I'm not in this go around (all my Champion toons are for lvl 4 PvP) but for my 2 cents I think an exception may be warranted here. -

and to the OP:
Since GR launched, I've soloed a bit but spent most of my time in teams of 8. You may be experiencing the issue of teams don't come to you and you need to look for a few minutes. GR may be a fresh(ish) start but a lot of folks have friends lists and channels they recruit from, so try joining a channel like AE Anonymous, Infinity Badges, Infinity Badge Seeker, Infinity Hamidon, etc. and ask for team/advice. Most of the content in this game neither has nor needs lengthy how-to guides (that and the best speed runners on this server are barely literate). GL HF. -

Well, I was writing up a few points on Ninja/Poison...
Then I noticed this is in the PvP section (hitting new posts makes me unaware of sections)
Since I don't PvP I can't really give any insight on how well they do there.
That said, if you haven't played Ninja's before they can be a minor pain to keep in line. GoTo command will be your best friend.
Also, I've heard really horrible things about /Poison for MM's. Ninja/Psn sounds like a painful combo for me, due to all the micro mananging.
However, they might be really good for PvP so I'll exit now and let someone with more knowledge help. -

AEA, IB2, Infinity Hamidon are still good places to find teams or get that quick fix for a duel.
Dragonians Channel is dedicated to the SG/VG and coalies of Dragonians. Only thing is its not just Infinity based, we use it to talk cross servers and such. But I'm pretty much on Infinity on a regular basis. @wolf-ire -

My Ice/SS is a beast- I have /pyre in my PvE build and /stone in my lolzone PvP build. For AVs bring a few oranges and greens as you will get hit (well real AVs, not Romy at +0), chilling embrace is your friend as its -14% to enemy damage in it's radius, hoarfrost for the dull pain effect as well. This is the tank I do ITF speed runs with and have tanked the STF with it and although I didn't die it was a bit more challenging that with a stone, WP or invuln.

Most of the fun things mentioned in the OP are banned now in the new unfun forum rules. That and some of us have moved on to other creative avenues.
