors has been captured also, and you need to go rescue her. So I enter the map and begin looking for the hostage. I eventually find her, and she tells me that she was captured not by Coralax, but by a Police Officer! After escorting her to the exit, she tells me that the Officer is still nearby, and I have to go defeat him. The Officer is a custom boss with a Policeman's uniform, plus Psychic and Invulnerability powers. He proves a tough fight, but eventually goes down. With the mission completed, I return to my contact again, only to learn some bad news.
Upon completeing the mission, the contact tells me that Titus was under the control of the Coralax the whole time, and has infected a number of citizens with the strange coral! The next mission has you going to look for Titus, and see if you can stop him. This mission is where I find my first gripe, the custom group. They've got excellent design, and the minions aren't too tough, but the Lieutenants are a whole different animal. I spent minutes trying to defeat one Lieutenant, and I got killed while trying. I notice that they're running Rise to the Challenge and other willpower abilities, which makes them extremely hard to take down. Now, I know this isn't really your fault, it's the custom group creator's habit of overpowering critters, but I would still go back and change around some of the powers to perhaps make them a tad bit easier. Of course, this is probably just me, but I digress. I find Titus eventually, and unfortunately I have to knock some sense into him. Fine by me! I manage to take down Titus, but not before he tells me his master plan.
Onto the last mission, I have to defeat the Coralax leader, and destroy the source of the strange Coral to prevent further mutations. After some amusing captive dialog and some tough battles, I reach the final boss. I'm not going to reveal who they are here, because that would ruin the story. Instead, I'm just going to skip to the end where I beat him and save the day. I tear down the pillar of Coral, and save the city of Yarmouth!
---------------------
Closing Statements Overall, I enjoyed this arc. The story is well written, and there are some funny moments in there, I especially liked the captive dialog in the last mission. The only problems I noticed were some grammar errors scattered here and there, and the difficulty of the Lieutenants of the custom group. but other than that, I fully recommend this arc to anyone, I'm sure you'll have fun with it.
Again, I apologize for taking so long. I try to do these as fast as I can, but sometimes things just hold me up.
Also, Aisynia, I've begun editing my arc "Becoming a Villain" some, and I'll let you know when it's finished. If you could try it again some other time when it's done, that would be great! -
Quote:Positron won five million internets that day upon making that quote."Ultimately we decided to leave the silly stuff to the other Superhero MMO"

After seeing Dual Pistols in action, all I can say is when the heck is Going Rogue going to come out!? -
Now that sound awesome. I'm tired of magically searching the laptop by standing there and crossing my arms.

Quote:We're all just speculating here. Nobody knows for sure what the Going Rogue system is going to be like, what restrictions Rogues or Vigilantes will have, what they're allowed to do etc.I watched the video presentation and skimmed some of the hero-con threads but didn't see this mentioned. Source? Speculation? Halp!
If they do put major mission restrictions though, I'll probably never use the system. -

This thread is full of win. =D -
Can someone at least give me a link that will partially explain what this thread is about? I hate twitter and I can't find anything by BaB or Posi on it.

$15 a month is hardly expensive. A single work day pays for a whole month of this game, and this game is worth way more than the standard price.

I see Newsie standing handing out papers all the time, and Mr. Activist has been doing the same thing. As it stands now, they serve no purpose. They occasionally spout something about the new issue (I've been hearing them talk about Shields and Willpower a lot) but that's pretty much it. I think they should actually DO something instead of just standing around all day.
I propose the Newsie/Activist be actual informants. For example, I click on them, and a window will appear similar to the gmotd window. This window will have information on latest events, new issues and what-have-you. This could be a way for returning players to find out what's changed since they've been gone, and for beginning players to get a grasp on the new stuff.
Since villains currently don't have anybody like this, maybe there should be a shady guy lurking around major city-zones simply named "Informant." Similar to the Black Market's "Looks like he knows something" character. -
It's an accolade power for getting all the AE badges. It lets you edit/publish/create AE arcs anywhere. Although with the AE badge changes, it's insanely easy to get now.

