While it's not exact, I came pretty close to the hero version of electricity.
Following the Bright Palette color chart, the two colors I used were N-8 for the primary, and L-7 for secondary.
Hope that helps! -
That explains it better, thanks.
I assume we just tell you what the other name would be if we did have a different name? -
I'm sorry, but could you explain it in a little more detail? I'm afraid I'm not sure what this is about exactly...
Are we making completely different characters? Or simply re-doing a costume on an exisiting character? You're implying that we are being judged on how well we create our "alter ego," including our name. Do we need a name change or something?
Some more details would be very much appreciated, at least by me. =D -
Has this ever happened to you? At the final mission of the Lady Grey task force, everything is going great. Hro'Dtohz is a sinch, the generators get destroyed and then... wailing on a huge sack of HP until the whole team quits out of frustration.
Seriously, what is up with the Honoree? He's nearly impossible to damage, and whenever he gets down to a sliver of health, he pops his hour long Unstoppable, with no crash. I haven't been on a team that's been able to beat him yet.
Anybody got any tips or tricks on how to beat this guy? I just can't manage to do it. I've tried this TF three times before, and have failed all of them because of the Honoree.
This may sound like an angry rant, and it slightly is, but I really want to know how to beat this guy. I haven't been able too yet and its really irking me. -
Made it to the Honoree... then failed. Kept popping Unstoppable right as we were about to defeat him...
I appreciate the effort guys. Thanks for comin' out anyways. Next time we should bring plenty O' shivans and whatever else we can find for that final fight. -
REMINDER: This event is tonight!
There are still 3 spots left and we need eight to start, but if we don't get all of our sign-ups here I can ask my coalitions for participants.
See you all tonight! -

Pretty much all of the time my characters are concept characters. I'll get this cool idea for a character, then decide which power sets fit him best. With power customization, I can make any power set into something else. Water control? Blue empathy! Psychic Melee? Purple/Pinkish martial arts.
There are some times where it's the opposite. I'll pick the two power sets first, then create a concept to fit the parameters. Of course, this doesn't happen often, as it's difficult to create concepts on the fly.
I don't play sets because they're "FotM" or "Uber" sets. I play whatever sets would fit my character and see what happens. =D
P.S. Did anybody else misread the title and think it was somebody asking how to actually pick your powers? -
I see they smacked down the Jellybean AE farms. Awesome.
Of course, it's only a matter of time until somebody comes up with the next greatest AE exploit. -
EDIT: On second thought, scratch that. Completely forgot about stuff to do on Saturday. Sorry. =/

First, let me ask you a question. Are you playing on Freedom?
As much as I hate talking bad about my home server of Freedom, the kind of behavior you're talking about is the most common on that server.
But as for people kicking you for having a "gimped build"? Well, you probably wouldn't want to team with them anyways, because they sound like real idiots. If that happens to you, right click on the leader and add a note. Give him one star and forget about him. If you ever see him again, no matter what character he's playing, he'll have one lonely star over his head, letting you know exactly who he is.
Well, for your other two questions. Why do people use mids? It's a useful tool for number-crunchers to get the values on their builds without wasting time and money in the game. For more casual players like myself, it can be used to simply plan out your levels and when you'll pick certain powers, seeing how things work out.
For the FotM builds, why do people play them? Well, the particular powersets you mentioned are the most versatile, and can do most things well. Other powersets are more geared towards certain playstyles and have different tactics associated. Spines has a plethora of AoE attacks, but not much in the single target attacks. Electric melee however, has an even mix of AoE, Single target, and one extremely powerful PBAoE teleport. So, while it doesn't have the AoE power of Spines, it does everything in moderate balance.
While there are probably many other reasons certain builds are favored over others, that's just my opinion on it. Seriously though, if anybody mocks your build, or labels it as "useless" just ignore them and play on. Every build in this game is perfectly viable. Although some may be more challenging than others, they all work. Just ignore the jerks and play the game the way you want to. After all, if you're not having fun, what's the point of playing? -

Yeah, entrances are in Cap au Diable, St. Martial, and Grandville. You can enter those zones at any level, but you have to be level 35 to get the "Member of Vanguard" badge. When you get to level 35, talk to Levantera and do her story arc to get the badge. Once you get the badge, you can start earning Vanguard merits for defeating Rikti. Special crafting tables around the Vanguard base let you build temporary powers and costume pieces with those merits (including the Vanguard katana)
If you're a Broad Sword, Ninja Blade or Dual Blade Stalker you can craft the Vanguard Katana. -
If anybody is planning something like this on freedom, I will gladly sign up.

