  1. Nearly level 45 on my Claws/Invul.. I've got 70% S/L resistance and about 30% S/L defense with a full mob. I'm really not that tough next to a few WPs I've been running with. Same levels and all of us using common IOs. I'm wondering if I should have gone /WP.
  2. I have no idea how I forgot the Steadfast Def in my posted build. In any case, I'll take a few of your suggestions into consideration. I'd prefer to have my travel at 14, though.
  3. You should fit in Follow Up. That's your 'Build Up'.

    So you're saying there isn't a 20% discount to end or recharge on live right now? And how does a lower damage scale equate to a buff? I've never understood how it works, I guess.
  5. Just hit 41 and slowly filling in IOs. I'm going to assume my build is fine since no one had anything to say about it, lol.
  6. It's been a long time since I had an Invul toon (Fire/Invul at CoV launch) and I think I've thrown together a pretty solid build for my Claws/Invul. It will need 5 targets in Invic's range to soft cap S/L, though. After focusing on Defense, I went for recharge and recovery. Lastly, I tried to keep my S/L resis above 70%. I also threw in a couple procs. The Achilles' and FF procs were a must have, imo. Let me know if there's anything I could change to make this build more effective.

    Claws pairs well with any secondary. Focus and shockwave are good mitigation to help with squishier secondaries.

    The only thing I ever consider these days is whether to go with shockwave or eviscerate if I don't think I can fit both on top of spin.

    For secondaries that have auras that feed your mitigation (invul and wp) it's probably best to go with eviscerate.

    For secondaries that don't need to worry about keeping enemies nearby, shockwave is a beautiful thing.
    Would Electrifying Fences prevent Shockwave's KB?
  8. I've gotten to level 35 with my Claws/Invul and slotted with level 35 common IOs. It feels pretty good. Endurance isn't horrible (no tough/weave yet) and I'm already able to take alphas/tank for my teams. I do wish I had a damage aura, though.

    Proliferation = Good for Brutes as well as all other classes
  10. I changed my mind on Fire and went Claws/Invul. The only thing that bothers me is the negative impact on my defense that Shockwave may have.
  11. I'm rolling Claws/FA here in a couple days. Build for about 30-40% Melee defense and enjoy!

  13. One of my favorite Brutes is my 50 Fire/WP and he currently has a pre-I13 PvP build. I want to get him setup for PvE but can't really come up with anything that looks good. Will probably be more of a soloing villain. If anyone can show me a really cool build idea or even just some small suggestions, that would be much appreciated. Anyway here is his build.. It's been awhile, but I think I built him for max regeneration.

  14. You bring up some good points that I didn't really think about. You're definitely right about the slow in LR. I'll probably remove the Lady Gray Proc from RI since it doesn't seem to fire much at all and throw it on LR.

  16. Back when I got this game, one of the first toons I rolled was a Radiation/Psychic Defender. He was a blast leveling and a force to be reckoned with solo. Then I got into PvP and did that for awhile. Annnnd towards the end he was used mostly for Katies. Anyway, it's been a long time and he still has white SOs.

    Here's a build I put together with focus on recharge and and some damage. Should I find a way to fit more slots into Fallout? I read on another thread that Conserve Power really isn't needed, but after using my toon so much, he loses end even with AM up. This could be due to white SOs, though. Should I bother with procs in RI, Choking and Psi Tornado?

    I plan to use him for solo/teaming pve. He's also 50, so this is a respec build. Let me know what you guys think! =)

  18. Thanks for the replies! First off, I pretty much zoned out when I slotted Transfusion with DW. It now has Touch of the Nictus. I've leveled this toon to 44 so far and the build I posted is an end game respec. I was able to move some of those powers around, though. I still can't decide on Ranged vs S/L. I can go either route, really. I usually 'Stun - Cage - Attack' which leads to some ranged attacks coming at me. I still want to know if slotting the Achilles' would be useful in EQ?

  19. Here's my build. It's mainly for teaming pve. I focused on ranged defense and recharge. Is there any way I can make it better?

    Is the Achilles' Heel proc worth it in Earthquake? Also, would a Force Feedback proc work in it? Should I rethink my Stamina slotting? Lastly, should I re-slot Stoney and give up the ranged defense bonus? I was considering 4 Expedient(with resis bonus), 1 Sovereign resis bonus and a Dam/Acc HO.

  20. All this talk about Earth/Storm.. feel like I'm missing out with my Earth/Kin, lol. I've never tried Storm before and want to. For a Storm newbie, would Plant pair with it better than Earth? Or does it just depend on who's behind the wheel?

    Okay, so I got impatient and just leveled the tank to 47. Fully IOed, it's not too shabby. I won't be taking down any Pylons, though! I think dave_p was right on the money when he said it's solid AoE/cone damage but not so great for ST. If I were to start over, I'd probably choose SS over Ice Melee.