Quote:That would be friggin' epic. I would pay big bucks to see that implemented next Halloween!I think an acceptable alternative would be, when a vampire/werewolf/zombie kills a player character, spawn a new vampire/werewolf/zombie NPC named something like "Zombie {Character Name}" which only has zombie/vampire/werewolf powers. Maybe even a badge for killing your zombified/varmpirized/were-ized self
-
Well, there's a /e talk emote in-game, if I recall correctly.
But it doesn't really make a difference, it would be a lot of effort for a little reward. -
My picture broke... =(
Phooey, this is what I get for trying to mess with my account I guess.
Anyways, it WAS a picture of me with 666 architect tickets. I'll see about getting it up again. D=
EDIT: Here it is!
Also, lol to the person who gave me -rep for the small image. =P -
That too. Someone moves a character off of server A to server B, then they merge server A and server B. That's $10.00 wasted right there, and one less subscriber to the game. Now, lets say about 300 players did that... BAM! 300 less subscribers. That's also $3000.00 stolen from the players too.

Not trying to be rude, but in the future, please do a quick search before posting anything. Someone might have posted the same thing.
If I had a dollar for every time someone posted this suggestion, I'd have a lot more money than I do now. This suggestion has been posted too many times to count, and it always gets the same response. HELL NO.
Right now, I've got the name Smash Zone claimed on freedom. It is my name (technically), and nobody else has the right to take it. Now, lets say we combined Triumph with Freedom. But, Uh oh, someone has the name Smash Zone on Triumph too! Who gets the name? same for supergroups, what happens then? There are just way to many problems that would arise with the implementation of this idea, that it would actually have the opposite effect of why your doing it in the first place.
Sorry, but this suggestion is most likely never going to happen. -
Aight, just a little update here.
I apologize for taking so long to review your arc, Oliin. Things have been a bit hectic for me, and I've also been preoccupied with the Halloween event. I finished half of your arc today, and I should have a review either today or tomorrow when I finish the rest. -

As of right now, he's pretty broken. The instant he gets attacked, he runs like a coward, and never stops running. Today, I was getting a team together to fight him, and when we started attacking, he actually ran to an Arachnos base and got droned. Other times I've fought him, he wouldn't stop running, and we'd end up chasing him all over the place until he died.
Also, his dialog is screwed up. Occasionally, he'll just say a single word, a random letter, or even just a period. Here are some things I've seen him say:
[NPC] Ghost of Scrapyard: cannot
[NPC] Ghost of Scrapyard: the
[NPC] Ghost of Scrapyard: a
[NPC] Ghost of Scrapyard: .
I think Scrapyard is long overdue for a fix. He needs an AI change to make him stop running, and he needs a dialog fix. -
Castle says something in a dev-created MA mission that pretty much suits everyone that's ever complained about anything. =P
Quote:[NPC] Castle: Blah, blah, powers, blah, blah, theory, blah, blah, nerf Aid Self, blah, blah, dominators rule! blah, blah, blah, I like Tankers, blah, blah, blah, (boring personal anecdote) blah, blah, Arcanaville said this is too weak, blah, blah, Starsman charts? Nooo! blah, blah, Oil Slick? *sob*, blah, blah, blah. -
I think you just gave the reason for why Scrappers don't have EM. =/

Went to the AE vendor to purchase Recipes with my tickets, when I saw THIS!
AE is evil! Ban it nao!
(For the sarcasm impaired, this is just a joke. Though I seriously had that many tickets.)
EDIT: THE PICTURE IS FIXED ON PAGE 2! -
A better Idea would be for the Endurance cost to rise for every pet that isn't upgraded already. So for example, I summon all my pets, and I upgrade them. The endurance cost is normal.
Now, in battle, one of my pets dies. I summon just one pet, and upgrade him. The endurance cost would lower because I am only upgrading one pet. If three pets die and I re-summon, the upgrade cost would rise from one to three pets. When upgrading all pets, the endurance cost would be the same as it is now.
