Task Force 500th attempt at a Master Of run.
=P -
Well, I believe the reason the arc is at the level range that it is would be because NPC's with a lot of powers often get confused by the sheer amount of powers that they have. They sometimes get stuck on one attack, or just one set of attacks (melee or ranged).
It's not official, but that's just my best guess. -
While you will have to re-install the entire game again, you will not lose any of your character data or anything on the servers.
All of your heroes, villains, levels, enhancement, salvage, Influence/Infamy and everything is stored on the City of Heroes server. Just re-install and log into your account. You won't lose anything but the time it takes to install. =) -
Something must be terribly wrong. My computer is just barely able to play this game, and I'm having absolutely no issues at all since the latest patch.
The Cimerora zoning issue is a bug, yes, so it happens to everyone. But that's because of a server error, not a client error. Almost everything else you mentioned has something to do with the client.
I'm sorry you and others are having computer problems, but it really doesn't sound like anything wrong with the new patch. It sounds like something is wrong with your computer. -
Like the title says. I want to change my billing plan from the one month plan to the three month plan, but how do I do that? Do I have to cancel then renew my subscription? Or is there something I'm not seeing?

Quote:It has been stated more times than I can count that Ice armor and Ice Melee are NOT going to be proliferated to brutes. Ice's secondary effect is -recharge, and when the enemies can't attack you, you can't build fury very fast at all. And a brute with no fury is like a scrapper with tanker damage. For me: Ice Armor and Melee for Brutes/Scrappers/Stalkers. Specifically, Brutes. Please, please, please, may I have my softcapped, fury-driven damage aura rocking, unlimited end, 2 aggro aura, capped HP engine of destruction??
But for the topic, I myself am hoping for a ton of AV fights in GR. Although that's pretty much a given with Praetoria. =D -
My favorite memory would be the time I learned my soloing capabilities.
I was heading for a mission I had against the Family. I entered the mission, only to realize I hadn't changed my difficulty since the last team I was leading! The mobs were set for 5 players, and there was a huge group in front of me. So, just for kicks, I decided to run in and try to solo it... and I succeeded.
Never before had I felt more powerful with my DB/En Stalker. It was so much fun letting loose One Thousand Cuts on each large group, just watching the damage ticks float up. I loved every minute of it.
Seriously, even though I've only been around for a short while, this is without a doubt the best MMO on the market today. I tried WoW and CO and all those other games, but none of them had the same appeal as this game.
Happy 6th anniversary, and here's to many more! -
All this talk of Anniversaries immediately brought this scene to mind.
Seriously, of all the MMO's out there, this one is the only one that has actually kept my attention. Here's to plenty more years of super-powered action! -
Well, the Dominator secondaries all contain a number of melee attacks. So unless you can come up with two different ways to smack your opponent with pistols and find two powers for them to replace, it probably won't happen.
Not that it wouldn't be totally awesome, it just wouldn't really work. =/ -
The only reason I ever kick players for power reasons is if they've severely gimped their build. My particular insta-kick builds are as follows.
A petless Mastermind. (No, I don't care if you "made it work." You'd be about 10 times better with your pets.)
A healing build with no heals. (Hi, I'm an Empath. All I have is Healing Aura and Clear Mind. I took all of the Concealment and Presence pools!)
A support build with no support. (Hi, I'm a Thermal. I only have Healing flames, but I have the Fighting pool!)
A "pure-healing" or "pure-support" Defender. (Yeah, you just keep rockin' that aura.)
Basically, any builds that have several limited their potential either on purpose or due to lack of experience. Like a Tanker who doesn't take hardly any armor powers, or a Controller who focuses only on support. If they are new to the game, I'll try to explain how to make better power choices, but other than that don't expect to stay on my team for long if you've purposely gimped yourself. -
Step One: Pick the Brute/Stalker/Scrapper/Tanker Archetype.
Step Two: Pick "Invulnerability" or "Willpower" as your armor power.
Step Three: Pick the reptilian costume pieces. Customize to your liking.
Ta-dah! Reptilian armor! -
Well, I guess that's that. My code collection is completed, so that's one less competitor for you guys. =P

Might as well hazard a guess.