Quote:Roll an Alt. This game never was about being level 50. It about the journey, not the destination.I am aware that some of these suggestions have been considered and deliberately excluded by the Devs. I am still putting them in to let the Devs know that there is one additional player who disagrees with them.
End-of-Game
Once a toon hits lvl 50 most players 'lose the love' and move onto a new toon....
Quote:If level 50's could directly purchase Reward Merits for Influence (at a reasonable rate) then it would be worthwhile playing a level 50 toon. It would also lead to mis-use as each player used their lvl 50 to equip all their other toons with full sets. So maybe a lvl 50 could directly purchase lvl 50 (or 53) set recipies from the Merit Vendor for influence. Or create yet a new 'Reward' point system just for lvl 50s which could be used to purchase lvl 50 (53) set recipies.
Quote:E-Mail
This is another tool which could be used to allow players to transfer tradable things in the game between two toons without having to physically meet-up or even be online at the same time....
Quote:please, Please, PLEASE put in the same spam tools which exist in Outlook Express (TM). I get so many emails for 'buy your influence here' Websites that I never actually read email, I just automatically delete it. My ignore list has been full for months and every person I click as Spam just frees another address from my ignore list. If I could just have a tool whihc scans the email for 'Specific Word' and automatically deletes it, then I could use the Email tool confortable in the knowledge that when I have email I probably want to read it.
Also, in the options menu, there is a setting to only receive emails from friends/SG mates. Flip that on to never see the spam email again.
Quote:Names
Most good names have been taken by now. If I want to use the name 'Pointy Eared Natural Scrapper' I have to misspell it or add special characters so I end up with something like 'Piontii-Eared.NaturalScrapper' Nothing wrong with players who got the good names continuing to use them, but... I am sure that not all of the players are still playing. Would it be possible to send an email to players whose account has been inactive for more than two years letting them know their toons are being renamed to "Toon#####" in order to free up the names and if they have a problem please send you are 'do not rename' email? Even in comics old names are re-used by new superheroes if the old one is retired (e.g. When Dick Grayson stopped being Robin and became Nightwing).
Plus, they've done name purges for inactive characters in the past, and not many names were freed up at all.
Not going to comment on the base part since it doesn't really concern me. I never was interested in Supergroups. -
Sounds cool. I'll bring Proto-Zero along for the ride. Level 46 DB/EnA Stalker.
-
I'll join.
Smash Zone - Level 38 Inv/EnM Tanker. -
Quote:Just because something is unique doesn't mean it's good. The AT you're describing would have ZERO soloing capabilities whatsoever, pretty much FORCING you to team for your whole career. Plus, why would I want a player who only buffs/debuffs, when I can have a defender or controller who can do the same thing AND deal damage?Because its interesting and different. Variety, people, is the spice of life. My original draw to this game was how different all the ATs were, back when controllers had massive control and no real damage to speak of pre-32 (before containment). It gave a whole different feel to the game than playing a blaster or defender. I want to see more of that, more variety. I want to see more innovation.
Dual blades with the combo thing was a good idea. Dual pistols with selectable damage type and secondary effect is a good idea though it doesn't go far enough. I'm hoping for new unique ATs and I'm hoping that all powersets from here on out put something new and unique into the game - not just reskins of powers we already have. That gets boring.
Such an AT would be completely ignored by 90% of the playerbase, and the few players who actually do create these characters would never be invited to teams because controllers and defenders are better at it. -
As much as I would love to have Vanguard claws for widows, I don't see it happening any time soon. Epic AT's are very story driven, so it doesn't make sense for an Arachnos widow to have vanguard claws or any other claws for that matter. Just like Kheldians can't color their powers for concept reasons, nor villains their patron powers.

Quote:Maybe have a pop-up menu to prevent getting a mission without intending to. something like,I like it.
I would assume that if you were at the current limit for number of open missions that it would simply not drop for you, like if your salvage is full, for example.
And maybe it should be droppable seperate from the current one per three days, as there will be some folks who would want to opt out for whatever reason.
"You found this item checklist on a member of the freakshow. You heard about the freakshow robbing various electronic stores and these items fit the bill. Perhaps you should look into this?"
As for mission space, maybe have a separate slot for these types of missions that only has room for one. Have the standard mission-drop rule apply.
I whole-heartedly agree to this idea. It would actually give an incentive to street-sweeping. It's always strange seeing so much crime and nobody caring to stop it. -
I've been meaning to respec my Tank sometime, but I'm out of freespecs. I was going to start one myself, but it seems I won't have too!
Sign me up as Smash Zone, level 35 Inv/EnM Tanker. -
Sign me up as Thunderous Void, level 22 Dark/Elec Defender.

Thanks for remembering it so I don't have to. =P
Man, those forums ARE ugly! I'd hate seeing that everyday. xD
