Quote:The way i see it, the only way to get people to PvP is to bring in PvPers. If people who like to PvP hear about this game and want to play but then hear that PvP is dead, they won't want to play. We have to fix PvP to bring in a PvP population, then things will start picking up pace. While I would love to see the PvP system get turned back to the old version, I don't see where this would do anything to help the future of the game. At it's peak, the PvP population was around 15% or so of the player base. Now it's half that. Most of the players don't care about PvP (or hate everything about it) and any changes you make wont mean anything to them. I hate to say it, but everyone who thinks that fixing the PvP system is what it needed to save the game are totally wrong. If people wanted to PvP, they would have been doing it all along.
But i agree, these aren't really major changes. They're changes i agree with but won't make a huge impact. -
Recently i saw Iron Man 2. It was the first super hero movie i had seen in a while so it gave me some ideas. I loved the scene were Whiplash fought Tony at the race track. And that got me thinking. Currently, almost every mission we have is for someone else. Newspapers are pretty much the only source villain driven plots. If they were to make this idea, villains can only go in to save Arachnos agents. What about the villains who don't work with Arachnos?
In short, the reasons for fighting the hero should be more personnel.
This might be a good introduction to a system similar to Nemesis in CO. -
I was just in Sharkhead thinking about how i wish you could refresh the missions.

Personally, i think they should just revamp music in general. I like the main theme, but zone songs need to be more heroic and orchestral. Mission music might be a nice addition. I know a lot of games have songs you unlock when you go to zone it plays at, maybe they add that and then you choose what songs to play in a mission.

I'd rather they just make the Rogue Isles a giant Mayhem Mission where you can destroy certain objects (Maybe those hobo houses) and fight civilians. I know fighting civilians won't work unless they make it M, but couldn't they just say that the civilians are knocked out?

Quote:Sounds good, although on hero side there should be uniformed villains too. I mean if there was a villain escaping don't you think everyone else would try to escape?Let the zig be a zone where we fight to prevent "Costumed" villain NPCs from escaping and on the Villain side, get past costumed heroes to escape with as many villains as possible. Make them con to every level like the zone events, add generous amounts of chaos, sprinkle a few badges, and some special temp powers, shake well and WIN!

Now that you mention it, that does make sense. Darkkami was created in May (this month) with 1 post. Doesn't matter though, CoH music still needs an advance.

I was trying to think up something that the Zig could be used for when a riot wasn't going on. What i came up with was a new way to get information from villains. Instead of beating villains until they tell you what you want, you have the choice to go to the Zig and talk to one of the old leaders of that group. You'll have a few choices of things to say, if you get the leader mad enough then you'll end up beating him until he tells you what you want.

That music was amazing, although i like the main theme this was so much better. It's the kind of heroic music we need. Not the Blyde Square song which is Purple Haze but a little different. -
Maybe a Jungle themed zone too. It would make sense as an untouched island. Maybe a few Arachnos bases, independent contacts mostly though. NO LONGBOW. I would like to see a new villain group, maybe a cannibal tribe.

Quote:Ah right sorry!Dungeon? Seriously? Did this became WOW when I wasn't looking?
Instance you mean, instance.
I'm all for the idea, not so much for the PVP version of it.
I agree with the no PVP version, although it could be fun it would just be spreading out PVPers even further. Also, i bet a bunch of PVEers would want to go in. -

I don't know much about the mechanics or balance but i love the idea. -
Quote:PVP in the Zig could be fun. Although, at this point their security is terrible (with all the Arachnos break-ins and what not) I think villains breaking in would just add to that problem. The Zig holds high class criminals so their security should be good. It's been asked for a few times, actually. Prisoners need a bit of tweaking, but it would make sense as an event point (like the Mothership in the RWZ or SC fires, for instance.)
While I like PVP in general, there are two issues with this -
1. PVP itself is still broken. It needs work. And
2. Our PVP population is so low, I don't see spreading it out more as being beneficial.
Making it a generally accessible event? Sure. More people to enjoy it. Making a part of the zig an arena instance or something may be a better way of fighting through jail at this point. -
Thanks to everyone who answered, this really cleared some things up and should help me get better.

I was thinking it would be cool if heroes could enter the Ziggurat. You go into the Ziggurat and everyone is in their cell, there's a questioning room that's open and all that stuff, pretty quiet-You would just use this for RP. But then there would be a zone event.
(PPD) Riot at the Ziggurat
There's just a bunch of prisoners running around with guards trying to fight them off and then heroes go in to help.
I know Red side needs something like this more, but i think this could be very cool. -
Quote:Yeah, that makes sense. /double signed because it's a great ideaHmn, that I don't see working. Reason being, a thug thats a challenge for a level one Hero wouldnt (shouldnt, depending on what sorta character you are after) be a challenge at level fifty. A Damned Pyremaster, with a symbiotic flame demon and a nasty array if firepowers; that I can see being a good fight.

I've recently started RPing in COX. I found a great SG and love everything about RPing. There are two questions that i have that are fairly minor.
1. How many people use 1st person camera? As of now, i don't. I think it's hard to move and harder in caves. I'll get used to it though if it's the normal thing.
2. Do you actually go "into" the mind of your character? When you're sitting there at your computer, do you pretend you are the character or just when you're typing. Are your reactions that of your character or that of yourself, you just type your characters.
Thanks to anyone who responds. -
I posted something like this awhile back.

I would still like to see regular gang members though, Blood Brothers just at level 50 instead of all demon packed fire lords. -

Looks awesome and any costume addition is a good addition. -
/signed, space could be used for a ton of things. Personally, i would like to use a small chunk of space rather than just the moon. But we'll have to do what we did in the 60's, start with the moon and go from there.

/singed released with GR would be cool.