I know exactly what you're talking about, and I whole-heartedly agree with you. You can definitely tell the difference from old content and new content. It just sticks out like a sore thumb. We've added all these new contacts and missions with fun new additions, but the older contacts are still doing the same ol' song and dance. Not to mention the blah-feel of the older zones like Port Oakes and Steel Canyon.
Unfortunately, while this cause is a just one and one that deserves looking into, it most certainly is not an easy one. To go back and update all the contacts and all the zones would be an impressive feat to say the least. They would have to practically drop everything they were doing and work for a very lengthy amount of time in order to bring the old content up-to-date with the new stuff. Then the players would complain that there's not enough "new" stuff, and it would just be a mess.
I propose that every new issue or so, they should spend a little time upgrading something old. Not everything, just work in baby steps. One issue they could add some interesting contacts and stories for Dark Astoria. Another issue they could spice-up the old stories that the old contacts use in Port Oakes. Not neglecting new stuff of course, just sort of give a little of each.
It's probably wishful thinking, but I really believe that we need to do something about the old content; It's past the expiration date and needs to be replaced or upgraded. -
Vicious indeed, Avatea. CUUURRRSE YOOOOU!!!! xD
Hehe, I must have skipped over the powers for the Freedom Corps Cataphract; Looking over it, there is indeed a power called "Grenade."
Well played, Biidi! -

Quote:Wow, it's like racism only it's against servers; No point in it and you're completely dead-wrong!just a thought = i don't no 100% on any server! but have visit them in past 4 years!
my experience on Free dumb it has lot younger players, a lot drama, and a lot pled toons, at 50 they mostly think there done. u can hear in global chat about getting kicked from teams for no reason , kinda a mess, yea there few good player's there, and exp, but
they ere 1 that Kill u in PVP Zones! and if they don't the lag probably will, more busy the server more lag seems to bring! unorganized it is and honestly, where u should go if u want quick pick up teams and a lot death! yea i know it sounds like Dumb! that's because it is!
Why do people hate freedom? More bad players? Guess what... every server has bad players. This is how I see it.
Lets just say for example that the Super server has 100 players. Out of that, 20% are farmers, 10% are jerk-wad retards, and the remaining 70% are your average players. So, that's 20 farmers, 10 rude players, and 70 regular players.
Now, lets say the Freedom has 1,000 players. Put in those same percentage points. Now there's 200 farmers, 100 rude people, and 700 regular people. The percentages haven't changed, just the number. So it's almost like an illusion, people see more rude players, so they assume that it's nothing but rude players.
I've been on Freedom ever since I started and it's nothing at all like people describe it. I always find nice, genuine people to play with and I always have a blast. Sure, there ARE rude people, but EVERY server has rude people.
To the OP, don't let the nay-sayers change your opinion on Freedom. Try it out for yourself and then you can make your own decision. -
The thing is, this game really isn't about PvP. You'll find a few, people who enjoy it, but many here are PvE oriented. The Arena auto-matches don't ever seem to work properly, so unless you're starting one yourself don't expect to play any matches.
For open world PvP, the Freedom server has the biggest PvP crowd; But even then it's not much. Most PvP zones are active at night and usually on weekends. Recluses Victory is the most active, since it is the highest level. Bloody Bay is not as active, but there may be a few people. Sirens Call is the same as Bloody Bay, and Warburg is a ghost town.
Why is there such a low interest in PvP? Well, PvP received a major change during Issue 13, much so that many veteran PvP'ers left because it changed so drastically. It's nothing at all like the PvE game. Even if you can solo on +4/x8 players in PvE, you'll probably be destroyed by the elite PvP crowd. People were also chased away by the less-than-ideal PvP players. If you were killed you could expect to hear things like "lol u suk lrn2ply noob." or "haha loser I pwned u! u shuld quit game nao."
And for the sake of readers, please break up your post into paragraphs. The giant Wall'O'Text is very difficult to read. -
I don't really see how you can use plants to protect yourself. Because... they're plants. You can cut them with a sword, and shoot bullets through them; They're not very "protective" of the user.
I guess you can argue that they're "Super plants!" or something, or maybe just really hard-to-break plants. I just don't see it as very practical.
But then again, some of the armor sets we do have aren't very practical either. Fire Armor and Electric Armor come to mind. I still don't understand how you protect yourself with fire... -
Got my very first level 50 character today. Proto-Zero, DB/Ea Stalker.
Did it in a epic fashion too, and recorded it for fun. =P -
It kind of goes against a hero's personality to go "Look at me! I'm so great! Let's make a statue to signify my greatness!"
The statues for fallen heroes are as a tribute to their sacrifice. If the hero is alive, it's kind of vain and selfish. -
